My main goal for this site was to add all the new video game characters to Street Fighter: The Storytelling Game, because many of them had been released after this game went out of print.
There have been many starts and stops, sometimes I would include or exclude different games, other times I might scrap the whole project and start over because I wasn’t happy with it.
This however, is the final version! Bear with me as I complete it. It will include write-ups for the Characters/Styles/Maneuvers of Alpha, One, Three, Four, and Five (The EX series is no longer included as I have learned it is not canon).

Hey just recently discovered your work as I was starting my first Street Fighter game in close to a decade or more.
Great work on everything! Looking forward to it being completed. Keep it up!
Martial Dufour says
Awesome job ! Keep up the good work, you’re getting nearer to seing the end every time you update :)
Still, I was looking for Darun Mister for a scenario of mine, and couldn’t find it anywhere, nor is he planned for inclusion later… Is he not canon ? Is it a mistake or do you plan not to include him ? Could only find information about him in http://www.fightersgeneration.com/main.htm
Thx anyway for this extraordinary work !
Andre says
Wow I can’t believe this is all still up.
I used the streetfighter system to run a Tekken and a Mortal Kombat game years ago.
My old players now want to introduce my new players to what they consider the best pulp rpg ever. Imagine my surprise to find the old resources I used still around.
Webmaster says
True love never dies!
Glad you like them, thanks!
Preston says
Is there a reason that it’s not loading properly? I keep trying and it freezes up.
Webmaster says
Are you opening in the browser or downloading it first?
Merlin Reynolds says
Still alive. Still down for future update proofreading.
Looking forward to Eagle. ^^
Webmaster says
Finished? Depends if I die first.
Translated? Lorem Ipsum is placeholder text for works in progress.
Armor I think is in one of the core books.
Shelbeast says
This is so rad. Cannot WAIT to see Zeku! That is one cool, cool character!
Kyle Stevens says
Is this project going to be finished? There are some characters that are incomplete.
Chris says
Are there any stats for armor? Also, I wasn’t able to Google translate the street fighter descriptions on Page 11. Which language should I translate from?
Garrett Edward Spears says
I understand that the EX series is not canon, but go ahead and add them in as if they are characters just for the game.
Walker says
MoeLANDER, I’d certainty like to see your work as well! And, as always, thanks for all the work you guys are putting into this stuff!

TheMOELANDER says
I am currently translating the game into german for my RPG club. What I also want to do is update the rules and resources in the process to fit the canon. If you want my writeups of characters like Eliza, Mel and other supporting characters I would be happy to give them to you. Once they’re done that is…
Webmaster says
Sure, I’m planning to add them too, maybe you will get them done before I do, lol
theMOELANDER says
Hey, what are you going to do about those 5 new and original character coming to SFV next year? If you need help lifting the write-up work from your shoulders feel free to ask any of us!
Sincerely your loyal followers.
Webmaster says
I plan to add them. Thanks I might take you up on that!
Walker says
Agreed. We are all happy to see updates, and we are all also happy to wait patiently while real life comes first. Thank you! And if you find you need any help with your process, let us know what could be of help, and maybe we can volunteer some time to it as well.
Preston Swoyer says
I come here often to check for updates. I want to genuinely thank you for doing this. There are those out here who still think that this is a fun and worthwhile RPG. Please continue to post. I understand real life comes first so any updates are appreciated.
Thiago says
It has been a long time since the last news on this. I hope the project isn’t dead.
Webmaster says
Not dead, just busy!
Ryu the Weredragon says
One thing that I’m wondering is that, since the 20th anniversary supplement does not include the original characters created by White Wolf, if you’re going to do so.
Webmaster says
I am not including any characters, maneuvers, styles, rules etc from the original book. The G-File is purely to supplement the material found in the original book.
Forrest says
Is it time for that big push yet?
Webmaster says
I don’t know man. I got a lot of stuff on my plate right now :-\
Thiago says
How is the project affected by Street Fighter 5?? And is there any news?
Webmaster says
I’m definitely going to do SFV, but I’m not sure how/where yet.
From what I have seen playing the beta, it’s going to be a lot of big changes. More than probably any other SF. They are really changing some of the characters pretty drastically.
So depending on the SFV final product, I might update the characters in the g-file to assume the latest version is the official version, or I might end the g-file at SFIV, and release a separate SFV supplement.
Either way, I am definitely doing SFV.
