Group: streetfighter Message: 3755 From: J. Scott Pittman Date: 11/18/1999
Subject: Role Playing
Pushing his way past the other people in the arena, Blaise walked over to
Mr. Military, hand extended.
"Thanks for the fight. You have
a mean foot sweep, not to mention that backflip kick of yours. It's an
honor to fight someone who seems to know their stuff."

Looking at Blaise for an uncomfortably long time, Mr. Military finally
extended his hand in response, his cigar blowing smoke away from his rugged
face as he talked. "Any time."
Mr. Military leaned back into the metal fold-up chair he sat on, smoke
rushing around his head like some type of insect swarm that he would make no
effort to scatter. His eyes didn't even seem to feel the sting that came
from the strong tobacco. Up close, his scar, the one that ran down his face,
seemed much larger. It must have been an awful wound to leave such a mark.
Somehow in all the gloom (and all the smoke), Mr. Military's uniform
seemed perfectly clean. His boots shined, his jacket and pants stark white.
His dark African-american features were smooth, his face shaven and his
hair, what little there was of it, cut in inspection-ready military style.
His hardened face slowly turned to Blaise, and he spoke in a raspy voice.
The voice was similar to all those old movie stars that talked in a
half-whisper. Clint Eastwood came to mind, mixed in with a little John
Wayne. "So you gonna' take on this new guy? What's the story behind him?"

Subject: Re: "Friendly" Fight eight: Mr.Military vs Blaise.
Well, honestly enough, I don't mind them either; it's just that when we
first started up about one and a half years ago, players and NPC's were
getting dizzied left, right, and center. Whenever a player would dizzy
another character, he'd stand there and pose. While honorable and glorious,
they really hated it whenever the odd NPC who didn't care about honor would
walk up and whack them. So, we ditched the rule, and everyone was happy
about it.

True enough. I was originally referring to the rule of a person getting hit
in the middle of his combination and then stopping it if he took any damage
at all.

Oy. That single maneuver was my nemesis in the arcades for quite some time.
Led to the "Zangief's a jerk!" outburst incident in the arcade. My
friends didn't let me live that one down for the next month. Oh, well. ^-^

Subject: Gokiwa
Everything is going slowly. Not really a bad thing, for me anyway, but
disappointing never the less.

I savor the disappointment, like I savor every shred of my tattered
emotions. I had lost a fight, and therefor am obviously not ready to face
him.

My uncle, no not my uncle. My uncle died the day he killed my father,
perhaps even long before. He is just Goki, now.

I watch Rinaldo scurry around like a squirrel frantically gathering nuts
while enduring winter's first freeze. Things are not going well for him,
he had hoped for a much larger number of fighters to enter, but this is
apparently not to be.

Would it be honorable to try to help him? I can not remember, it's been
so long and even if it were, I have no idea how. But I like Rinaldo, as
much as I can like anyone anyway. He is one of the calmest, most
unshakeable people I have ever met. He didn't even seem unnerved or
intimidated by me at all, an effect I've had on people these past ten
years.

Part, indeed much, of his problem seems to be Credible. Justin Credible.
Rinaldo seemed to treat his name like a joke, but I didn't get it, many of
the non-english speaking fighters didn't either so it's not just me. But
Rinaldo returned from his meeting with Credible... shaken. I haven't seen
anything shake Rinaldo, not the large soldier, or many of the little
flair-ups that any group of diverse people cause, or even myself. He came
out of his office with a face the color of fine ash. After that, the
trickle of applicants droped to nothing.

I do not know anything human that could even startle Rinaldo. Is Credible
not human? Is Goki still human? Perhaps there is some link between my
uncle and Credible.

I can feel the large African staring at me, Mr. Military he called
himself, not angry or beligerant, but knowing, and quite condesending. I
don't mind that. I don't mind much of anything anymore.

I think that he knew what I was going to do before I did. Am I really
that transparent, that obvious? If I am to win, to take back what Goki
took from me, I must not be, must learn to keep my thoughts from my face.

I turn to face him and see that he was exactly as my mind remembered him.

My loss.

