Questions grabs:

Suplex is possible with arm dislocated?
Back roll throw is possible with arm dislocate?
I´m not talking make a block but a combo Speed of Moongoose for Rekka ken
and receive the bonus from speed of moogoose and Rekka ken plus the combo
bonus are: +4+3+2=9.

Rilando: if the guy is using a GRAB or a PUNCH or some other, arm related
manever, then they will suffer -3 (to pop it in) and -2 damadge (since thier
arm feelss funny. However they are wellcome to do most kicks within reason,
and a lot of Focus and Athletic maneuvers, while thier are is out of joint
AND NOT FEEL ANY EFFECTS: however, they will still suffer the -3 speed to
pop thier arm back in, IF they want to do an arm manevuer.
As far as how Dilocated limb works on grab manevuers... I believe that the
idea is that next to all grab manevuers require BOTH arms to properly
execute.
One of my "Andy Maneuvers" is the Human Piller (grab) that ORo has... since
that usese only one arm, i'd say you could do that move without the ill
effects.

Suplex is possible with arm dislocated?

*no. A suplex requires both arms.

Back roll throw is possible with arm dislocate?

* Yes. You only need one arm to pull your opponent backward.

I´m not talking make a block but a combo Speed of Moongoose for Rekka
ken
and receive the bonus from speed of moogoose and Rekka ken plus the
combo
bonus are: +4+3+2=9.

* I've already said this is legal. Speed of the Mongoose has no
restrictions on what can take the Speed bonus.

Hmmmmm....if the character DOES want to run around with One arm out (seems
painful, but fine with me) then what would happen if he were put in a
sustained hold? If you've ever put out a shoulder you know what type of pain
I'm talking about....but these are Street Fighters and PAIN is thier game.
Still, does that mean that they should only get Half die, to try to break
out of a hold?

What's you advice steve?

Nah. There are ways to get out of a sustained hold without using your
arms, so that wouldn't apply. I wouldn't apply penalties based on pain
either, for the reasons you've already stated.

Hmmmmm....if the character DOES want to run around with One arm out
(seems
painful, but fine with me) then what would happen if he were put in a
sustained hold? If you've ever put out a shoulder you know what type of
pain
I'm talking about....but these are Street Fighters and PAIN is thier
game.
Still, does that mean that they should only get Half die, to try to
break
out of a hold?

What's you advice steve?

It also looks like Storm Hammer, and Thigh press would suffer minimal
effects from a ONe-armed wonder.
Head bite is iffy... I doubt that you'd be able to keep someone in a
Sustained hold with your shoulder out of joint.

As a house ruling going out to the Arm-less vitcim, what are you feelings on
Punching while they have no arm, Steve? I know you said that they shoudl
still be able to punch with thier other hand for most maneuvers, and that
sounds ok to me. But the other arm will not be able to do much, and should
affect thier guard. I remebre if you have practiced much fighting, but you
are cultured enought to know that when you punch, your other hand stays home
to protect (usualy thier face).
I hadn't been playing that you could punch someone without re-locating your
arm (I like your ruling, so I'll probably change that), but when I do, I
think I will make the guy have a -1 soak to body/head shots. Just like the
Savate styleists over extened themselves and have a -1 soak to all sweeps,
if you only have one hand to work with, and the other stays hanging at your
side, then you're gonna get smacked in the face (or abbs) pretty hard.

Once again, oh grand high and exaulted master of reading between the lines,
we ask you to give us you wise, wise, funny (?!) opinion.

(Oh, BTW you REALLY think that they wouldn't have any harder a time getting
out of a Strenght contested roll? Man... I guess fighters ARE resourceful..

I'm going to have to complain about this one Rinaldo, it just doesn't sound
Kosher to me.
You cant have a fighter that can SEE INTO THE FUTURE <unless and Insite
roll, or you have Mind Reading>. A tactic cannot wait to see if the victim
Blocks or not, and THEN decide to do the most effective maneuver, such as
Grab. If you want the character to do this tactic, then they will need Zen
No Mind (that's what it's for) and they will go at the end of the turn. Once
again on the subject of abort maneuvers, I belive as it stands OFFICIALY
only Block and Jump can be Aborted to....not Rekka Ken, not Knife had
strike, and CERTAINLY not Brain Cracker.

It also looks like Storm Hammer, and Thigh press would suffer minimal

* Quite so. How about cyborgs with cybernetic arms? I shudder to
think. Would the damage be permanent? ;)

Head bite is iffy... I doubt that you'd be able to keep someone in a
Sustained hold with your shoulder out of joint.