News: I haven’t worked on this in a while but I’m only a few big pushes away from having all the rules. I will probably wait till the last minute and then work like 3 days straight to get it out before SFV launches, so its current at least for a moment, haha.
Reed says
How exactly are you determining character canonicity?
Webmaster says
I’m very involved in the FGC and a lot of it is just what I’d consider common knowledge. I also follow the research of others (Plot FAQ, etc) and do my own research (following statements of Capcom employees or talking to them at events, google translate capcom japanese sites, huge stack of imported or translated mooks/fanbooks in my basement, etc).
So a combination of those three things. Common knowledge, my own research on official sources, the research of others.
Sorry, wish their was more of a “formula” for you.
Webmaster says
Just added a 41b version, to fix a thing that slipped through the cracks in the 41 release.
Thiago says
I will just say that, since you already created all your stuff for SF EX, you could add it to the book anyway, as an appendix, mentioning they are not canon. Looking forward for the full book.
SFRPG says
This next update is going to take longer than I thought because of personal problems and computer problems.
PaladinDemo says
Errors 2.0
These are the errors I didn’t mention in the styles list.
Shadaloo is mispelled, if you were going for the English translation from the SF2 anime I understand.
Eagle and Hakkan both don’t have their name in the Playing block. Eagle says El Fuerte and Hakkan says Hugo.
Gill is miss Element (Ice).
Senjutsu is in a forgein language. I’m thinking that it was probable deliberate since the paragraghs repeat themselves.
The Moonsault Press traditionally is a slam when your opponent is on the ground. You face backwards then sommersault to slam your opponent. I’m guessing the description is based off of Hugo’s Megaton Press, which I can also see the three space bounce. One modification for the Moonsault is the higher you go the more damage you deal. Top rope height would be roughly +1 and top of a steel cage would be +3 with maybe a one space bounce (depending if your fighting in a wrestling ring).
SFRPG says
Yeah it is a work in progress. Lorem ipsum is the standard placeholder text when doing layout before content, and a lot of the red boxes are just cut and pasted from other characters to line them up so they may have wrong names.
I don’t remember how they spelled shadaloo in the original rpg book. I may be copying their spelling or maybe just messed up, haha.
PaladinDemo says
Good news is that it’s only two. And the spelling for Shadaloo is the same in the original book. Hopefully it’ll help with the fine tuning.
Webmaster says
Error! it’s only 3! :-)
SFRPG says
Just checked the books, “Shadoloo” is the spelling used in the storytelling game.
PaladinDemo says
lol. That’s funny since the pros got the spelling wrong. Oh I think your missing the German Suplex. Let me reread real quick.
PaladinDemo says
Update: Found the regular Suplex on Alex’s sheet. But missing on the move list.
SFRPG says
Yes the moves are only the new ones I made up. Players can get suplex from the main book. Feel free to email me btw, its taking an awful lot of space to find so many “errors”
PaladinDemo says
True.
PaladinDemo says
Reading through. There’s a few errors. Some spelling, mostly styles.
Birdie – Brawling
Cody – Street Fighting
Dan – Saikyo-ryu Karate (it does have basis in Shotokan)
Eagle – Eskrima (self taught, not really an error but fill in)
Geki – Ninjutsu (fill in)
Guy – Bushinryu Ninjutsu
Joe – Kickboxing (fill in)
Karin – Kanzuki-ryu Kakutojutsu (it’s a mix of Bushido, Japanese Pro-wrestling, and MMA)
Lee – Kung Fu (fill in)
Mike – Boxing (fill in, I think he’s a prototype Balrog)
Necro – Programming (a mix of MMA, Yoga stretches, and Blanka’s electricity)
Q – Brute Force Brawling
Remy – Savate (French Kickboxing, Remy is a club goer so he knows how to use the Sonic Boom)
Retsu – Shotokan Karate
Sakura – Saikyo-ryu Karate (this more of an addition since Sakura hangs out with Dan and Ryu)
Seth – Programming (a mix of Shotokan, Gile’s Special Forces training, Yoga stretches, and Zangief’s Sambo)
Sodom – Self Taught (a mix of Bushido and underground wrestling)
Twelve – Instinctive Assassination (Programmed)
I’ve play Tekken Rev and one of the most used fighters is Law, I know what Jeet Kun Do. I found it strange that it was used as a blanket term for a lot of the styles. Hopefully this helps out and please don’t hurt me.
SFRPG says
I used jkd for a lot of the programmable computer people because it is the only style that can get any move, which I thought was pretty consistent with programming moves. Think I should make a style for it?