Granted by the narrowest of margins, and unsatisfying for both of us, but
my loss just the same. I had already issued my challenge for a remach to
him, and he had accepted, but Rinaldo had to deal with Credible's arrival
and delayed our match to tomorow.

He towers above me a sardonic smirk on a mouth wraped around a burning
bunch of dried leaves. Yes, he sees my thoughts almost as clearly as if I
spoke them to him. Still, he was the victor and I think honor demands
that he have the right of first challenge.

"Are you going to challenge Credible?" I ask.

He takes his cigar out of his mouth and grinds it into the dirt floor
beneath his heel, "Nah, knock yourself out kid," he rasps.

He smirks down at me and for the briefest of moments, clarity overcomes me
and I understand him. He doesn't respect me, but that's not important, I
all ready knew that. But I knew why he wasn't challenging Credible. He
wanted me to face him first and see how I do against him. To learn about
a potential enemy without sacrificing anything important. Not because he
was afraid, not because he was a coward, but because he saw it as the best
thing to do.

Then the moment of insight passes, and all I can see is a cloud of smoke
and the burning end of his cigar.

I turn away and set out in search of Rinaldo. For the first time in five
years I feel a tremble of fear and antisipation and I ask him to deliver
my challenge. If I win, I show that this Credible is not invincible and
can be defeated. Applicants will sign up and the tournament will get
underway.

If I loose... I don't think that I will, I have already learned much from
the fights I have already been in, but if I do then the others will have
seen how he fights, and can use that information to defeat him. Perhapse
it will be Mr. Military or someone else, or perhaps even myself. It
doesn't matter.

Rinaldo tapes me on the shoulder and tells me that Credible has accepted
my challenge. I give a curt nod and walk towards the make-shift ring.

Let it begin.

Blaise regarded Mr. Military, remembering their last fight. Blaise's
attention drifted as he then looked at his own dusty boots, a pale
comparison to the bigger man's crisp uniform and polished military boots,
his feet sore from all the walking and hitchiking he'd done to get here.
The sun blazed hot those long days, and all at once Blaise was happy to just
be here, in his own element.
"Oh, I'll take him on, should he be pompous enough to challenge me and
every fighter in the arena. Then again, it wouldn't be strange to have any
fighter here have a serious dominance complex and try to take on this
Justin-Credible guy, or whatever the hell his name is, would it?
"HIS story? I wouldn't know. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. Where
I come from, their storehouses are either low on goods, or they're shut down
for business. Permanently." Blaise's voice had an edge to it like tempered
steel. Unconsciously, he was clenching his teeth, the muscles of his
jawline becoming more pronounced, his eyebrows frown and his grey eyes
becoming a little narrower. Suddenly aware of this, Blaise raised a hand to
his face and rubbed his now quite prominent jawline. Almost apologetically,
he relaxed a bit, lit up a cigarette, and shrugged his shoulders.
"Beats me", the redhaired man said "Though I wouldn't mind a crack at
him. Win or lose, I'd like to take that idiotic look off of his face."
Taking a drag of his cigarette, Blaise again shook Mr. Military's hand,
noting his strong grip, and turned to walk off.
"By the way", Blaise said as he was walking away "If he, you, or anyone
else here would like a bout, I'll be around. It's been a pleasure, Mr.
Military. Let's do it again sometime." With that, Blaise walked on and
disappeared into the crowd.