* Sure you would. One arm around the neck, legs around the waist.

* since Street Fighters can not technically Block during the same turn
they are attacking, this would not apply.

Once again, oh grand high and exaulted master of reading between the

we ask you to give us you wise, wise, funny (?!) opinion.

* Once I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll
never know.

(Oh, BTW you REALLY think that they wouldn't have any harder a time
getting
out of a Strenght contested roll? Man... I guess fighters ARE

* The strength roll could be to determine if the fighter is able to get
a leg free in order to push away from his opponent or kick him in the
'nards.

Artemis slowly got up from the floor, shaking her head
to clear the pain. "I failed, Yukiko..." she said
quietly to herself, tears forming in her eyes.
Standing up, she glared at Visage, her fists clenched
in rage.
"Listen up, Visage... This isn't over... Amnesia or
not, I can't let you get away with killing her. But
it's clear I don't have what it takes to beat you
right now. One day, when you least expect it, I will

she turned and walked out of the ring.

I don´t know this I make this because other people do in notes in their
fighters:
notes like if he try to grab me jump or if he make a Cartwheel kick change my
action to, what you want mean is the tactics are only to be the pure moves like
move 1- block
move 2- jab punch
move 3- block for combo
move 4- Hurricane kick
move 5-8- Repeat stes 1-4
move 9- Block for combo
move 10- Hurricane kick

but the notes serve for what only for special cases like arm dislocate what do
when knockdown or what do when enemy is dizzy, I think the notes are only for
this but many players send me tactics if the topic if this happen... And when I
don´t use they will gonna furious with me, but I think anyone can say future,
and have the classical case if my enemy use a Fireball jump avoid it, but abort
actions is not valid in combat cards game we say our speed and move but if the
player didn´t want put in danger his fighter he can abort his move now I known
what you want mean.

Andy is right in his last mail I can´t make abort manuvers for special
condictions is like to try avoid everything and at same time known the
future when I said notes this for special cases like arm dislocate,
after receiveing and giving a knockdown, enemy dizzy, but Fighters can´t
read the strategy because that I remove abort cases to prevail the best
tactic and not the all situations abort move to... people, I make this
mistake for myself I realy sorry, I only use notes in special cases
maybe abort to avoid a fireball or grab pass but I need known what the
people think, maybe Andy is right this a typical case for Zen no mind.

I think that you should allow for abort strategies, but they must be as
specific as possible. for example, a player may send you his ten-turn
move list, with a tag that notes "if my opponent uses a fireball or
cartwheel kick and I am able to abort, abort to a jump." that way
there's no uncertainty about what gets done when.

You mean you only abort for defensive actions like an atacking manuver for a
block like I will use a jab and my enemy will use a Dragon punch, but in my
notes are the case if the enemy use Carthwhell kick, Dragon punch abort to
jump.
Only defensive therms jump or block never offensive, right?

No Change

Um... use blind fighting?

Get back up again.

Cut loose with a Dragon Punch or, if I don't have the willpower, Strong
Punch.

Abort to Jump.

Abort to Block (just kidding) Abort to Jump

Block.

You may want to include what to do if the other guy is spending a turn to
pose.

What to do if confronted with speed of the mongoose (though you should
require a Style Lore or Insight check to figure out it is Speed of the
Mongoose.)

What to do if I'm out of Willpower and my tactics call for a Willpower
using maneuver.

This fight is very waited but now I have info about dislocated limb and
blind fight, sorry for the waiting.

Talon Master style: Lua country: Hawaii/Samoa player: Andy

Appearance: Young with tanned skin, he's quite small but has a very tight
frame. Althought in great shape, his face has been rearranged many times.
His hair normally covers his eyes, and is kept long and tied back in the
rear. He has polynesian tatoos across his back and on his deltoids. He
normally wares a Huge straw hat, and a Hawaiian shirt. In the ring he only
wares a short sarong (skirt) and a shark tooth necklace. He has two cyborg
hands...He wares large leather gloves that come up to his forearms (look
like falconier gloves), to try and cover them out of combat.

Quote before fight: "Approach....." and his band starts playing thier fast
beat polynesian music. He walks out, pulls off his gloves, and then throws
away his hat. He bounces with the beat of the music until the fight starts.

Subject: Re: :"Friendly" Fight 45 Jason Mercer VsWhisper.
You may, as I interpret the rules, only abort to Jump or Block. If someone
sends in a strategy that aborts to anything else, that player should be
informed that the strategy is wrong, and why, and then asked for a new
strategy. In my humble opinion.