Also was trying to work within existing rules as much as possible as animal hybrids are over powered and blanka worked fine without them. Trying to stick to that idealogy.
I’m open to the idea though. Still have a lot of work to do.
PaladinDemo says
You should. It’ll help open up for Law if you add Street Fighter X Tekken to G File. Fei Long is a good source of inspiration since he is or the closest practitioner of Jeet Kun Do before SFxT. Me personally when I think of programmable styles, I think of a computer copying and pasting the best moves from the other fighters or the best weapons in the case of Twelve. I can understand trying to stay within the rules. But with how long I played Tekken Rev (King is my main fighter, followed by Miguel), it was something I’ve noticed when I recall how Marshall Law moves and compared to how the programs move.
I’m trying to figure out a Tag Team division myself.
SFRPG says
It’s a little tricky because the crappy phb already made cyborg a background, so it’s tough to decide what some of their styles would be when they are all cyborg. Cyborg background only giving you access to any focus move complicated things but I will figure something out.
PaladinDemo says
Cyborgs and Androids from what I observed are more of the physical power moves. Anything that would give a cyborg/android Focus attacks would be devices like the Tanden Engine (or Feng Shei Engine). You can also include devices that would increase damage if your planing on making a heel or increase damage output like chainsaws or the jackhammer rounds.
PaladinDemo says
Update. Found the official Jeet Kun Do. Perfect Continders pg 109.
sfrpg says
Here is a more well thought out response after going down your list (and ignoring the blank ones I just have not done yet). my rationale so far:
* Birdie is a canon former pro wrestler
* Codys moves were modeled after Joe’s (kickboxer) but I was on the fence for this one
* Dan canon student of gouken
* Guy i figured Bushin was a type of ninjitsu so
* Karin her style is described as pulling her favorite moves from other styles so I figured self taught jkd (the only style that allows you to pull moves from other styles)
* Necro can have any move because of programming (like jkd can have any move)
* Q have not decided yet
* Remy figured he had an awful lot of moves in common with guile
* Sakura canon taught herself ryus moves
* Seth can have any move because of programming (like jkd can have any move)
* Sodom self taught mix of other styles? jkd?
* Twelve can have any move because of programming (like jkd can have any move)
PaladinDemo says
Birdie – Ah. Ooooo. I should look up Saturday Night Slam Masters.
Cody – He doesn’t have the training to use any kickboxing. Plus he uses a variety of weapons; knife (standard), pipe wrenches, and steel pipes.
Dan – Agreed, but also in canon he combined Shotokan with Muay Thai to create Saikyo-ryu. You can use moves from both Shotokan and Muay Thai as a practitioner of Saikyo-ryu.
Guy – It is, and to adapt ninjutsu Guy combined Bushinryu with street fighting to make his own variation. Anybody with Guy as their sensei can get ninjutsu and street fighting moves.
Karin – Hers is a little bit more tricky cause they removed her style from canon. I would have said MMA personaly.
Nerco, Seth, Twelve – While JKD and MMA would the closest, you still need to train. Programming would be on an instinctual level. You can use the costs for JKD and MMA, plus add in weapon morphs (in the case of Twelve). Keep in mind, I would corrolate certain moves with certain devices (like a generator for Necro and the Tanden Engine for Seth).
Q – Q reminds me of Tekken’s Jacks. No refined style, hit something as hard as you can.
Remy – According to the little bit of SF3 comics from Udon (which follows canon on ocassion). It’s because of his club The Omega that Remy started to learn his version of the Sonic Boom. I’ve timed that generic club beat (pretty much that beat Stewie used on Family Guy during the gay marrige episode) to Remy’s super art (the Sonic Boom barrage), it’s almost timed perfectly.
Sakura – While self taught, per the comics and animes she has received instruction from Ryu, Dan, and even Oro.
Sodom – There’s not that many weapons JKD use. Plus with his obsession of Japanese culture, it’s more likely that Sodom would have taught himself Bushido and/or Iaido. He’ll use the same techniques with blunt or sharp weapons.

Max is simply too adorable for words! Congrats and enjoy fatherhood!

I did not get the update done before baby got here, I ended up working 4 jobs leading up to his arrival. Busy busy busy.
But now I am not working at all on paternity leave, and working on this project in my spare time!

Yvan says
Great job but why don’t you add the Street Fighter’s characters (the original game) : Lee, Joe, Mike, Retsu… You can also add Hakan from Super Street Fighter 4, and by the way Maki, Eagle and Ingrid appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper as playable characters…
Thanks for the work fyou already done.