Subject: Re: Role Playing
Wintson took a long look at the fighter as he walked away. He was good, real
good. Not that he couldn't be beat, but he had the right stuff inside, he
had potential. The thing was, he wasn't scared. Most fighters had to beat
back fear, no matter what they had going for them. Winston could see it in
thier eyes, slowly conquering them. Most of them had nothing to fear,
really, in the ring. A few bruises and sore muscles were the worst things
that were going to happen to them. Neverthless, they were afraid, even in
some small manner, and instinct took over, making them much too defensive,
making thier timing all wrong. This guy was diffrent. With a little training
he could be made into a real fighting machine.
Winston took a look around the room. Bonemasher was here somewhere, he
could feel it. Bonemasher was the name he went by, at least, it was how Mr.
Military knew him. He was a spy for Shadoloo, a man sent here to seek out
new recruits for Bison. Mabye one of these guys was that spy. Mr. Military
hated not knowing what Bonemasher looked like. He could be anyone, even the
guy sitting next to him (looking over to his side, Winston noticed the guy
sitting next to him was a small, skinny man, almost completely drunk from
the whiskey he held, and wore old clothes bought at some second-hand store.
Well, mabye anyone except the guy sitting next to him).
Finding Bonemasher wouldn't be easy, but Winston had to try. He was the
key that would lead him to the hideout that Shadoloo had been using for
sometime in the area. Of course, he would have no backup into attacking such
a base of operations. The United States didn't want to risk causing an
international incident with Bison's counrty, that dammed small island out in
the middle of nowhere. That was OK. e could find a few fighters here that
would be willing to help he was sure. Mabye just like the one that walked
away into the crowd....

will definatly be drawing these characters... hey, what about posting a list
of each fight, the combatants, and who won and why as a quick refrence? And
each character's win/loss ratio? I might place just such a listing on a page
along with those drawings...

Nope, Warriors's World was written by the legendary (well, I think he's a
legend) Ewen Cluney and basicaly does what I'm still trying to do, convert
the fist and second Alphas to SF:STG. Quite frankly, this book can't be
endorced enough, it's still one of the best on the web.

I dunno. It seems to me that Bison can get _no_ Chi from the average guy on
the street. I mean, he goes to _alot_ of trouble to get all these street
fighters together (in the video game). Even if he could only get a 100th
from a average joe as what he could get from a streetfighter, it would still
be easier for him to get a 100 smucks together than to lure a streetfighter
to him. In my humble opinion.

While we are on the subject, one of Bison's goals in SFA was to get a
replacement body. That is, a powerful street fighter that his personality
could inhabit. Unless that is one of Bison's personal powers, that should be
one of the things the Psycho Drive can do.

your interrpratation of the rules is diffrent from

coming up with your own stuff and going from there.

Okay first of all I have 2 questions for Rinaldo.
1. Can you post the rules for entering, creating,
being in your tournament I would like to join. Please
also include your e-mail address. 2. When we design a
chacter are we allowed to put alot of story behind him
not background on the chactersheet but just story.

Second I have a question for scott. Is the dog's of
war thing still gonna fly because I've got the
chacter, but I haven't heard from you in a while?

Thirdly I've been waiting a while to ask this, but
does anyone aside from me and my storyteller live in
the Califonia, U.S.A..

Lastly does anyone know where in the U.S. you can
find the street fighter books we have been doing
street fighter for 2-3 years now with nothing more
than the storytellers screen and we'd really like to
get ahold of the books.

Thank You

Subject: "Friendly" Fight eleven Gokiwa Vs Justin Credible
This a fight I don´t belive in hope factor I said it before and
repeat again the guy is a monster but you know about size: When you´re
higher more higher is your fall. The roleplaying quotes between fighters
and Chris put me in the history I´m glad thanks, things like that can
give a life to this, I confess I´m bad to create a good history, but the
players now create their own paths and this good because we going
produce something to all persons read and keep reading at last this
continue well done my friends but now is time to some action, this the
friendly fight eleven Gokiwa Vs Justin Credible.

(this make me have headache) I don´t use merit and flaws rules. Especial
backgrounds like Elemental, Cyborgs yes. Ahh and if you want a history you
can do it you already read the last roleplaying mails from J.S.Pittman,
C.K.Iron and C.Hoffmann, they´re pretty good and for this reason a
background help you. Thanks for support at other mail, some times people

I dunno. It seems to me that Bison can get _no_ Chi from the average

still
be easier for him to get a 100 smucks together than to lure a

While we are on the subject, one of Bison's goals in SFA was to get a
replacement body. That is, a powerful street fighter that his
personality
could inhabit. Unless that is one of Bison's personal powers, that
should be
one of the things the Psycho Drive can do.

It´s time for fight twelve maybe a revenge for Gokiwa, but the Mr.Military
is a "ice man" and don´t lose his cold temper is good fight to all people
see.