Oh I agree that players should be allowed to set up specific caswes in which
his character will abort to jump or block, just like you can in the game.
However, aborting to any other maneuver besides Jump or Block should not be
allowed.

OK, I'll admit it, it's cheesy, but I voted for my own fighter!!!!
Really, I do like him though. Danielle Garcia was a second choice simply for
her effectiveness, and I like Talon Master too, for the originality.
Not that I dont like everyone's fighters, i think they are waaaay cool.

Group: streetfighter Message: 4492 From: J. Scott Pittman Date: 12/7/1999
Subject: Re: Blind Fighting
IC: Well, there's usualy an odd vibe from someone involved in the circut.
Of course, I do know a lot of fighters, if I see one talking to a shady
character in a back table, I'll aproach said shady character.
Still if my Street Fighter sense isn't tingeling, then I'll wait for a bar
brawl to start (if one doesn't start in 15 minutes, I'll start one). This
way, if I do well, they'll come to me.

Turn 2:
Sago/Chris Hoffman
(Sago makes a Perception + Streetwise roll and receives 3 successes. The
Storyteller also decides that his Insight could add to his success and
allows him a roll. Sago receives another 1 success.)
Someone was here that could sign Sago up, he knew it in his gut, just like
his manager said. He could start a brawl, that would send the guys to him if
he did well, and allowing that they saw him in the fight at all.
(Note: Starting a fight on purpose could cause a loss of Honor, even
willingness to do so can cause loss of higher levels of honor)
Sago looked around the club. Sure enough, there was a man that just oozed
the ring. He sat by himself, a black turtleneck shirt and kacky pants. Much
to well dressed for this place. He also was talking to one person at a time,
sometimes two, talking to one and eyeing the second. Manager and fighter
talks. Not to hard to spot.
Sago waited until the man was alone, and then approached him.

Chris: How will you approach the man (attitude - intimidate, soft-spoken,
casual, bribe, or other?? Give some things Sago might say if the person
refuses to admit he is a "ring manager" (your character KNOWS he is). Then
what if he is reluctant to admit you into the secret tournament?

Sammi/Josh Diemert
Sammi looked at her manager is disbelief. All her life, she had trained for
this moment. Grueling training sessions, jogging, stretching, putting her
physical form through torture that would have broken most men. All for this,
this moment, this one speck in time when she would walk into the ring, and
fight her opponent, seeing who was the better of them in unarmed combat.
Then she heard the news that would change her life forever.
"It's WHAT?"
"It's rigged, Sam, common! You're not a kid. Professional Wrestling is
pure entertainment. This is your script, and you go by it. You're an actor."
Regis was an older man, one who had promised that with her skill (and
looks), Sammi would go far in the professional wrestling ring. But this was
wrong. Sammi had always beleived, despite the rumors, that wrestling was
real. She had seen the hits, saw the blood...
"Look," Regis said, seeing the disbelief in her eyes, "If it makes you
feel any better, becoming a wrestler is not easy. It takes lots of training,
and some of those hits hits home by accident once in a while. You gotta be
strong, athletic -"
"And willing to lose if you're told." Sammi was furious now, and her anger
showed. But what could she do? She had moved to New York City, spent all her
money on a cheap apartment and some food and clothes. She could count on her
family to keep sending money, but not too much. She had to work to support
herself also. She would have to accept.
"I'll be back in a second, Sam. You think it over. But I'm gonna tell you
this, sweetie, you ain't that smart, no offense. You got looks, and that
will take you places, but you ain't gonna win no science awards or go to
harvard. This is your shot, you better take it." With that, Regis left the
room.
Sammi sat, defeated. She had no options. Then one walked in the door.
"Hi Sammi." The man was tall, very well dressed in his black suit and tie,
and very handsome. His hair was black, his features dark. His eyes could not
be seen behind his opaque glasses. "My name is Daniel. Daniel Shark. That's
my professional name, of course. I couldn't help but overhear your
situation. You know, you do have other ... options, besides the one
mentioned by that manager of yours."
"He's not my manager."
"Thats good! Shows you have intelligence, and taste. And as you haven't
sigened anything yet - you haven't have you? - Good! Then you are able to
hear my offer without breaking any contracts you have. I'm willing to bring
you to a place where you can fight, just like you wanted - a real fight. Of
course, it won't be on TV, but there will be many, many people there, some
of them rich and ready to endorse a spectacular fighter. Now, I'm willing to
pay all the fees and such to get you into the fight, as long as you are
willing to pay me a small percentage of any winnings you might gain - did I
tell you the purse is two thousand dollars? Ah, i see that gleam in your
eyes. Well, there's really no time to think about it, we have to go right
now if you want to be a part of this thing, it's starts in an hour...."