Webmaster says
I plan to add everyone from 1 and 4, but not upper, as many of those guest appearances were not canon.
Yvan says
But most of the characters from Final Fight are “canon” as Capcom Japan put on their website and alsothose in Sf X Tekken…
Webmaster says
No argument there, they are definitely canon. This is discussed in the comments above actually. I may do a special Final Fight update or something one day to add them in, but for now Step One is getting everyone from the Street Fighter games in there. I will worry about other canon games after that.
It is already a big job, so big I haven’t completed it yet. I don’t want to add to the scope of this project until my current goals have been met.
Yvan says
It was only to know… But mostly to thank you for the huge work you already done !
Big cheers from a fan from France
Forrest says
Hello again sensei,
How is the work coming, and can we get a version-in-progress sometime soon?
Also, when is your new pupil due? I’m a dad myself, and I’m wishing the experience is everything for you that it has been for me.
Yvan says
Hello,
By the way, I’m “sorry” to say that Maki, Ingrid and Eagle are in Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper the last installment of the Street Fighter Alpha franchise… and to add also the Street Fighter (the original game) characters : Mike, Joe, Lee, Retsu and again Eagle…
Will says
Great work! I’m starting a new game group and this resource has been invaluable!
Forrest says
Greetings, sensei!
It’s been a few months since I’ve last harassed you – Street Fighter’s 25th anniversary is in full swing, and I’m hoping that awesome G-file of yours will be complete in time to add to the celebration. How’s it going?
Webmaster says
Good news, I have a baby on the way!
So yes this is on the list of pet projects I would like to get done before delivery date, as I will probably never have time to do it after delivery date! lol
Forrest says
Wonderful news! Congratulations!
Joseph Morse says
Hello, I have just recently purchased the Street Fighter Game off of Amazon.com, When I started looking for sites dedicated to the game I found yours….. thus far your information on this site has led to some pretty exciting game sessions I must say. I am looking forward to the updates you are working on, I am sure that they will add a lot more exciting times to my game sessions, thanks for all your hard work. It is appreciated.
Forrest says
Just out of curiosity, have you considered just using text from existing sources for some of the characters, such as The Street Fighter Encyclopedia by Udon Comics? It seems like a way to speed up production and keep your efforts focused on the RPG aspects of the G-File.
Webmaster says
Yep, but I’m thinking of saving that for last anyway, so no matter how I do it the story part shouldn’t interfere with the rules update.
Some of the existing character stories floating around are really short and need to be fluffed up a bit to fill the page.
For Pete’s sake Necro’s whole bio is: “he used to live by a lake, lol”
Mike Haggar says
Hi Webmaster,
I don’t see why me and Poison can’t be in the G file. I’ve been in Street Fighter Alpha in the background flexing on some thugs. While Poison was with Hugo in Street Fighter III. All we need now is for SFxT to drop to see Poison’s latest moves. For me I’m okay if you take my UMvC3 moves and nerf them slightly towards Street Fighter canon. Cause well we all know that in my true form, I might be too much for the other fighters.
Take care,
Haggar
PS. This message has been approved by the major.
Webmaster says
lol, thanks for the input Mike.
Basically because the G-File, for me, is a work of completeness (ironic, since I have never completed it).
As soon as I open the door to Final Fight I would have to do the other 500 forgettable Final Fight characters to be “complete”. All or nothing on the G-File.
Walker Pennington says
Ah, not so! You could just keep it to those characters that have made an appearance in Street Fighter games, which includes Mike and Poison. (and Guy and Cody, but you got them obviously.) Street Fighter X Tekken says Street Fighter, not Final Fight, and they’re both in it! Poison’s ALSO in Street Fighter III. Could even make room for Maki, if you felt like counting CvS2!
Forrest says
When do we get to see an update to the G file, sensei? I know you’ve done some work since then.
Oh, and for new characters, does Street Fighter X Tekken count? Poison makes her debut there. (And while we’re making requests, what the heck – can we get Mike Haggar in there, complete the Final Fight set?)
Webmaster says
I don’t have any definite release date I can promise, but I will say I haven’t worked on this page in years and I’m working on it right now. So it’s actually “in progress” again instead of “on hold” :-)
I’d love to make Haggar and Poison! It would probably be a separate release and not part of the G-File however.
Also thanks for your comment, it’s nice to know the page gets enough visitors that an update is noticed within 24 hours!