Mr.Military style: Special Forces Country: Usa Player: J.Scot Pittman.

Quote before fight: Mr. Military spits out an old cigar butt and narrows his
eyes at his opponent.

Appearance: Mr. Military, an afirian-american, dresses in a marine full
military
dress uniform, and is very clean cut. However, he is almost always seen
smoking
a smelly cigar. His expression is always one of disgust or seriousness. Mr.
Military stands 6 ft. exactly, with black, crew-cut hair, deep brown eyes.
He
bears a scar of unknown origin that runs from the top of the left side of
his
forehead all the way down the side of his face.

Vs

Gokiwa style: Shotokan Karate Country: Japan Player: Chris Hoffmann.

Quote before fight: . ......!!!

Appearance: A typical Japanese teenager in a dingy Gi. Look closer and
you'll see the vacant look in his eyes, the almost invisible grimance of

riped from it.

Arena: A old warehouse with a good number of people looking at fight and
make some bets.

Fighters are a 3 hexes from each other the ring bells and Fight:

Move 1: Mr.Military move 1 hex to make a Foot Sweep for his combo but Gokiwa
move 2 hexes for a Jumping Fierce and is more faster and Mr.Military
receives: 2 points of damage but this isn´t enought to stop Mr.Military
Foot Sweep and Gokiwa receives: 3 points of damage and Gokiwa fall on the
ground.

Move 2: Gokiwa stands up and blocks faster enought a Back Flip Kick from
Mr.Military, Gokiwa receives: 2 points of damage and Mr.Military retreat 2
hexes.

Move 3: Gokiwa move 1 hex and make a Dragon Punch but hit only air,
Mr.Military don´t move block.

Move 4: Mr.Military move 1 hex to make a Foot Sweep for his combo and Gokiwa
blocks just in time, Gokiwa receives: no damage and Gokiwa don´t fall and
stay in his position.

Move 5: Mr.Military make a Back Flip Kick and Gokiwa blocks just in time
Gokiwa receives: 1 point of damage and Mr.Military move 2 hexes back.

Move 6: Gokiwa move 1 hexe to make a Power Uppercut but hit nothing and
Mr.Military don´t move only block.

Move 7: Mr.Military move 1 hex to make a Foot Sweep for his combo but Gokiwa
is more faster and make a Jab punch for his combo Mr.Military receives: 2
points of damage but don´t stop Mr.Military Foot Sweep Gokiwa receives: 3
points of damage and fall on the ground (Knock down).

Move 8: Gokiwa Stand up and try to make a Dragon punch but Mr.Military Back

Mr.Military wins by Knockout.

Exotic Dancing

Exotic Dancing was not intended for combat. Instead, it is a series of
moves and gyrations lumped under the heading of "Adult Entertainment". The
top performers combine the ability of a gymnast and a high degree of
sexuality to affect their patrons. However, some performers have reached
farther into their dances to learn an offensive form of Exotic Dancing.
Already proficient in warding off grabs from their patrons, Exotic Dancing
warriors learn how to use their sexuality as a weapon, as opposed to just
their fists.

In a way, Exotic Dancing is like Capoeria, in that it is a dance that is
used for combat. However it is there that the comparison ends. While
Capoeria works on the physical aspects of the dance, the Exotic Dancer works
on the sensual. Both can be very vicious fighters.

Schools: Almost all cities, anywhere in the world, have Strip Clubs. A
performer can learn most of the basic blocks just by surviving the gropes of
patrons for a while. However, there are very few that teach the offensive
version of Exotic Dancing. They are hard to find, and few are looking, not
expecting an Exotic Dancer to be any threat.

Members: Dancers can come from all over, with a predominance for women.
All walks of life become members, from the rich set looking for a thrill, to
gymnasts and dancers trying to make a break in "normal" dancing, to the
dregs of society, and everyone in between.

Concepts: Strippers, Dancers

Initial Chi: 1 (Exotic Dancing does not leave much room for Personal
Reflection)

Initial Willpower: 6 (It takes a lot of guts to stick with it.)