Sammi didn't really remember much of the conversation, it was kind of a
blur. This Shark guy was a good talker, she mused to herself. Regis would
find her *&%$# you note when he got back to that crummy office.
Shark had brought her to some sleazy dive on the docks, but he said the
fight would be here, just to trust him. They talked to a man in a black
turtleneck, then Shark gave him some money, then they were outside by the
dock. Shark said she was in, Freestyle division, ank 1. Her opponent was
going to be some guy named Snake (a VERY common name, Shark told her).
Supposedly, he used Kung Fu.

Josh: Is there anything special you would like to say or do before the
fight?

Group: streetfighter Message: 4493 From: J. Scott Pittman Date: 12/7/1999
Subject: Dark Streets: Turn 2
Sorry I aslo sent this under the wrong subject heading, and diddnt want
anyone to miss it.

Josh: Is there anything special you would like to say or do before the
fight?
I will need a 20 round strategy similar to the ones submitted for the
Friendly Fights to run the fight against Snake.
Again, please be patient! I have the following characters: Sammi Walinski,
Ryuunosuke Vreshii, and Sago. All three will appear in time (Ryuunosuke will
appear within 1 more scene). Have I missed your character? Please let me
know!

How will that apply to combat? How many successes will equal what
difficulty? if I am Blinded how many success do I need to make an attack, or
do I get an attack at a harder difficulty? How many successes do I need to
make an attack at normal difficulty (like some blind men in the movies
Blind Fury - awesome movie])??

Subject: Scott/Josh Blind Fighting
You know, come to think of it, you could use a combination of BOTH Josh's
and my own rules, I think it works out quite well!!

Some from Josh Diemert:
>
>"The way I run Blind-Fighting, is the blinded fighter

>tell roughly where his opponent is. The more
>successes, the more sure of the location."

... plus my own...

Street Fighter Optional Rules: (J. Scott Pittman/Josh Diemert version):
Blind Fighting
If a character's vision is impaired by means of a power, device or natural
darkness, his actions become more difficult. His Perception and his Blind
Fighting Ability (if any) now become very important to his chances to be
successful in any action.
In general, the difficulty of any action while blind can be found by
adding the character's Perception and Blind Fighting Ability, and
subtracting this number from 12. For example, a character with a Perception
of 2 and a Blind Fighting of 1 would have a Difficulty 9 to his actions.
(2+1=3. 12-3=9).
High levels of Perception and Blind Fighting can make it much easier to
fight in the dark, but it cannot make it easier than having vision. The
lowest a character's Difficulty can be in total darkness is 6 (standard
Difficulty).
Of course, the Storyteller can alter the Difficulty of any action based on
the situation (a blind character trying to pick out one blue wire from 15
other red ones is in trouble, for example).

equals the following:

Street Fighter Optional Rules: (J. Scott Pittman/Josh Diemart version):
Blind Fighting
If a character's vision is impaired by means of a power, device or natural
darkness, his actions become more difficult. His Perception and his Blind
Fighting Ability (if any) now become very important to his chances to be
successful in any action.
First, the blinded fighter must locate his target, in the case that the
fighter wishes to make an attack. He does so by making a Perception + Blind
Fighting roll, at Difficulty 6. If the character gains no successes, he
cannot locate his target and cannot make any combat action except those that
do not reqire rolling of the dice (the character may still Block, Move, and
even Jump, although he could not use Jump to dodge projectiles, for
example).
If the character gains one success, he may make an action as described
below, but the base number subtacted from is 14 instead of 12. If he scores
two successes, the base number is 13. Three or more successes indicates that
the character subtacts from the usual base of 12.
In general, the difficulty of any action while blind can be found by
adding the character's Perception and Blind Fighting Ability, and
subtracting this number from 12 (or prehaps 13 or 14 in combat, see above).

What does everyone think? I kinda like it...

