Subject: Challenge
With Mr. Military still on the ground, The Unknowable(or whatever his
name is) turned to see a new challenger approaching.
"You fight for Akuma? Then make him proud," the voice chimed. Show me
what power is, or else take me to Akuma and I'll rip the secrets from him!"

Whisper challenges unknowable
Group: streetfighter Message: 4358 From: J. Scott Pittman Date: 12/5/1999
Subject: Re: : "Friendly" Fight 40 Mr.Military Vs Unknowledge.
Mr. Military lay on the ground, his eyes dizzy with the pain that roared in
his head. He looked up at Unknowledge, at the others also, at this girl that
had beaten him, Talon Master, all the others. The kid was right, he was an
old man. Two quick wins, then four or five sound defeats. It might be time
to retire, he thought, time to hang up this old man's jacket...

I do have one question about Move 3-4:
Move 3- Unknowledge block for his combo and Mr.Military block.
>Move 4- Mr.Military move 1 hex and make a Foot sweep for his combo but
Unknowledge is
>more faster move 1 hex and make a Dragon punch and Mr.Military abort his
Foot sweep and
>try to jump but is too slow and receives: 3 points of damge and going back
1 hex.

Even though I aborted, I would still get the +2 speed (the new action
becomes the fighters action for the entire turn, and can be changed at any
time, and I changed it before taking any part of my Foot Sweep), for a total
of +5 to my speed. As I see it, Unknowledgeable would get +4 to his Speed.
My Dex is a 4, so Unknowledge would have to have a 5 Dex just to match my
Speed. Did we tie, or am I forgetting something?

Mr. Military was a fighter at heart. He HAD to win, there was no other

pure and don´t have the same taste.

Subject: :"Friendly" Fight 42 Whisper Vs Unknowledge.
Unknowledge don´t have luck in this time, dammit dices... And yes Whisper have made seven points
of damage with his Dragon punch I see the result blame, thinks, scream but result is a result and
I can´t change that.

Whisper style: Shotokan Karate Country of Origin: Unknown player: Azathoth05@...

Appearance: A man in a black gi. He wears a metal mask and has stringy long red
hair that flows down around his shoulders. He wears a red sash and footwear, and
circuits and wires race up and down the length of his arms.

Quote before fight: "Test my strength!"

Vs

Unknowledge style: Dark Karate Shotokan country: Japan player: Npc.

Appearence: Unknowledge is a medium man about 6’0” dresses a light brown Gi, and use a
mask in his face making impossible to any person see his face but the
eyes making a evil impression to anyone, his skins is white and pale.

Quote before fight: "You don´t understand what do you seek"

Move 1-Whisper block for his combo and Unknowledge move 3 hexes back.
Move 2-Unknowledge block and Whisper don´t move or make anything.
Move 3-Whisper block for his combo and Unknowledge move 2 hexes and make a Lunging punch but hit
nothing.
Move 4-Unknowledge move 1hex and try to make a Lunging punch but Whisper Dragon punch is more
faster and Unknowldege receives: 5 points of damage and Unknowledge stuns and going back 1 hex.
Move 5-Unknowledge is dizzy and Whisper move 1 hex and make another Dragon punch Unknowldege
receive: 7 points of damage and is knockout,
Whisper wins by knockout.
Whisper winning quote: Soon the power will be mine.
Unknowledge stand up and says: “You have talent, you win a single battle but we have more battles”
and after this Unknowledge disappears.

Yes but in my fighters the social part is lower I put the order in atributes
pysical mental and social. of course when I made a focus guy I put mental
pysical and Social. If I want a nice fighter I just make this Charisma 1
Manipulation 1 Appearance 4, the other atributes I can´t show here but all are
rank 1 it´s like my brother say write the empty spaces with maximum care and use
the points with attention, but all of my npc´s is okay and I can´t belive you
beat Unknowledge congratulations, you stop fighters sketches? And for you e-mail
campaing if you need some help just ask to me.

the difference is in the pronunciation only, to my knowledge. There are
many ways of spelling/pronouncing the same words in Chinese due to the
differences in the dialects. A lot of the vocabulary is even different.
For example, my fiance speaks Mandarin, but most of the
original-language Jackie Chan videos I own are in Cantonese. As a
result, she can't understand half of what the actors are saying.

I hate being right all the time. S'alright though, he just made me more

Well, to be fair, Gokiwa tends to rely on a certain lizard inspired
uppercut. Besides, it's a pain to send new tactics to Rinaldo every fight.

the way I sees it, adding a Special Maneuver to a Basic Maneuver makes
that Basic Maneuver into a Special Maneuver and therefore precludes it
from taking any more "enhancements" via Special Maneuver cards. If this
wasn't the case, you could have a Jumping Rekka Ken Fierce with
Psychokinetic Channeling and Flaming Fist on top of it. I think we all
agree that this sort of thing is not good.