Quote: There are more ways to fight than just fists and kicks. We look to
the core of our opponent, and delight in breaking him from within.

Special Maneuvers.

Punch:
Bitch Slap (1 pt)

Kick:
High Heel Stomp (1 pt)
Pole Vault (2 pts)

Block:
Slip (1 pt)

Grab:
Chest Pummel (2 pts)
Thigh Crush (3 pts)

Athletics:
Bump & Grind (2 pts)
Chest Pop (3 pts)

Focus:
Seduce (2 pts)
Blown Kiss (3 pts)
Musical Accompaniment (1 pt)

Maneuvers:

Punch:
Bitch Slap
Prerequisites: Punch *, Grab *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 1, Any 2
System: Used to slapping away hands of patrons, The Exotic Dancer's hands
have become very fast. She can knock away the hands of her opponent and
land a strike of her own. The Dancer performs a punch similar to the Jab,
but a bit slower and less damage. But the attack ignores the target's
Blocks. The target does not get to add his Block Technique to his Soak
total against the damage from the Bitch Slap
Cost: None
Speed: +1
Damage: -2
Move: +0

Kick:
High Heel Stomp
Prerequisites: Kick **, Athletics *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 1, Any 3
System: The Exotic Dancer is adept to fighting in High Heels. The High
Heel Stomp is a modifier to any kick. Once the Exotic Dancer knows this
maneuver, she can apply these modifiers to any Kick maneuver she performs.
(She must have a set of separate Kick cards that have "High Heel Stomp" on
them.)
Cost: None
Speed: -1
Damage: +1
Move: -1
Example: A standard forward kick would be +0 Speed, +2 Damage, -1 Move. A
standard forward kick w/ High Heel Stomp would be -1 Speed, +3 Damage, -2
move.

Pole Vault
Prerequisites: Kick ***, Athletics **
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 2, Any 4
System: A standard fixture in any Exotic Dancer locale is a pole. The
Exotic Dancer is proficient in using the pole to increase velocity by
swinging around it. With this maneuver, an Exotic Dancer can land a
devastating blow on her opponent.
Cost: 1 Willpower, a pole or something to swing around (chair, table) must
be present.
Speed: +2
Damage: +4
Move: +0

Block:
Slip
Prerequisites: Block *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 1, Any 3
System: Exotic Dancers normally coat themselves with oil or some other
slippery substance, allowing them to easily slip out of grabs and holds. An
Exotic Dancer using this maneuver automatically escapes from sustained
holds. This maneuver can be used as an Abort maneuver. If used as an abort
maneuver, and the Exotic Dancer's modified speed is higher than her
opponents, the attempted grab against the Exotic Dancer automatically fails.
If the Exotic Dancer's modified speed is not higher than her opponents, the
grab does damage for that round, then is broken.
Cost: None
Speed: +4
Damage: None
Move: +0

Grab:
Chest Pummel
Prerequisites: Grab **, Athletics *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 2
System: Exotic Dancers are usually known for their ample chest size.
Exotic Dancers proficient in this maneuver have practiced a specific form of
Maka Wara, hardening their chest to the consistency of iron. To perform
this maneuver, the Exotic Dancer uses her arms to get an opening, then
rushes in and pummels her opponent in the face with her chest, holding on
with arms and legs. The chest pummel uses the Exotic Dancer's Appearance
Attribute to compute damage, as opposed to using Strength Attribute. The
Chest Pummel is a sustained hold.
Cost: None
Speed: +0
Damage: +3
Move: +2 to attack, One once attached

Thigh Crush
Prerequisites: Grab ***, Athletics *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 3
System: Exotic Dancers usually wrap their legs around something, whether to
hang from the pole, or wrap around patrons. Exotic Dancers proficient in
this maneuver can apply an extraordinary amount of pressure against the
target. An Exotic Dancer's strength is considered 2 higher for the purposes
of breaking this hold. The Thigh Crush is a sustained hold, using the
following modifiers:
Cost: 1 Willpower on the first turn only
Speed: +0
Damage: +4
Move: +2 to attack, One once attached.