Subject: Question about Elementalists
hmm... I remember seeing a post on this earlier.. I can't quite remeber
what I was said but I have some questions

the way I see it.. fireball in ryu's case is a misnomer...
Ryu's 'fireball' is called hadoken - translated (to make it easier for me
to understand) wave motion punch... often its called cyclone punch.
this hints at his fireball being air (rather than a fire) elemental
move... my main question is where does spirit come into it?
(note you often see in the anime, etc a large amount of concentration, etc
to do these kind of moves)

note: one hint to the above explaination is in general ryu's
standard fireball is blue not red - not saying you can't have blue flame
but its an attempt to represent wind... and yes he does have a burning
fireball which was added later, unless you count the old glitch

note: also more appropriately for fire elemental moves are Dhalsim's
various forms of flame (yoga fire, yoga flame, yoga blast, yoga inferno,
etc) and Fei Longs dragon kick (do his special punches also burn?.. their
name suggests so but it doesn't appear like it) and Ken's advanced forms
of dragon punches

oh and speaking of elements ... does Blanka's electricity come under the
same or similar heading? (is electricity an element? ... the
FIFTH?? heheh)

hmm.. one thing I just noticed missing in the whole sf universe (unless
you count marvel games) appears to be water elementals!... theres no
frozen in ice moves, (ie MSH/Xmen:COTA had Iceman, Thano's bubble and of
course magneto's throw hehehe)

Sammi looked around the dive Mr. Shark brought her
to... a dingy place that stank of stale beer and cigar
smoke. Nervously, she rubbed her left wrist, then
sighed and adjusted her vest as she headed over to the
bar.
"What can I get youse, doll-face?" the balding
bartender asked, cleaning a beer mug with his stained
apron.
Sammi fought the urge to grab him by the front of
his bowling shirt and slam his face into the bar, and
replied, "Coke, please."
"Sure t'ing." The bartender reached into a small
fridge under the bar and handed her a . "Anything
else?"
"Yeah," she replied, sliding a $20 across the bar.
"What do you know about a Kung Fu fighter named
'Snake'?"

alright, let me say it again. ryu and the others are not elementals. they do
not gain bonuses against other forms of attacks, as the elementals do. and
the book says somethign about the four elements, air, water, fire, and earth.
doesn't say anything about electricity, sonics, snot, mucus, or any other
form of f-ed up "quasi" elemental you can think of. i go by the werewolf rule
about the elementals. the background allows access to the basic elementals as
listed above. elecricity, glass, nuclear, and the others would be the more
"urban" elementals that the GWs can have access to...

ok... I can deal with you saying they're not elementals...
because an elemental would have to be only of that element (ie.. made of
them not just attack with them) right?

its kinda wierd tho that Ryu can attack via a cyclone punch and the
cyclone punch isn't considered to be of that element!

ie.. I would normally consider that dhalsims fireball would melt
ice! (at least more than a room temperature object would)... or that Ryu's
cyclone punch would hit/move something with the force of an appropriately
strong wind (or in the case of his hurricane kick, accelerate his leg with
the force of an appropriately strong wind)

Subject: Re: Question about Elementalists
When dealing with these matters, the problem normally occurs when a fan
tries to make a DIRECT correlation between the Video Game and SF:tSTG.

Unforutunatley there is not one. White Wolf gave in their source books,
THIER interpritation of the world of Street Fighter, not neccisarly
the same one that Capcom came up with. The did do a very true to game
conversion, though, with only a few loose ends to worry about.
One of the most debated ones is the direct affect/compostion of a
"FireBall". Since no one has ever been hit by a pure ball of Chi condjured
up by the Shotokan'er as a Hadoken, then all we can do is assume. In the
Video Games there are a variety of Fireballs that we encounter, and some of
them have differnet effects. In the RPG, if you buy te manever 'FireBall'
you create a Chi Based ball of fire, that provides illumination AND heat.
As to how a standar Hadoken effects people (burining or just force) most of
the time, it appears that Ryu's Standard blue hadoken (Fireball) mearly
smacks the guy. His Red hadoken (Improved fireball) obviously sets the guy
ablaze, so we have no doubt as to the nature of THAT chi. But keep in mind
that the Red fireball is supposed to be merely and augmentation of the
original fireball. There is one instance in which we see a firey effect on
the Blue fireball: Street Fighter Zero 1.

Go back to your good o' game of SF Alpha 1, and stands some poor schmo RIGHT
infront of Ryu, and have him toss a "Fire ball"....observe the result.

Intresting, no?

yeah I noticed that... (the red fireball thing in SFA1) that was because
there was no additional motion for a red fireball (ie.. HCF+P was
missing).. so the way I tend to conceptualize it is the red fireball is a
stronger version and in SFA1 - it simply degrades quickly, in other games
that have both.. it doesn't degrade, and yeah an augmentation makes
sense..

hmm.. question tho.. a hadoken (the standard blu type) provides
illumination.. thats kewl.. but heat (if its the red type I can
understand but normally?)????