But you have to pay all the associated costs, right? For the Rekka Ken, I
can't really do that that often becasue it costs 1WP and 1CHi every
time... expensive... and I wouldn't think you could have a jumping rekka
ken from the description. And that maneuver that you describe would cost
a whole lot in ch and wp, so that person would be putting all of their
eggs in one basket, so to speak.

CHEESEMEISTER - I make my Rekka KEn Feirce with Psychokinetic channeling.
ST- OK, he uses an esquives... you miss. Take off the points...
CHEESEMEISTER - I do it again.
ST- He backs up, and you miss. How much Chi and WP did you say you had
again?

I did it basically because he was an elemental, and it seemed to make
sense to me that you could make your fist flaming and fast at the same
time. If it's not legal, I can change it... but it seems no more
imbalancing that some of the high level maneuvers... (Dragon Punch, Dragon
Kick, Flash Kick), and needs just about as much in prereqs, if not more...

Thoughts?

your scenario below will never disadvantage the Cheesemeister since a
player has the option to not perform his maneuver if his opponent steps
out of range in order to save his disposables. In very few instances
(and usually only via house rules) can a fighter whiff and blow his
points on a wasted move.

I dunno... the more I think about it, the more I notice that there is no
hard-and-fast rule; I don't have a problem with someone using a Jumping
Flaming/PK Fist, but Rekka Ken's description is no different than Jump's
and yet I have a hard time accepting a Rekka Ken PK Fierce. That's why
I said the legality was "dubious" and didn't come right out and cry
foul. :) The only guideline is the video game, where Fei Long is always
grounded when doing a Rekka Ken... *but* in the past I've said you can't
always go by the video game.

But you have to pay all the associated costs, right? For the Rekka Ken,
I
can't really do that that often becasue it costs 1WP and 1CHi every
time... expensive... and I wouldn't think you could have a jumping
rekka
ken from the description. And that maneuver that you describe would
cost
a whole lot in ch and wp, so that person would be putting all of their
eggs in one basket, so to speak.

CHEESEMEISTER - I make my Rekka KEn Feirce with Psychokinetic
channeling.

(Dragon Punch,
Dragon
Kick, Flash Kick), and needs just about as much in prereqs, if not
more...

Thoughts?

Gokiwa will accept any challenge, any where, any time. If God came up to
Gokiwa and said, "Put up your dukes," Gokiwa would just nod, assume a
stance, and let the butt-kicking begin.

Of course, if that ever happened, Gokiwa would probably get religion the
hard way.

...this reminds me of an old freeware text version of Street Fighter I
downloaded on my Commodore 64 way back when. It was really cheesy, but
it had a fighter creation kit. I made a character called "God". All of
his maneuvers had the lowest miss percentage, and they all did max
damage. They had names like "Smiting" and "Feel My Rath". And to top
it off, his win quote was "Your arm's too short to box with God."

I was a silly child.

But if someone dodges (esquives) or otherwise gets out of the way, they
still use it correct? If someone blocks, they still use, also correct?
The prereqs and damage of most of these combinations... do they
overbalance anything else out there? (flaming rekka ken fierce for
example, is it overblanced vs. dragon punch?)

Thoughts?

Esquives and Displacement are the only exceptions I know of, which is
why I said "in very few cases".

If Rinaldo doesn't have a problem with it, neither do I. :)

But for general reference... do you think that it is cheesy? I didn't
really see an adavantage over Dragon Punch, etc, and I didn't want to be a
ShotoClone...(Thanks Gokiway!)

I have a bad feeling about it, but I can't quite visualize why. The
only excuse I can come up with is not from a system point of view, but a
story one.

Subject: Chi/Will Expenditure...
On this topic of making a basic maneuver with EVERY speical
maneuver-topped-on-top of it, I was wondering about the statment it maks
back in the "Traits and Systems" Chapter:

"Only one Point of willower can be spent during a single turn......"

Of course SPD, Storm Hammer, and Great Wall all break this rule right off
the bat...that being the case, does it really limit us in adding more
modifiers onto the maeuvers? I don't really have a house ruling on this, as
even my #-crunchers won't go to the extremes and get Light feet, Flaming
fist, PK, etc....
However if encountered I'd probably only aloww them to make One set of
Chi/Will expenditures...
that is for something like a fierce I'd only let them do Psyco Chan. , OR
Flame Fist.... Most of those things don't affect special mauvers hence you
don't really have to worry about thier Base Cost.

I'll admit, whatever rules they have <if there are any> are hard to decifer