Athletics
Bump & Grind
Prerequisites: Grab *, Athletics **
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 2
System: An Exotic Dancer is good at feeling up her opponents. Exotic
Dancers proficient in this maneuver are especially good at finding weak
points in their opponents. To perform this maneuver, an Exotic Dancer rolls
her Manipulation + Athletics versus her opponents Manipulation. Each
success attained by the Exotic Dancer reduces her opponents soak total by
one for the duration of the combat. Bump & Grind must be performed in the
same hex as her opponent. Bump & Grind can only be performed once per
combat per opponent.
Cost: 1 Willpower
Speed: +0
Damage: None
Move: +2

Chest Pop:
Prerequisites: Athletics ***, Chest Pummel
System: Exotic Dancer's chest are usually constrained in some very tight
fitting garment. Exotic Dancers proficient in this maneuver can focus on
their chest muscles, exploding out of their garment with amazing force.
Anyone standing within the blast radius of this maneuver (a forward arc with
a radius of 2) will take damage. This maneuver can even be performed while
in a sustained hold, which will immediately break the hold. This maneuver
can only be performed once per combat. Damage is based on the Exotic
Dancer's Appearance Attribute, not her Strength Attribute.
Cost: 1 Willpower
Speed: +2
Damage: +6 if within the same hex. +4 one hex away, +2 two hexes away.
Move: +0

Focus:
Seduce
Prerequisites: Focus **
System: Exotic Dancers are masters of seduction. Exotic Dancers proficient
in this maneuver have taken their abilities even beyond that level,
affecting the combat prowness of their opponents. When an Exotic Dancer
performs this maneuver, roll her manipulation + focus versus her opponents
manipulation. Each success lowers her opponents speed by 1 for the duration
of the combat. Seduce can only be performed once per combat per opponent.
Only line of sight is required.
Cost: 1 Chi
Speed: -2
Damage: None
Move: -2

Blown Kiss
Prerequisites: Focus ***
System: Exotic Dancers use many different perfumes to affect their patrons.
Exotic Dancers proficient in this maneuver combine these perfumes with their
own phermones for a devastating attack. The attack has a range of
Appearance + Focus. Compute this attack as the Exotic Dancer's Manipulation
+ Focus versus her Opponent's Manipulation + Dodge.
Cost: 1 Chi
Speed: -2
Damage: -2
Move: +0

Musical Accompaniment
As per main book.

I'm not sure about the power of some of these abilities. I'm considering
making the rule that when using the abilities that drain opponents dice
pools (Bump & Grind, Seduce) that the Exotic Dancer cannot use her Dodge
pool that turn. I'll have to test it out.

eh, no need to up the cost. just do the following;

Hybrids cannot raise Hybrid background at all as it's a representation
of your base makeup, which will never change without severe (and risky)
mutation.

Cyborgs have to raise enough money to buy their upgrades, whether it's
Strength, a Special Maneuver, whatever. Cybernetic upgrades, especially
military equipment like that a Street Fighter would be using, costs a
small fortune. Emphasis on the Fortune. I made one of my players
reduce his Resources from 4 to 3 just to cover the basic costs of
installing enough cybergear to give him Cybernetics 2.

Elements; eh, they have enough problems. But if you want to impose a
restriction, make them take a long time of training and meditation to
raise the BG.

Well, I was gonna run fights, but looks like that idea was taken just before
I got it off the ground, grrr...
But the role-playing part of it seems to be catching some interest, perhaps
a role-play e-mail exchange would be an area that hasn't been done... who
would be interested in joining an e-mail Street Fighter game?

In Friendly fight? No but when I start the tournament I will give honor,
glory and exp points, and yes you can send me any note of behaviour of
your
fighter ex: If the enemy fighter stuns them I use a roundhouse.

Count me, this going to be fun, but about the tournament, a thing I think
couldn´t have roleplaying... You, Chris Hoffmann and Krug Iron give a life to
this Mr.Military isn´t only a african american militar fighter he have a
personality now the way he speach to young Blaise from Krug Iron is a great
roleplaying work and for don´t forget Hoffmann and Gokiwa have a great
performance too. But I´m curious you win again against him, what Mr.Military
will talk now.
