Not only is she a sweet woman, but she's a hottie. Ask Darrick. He's
seen her picture. ;) And yes, I have a worthwhile job; I net ungodly
amounts of money doing web- and internet- based software.

Would you honestly feel comfortable worshipping me as a messiah, knowing
that I was, indeed, the Anti-Geek?

(from somewhere off-stage) "He's not the Messiah! He's a naughty boy!"

oh hush, mom. :p

This is true. Also, the normal RPGer is so involved with his games that
he
also almost never has a real job. If you have successfully obtained the
affection of a female, and have a worthwhile job, you could very well be
the
savior that has come to lead the way to a better place for all of us.
All hail Steve!

Just read the rule book...It will clear this block issue all up. Or
are you scared to because you are a speed demon cheese player who
always has fast characters and can't comprehend that there is a way to
block a mega fast maneuver.

Here you go, just for final perusal, straight from the rule book, page 137,
SF:STG.
..."A Block is a high-speed maneuver, but even with its + 4 Speed modifier,
slow characters may not be able to execute the Block before another
character hits with a quick attack. If an attack has a higher Speed and
interrupts the Block, then the Blocking character does not get the benefit
of the Block against the attack. However, if a character uses Block two
turns in a row, then the character is assumed to be continuously blocking
and will receive the Block benefits against any attack in the second
turn."...

I have it on page 137 column 2 line 19 it states
"...However, if a character uses Block two turns in a row, then the
character is assumed to be continuously blocking and will receive the
Block benefits against any attack in the second turn."

I hope that clears it up for you.

I have to congratulate Steve for getting married (and a 'uge raise, way to
go!). I have to disagree with Andy, however. Take my girlfriend for
example: avid RPGer, DAMN cute, and studies Kung Fu. How can you go wrong,
here?

My suggestion for Glory and Honor? Follow the charts in the book. Clears
up a lot of messy stuff that some people might not be sure about. The "At
Tournaments" chart, page 56, SF:STG. As for XP? Make sure to give the
players at least one, just for coming out. The rest is up to the
organizers' decisions. I guess that's you, buddy.

Sorry I just had this dispute with a group of kids I am teaching how to

maybe not, but if your Cartwheel Kick goes off on speed 11, then your
opponents have a problem.

Heel stamp is another fun one. Does no damage but almost guarantees
you'll never get hit.

Then again there's Elbow Smash. Fast and hard-hitting. Quite so.

Congrats Steve! Send us honeymoon photos :)

And to comment on the hypothesis; the average RPG player in Sweden is a
complete nerd as well. I assume it's international. I'm looking more like a
law student than a roleplayer, and it's been like that for almost five
years. So I'm not _that_ geeky.

Yep, nothing attracts a croud like a fight.

One XP each per fight, says I, win or loose. Someone (can't remember who
'xactly) said follow the tournament charts for renown and I gotta agree.

Since this is 'just' at tournament without any real storyline (we, it's
just like the vid game), the 'outside of tournament' renown chart
obviously doesn't apply.

Of course, I know some sneaky storytellers (and I see one in the mirror

I agree with this sentiment. I tried my damndest to get Hui into
gaming, especially Street Fighter. It seemed like a perfect match, what
with her love of martial arts novels, Jackie Chan movies, and background
in Wu Shu. But strangely enough, I couldn't get her interested. The
excuse changed every time, but I finally got the hint. She jus' didn'
wanna. She's cool with the fact that I do, though, as long as I don't
neglect her on the non-gaming nights. :) She 'kinda' likes Anime, but
it depends on the subject matter; she enjoyed every single episode of
Street Fighter II V, but ever since she sat through a couple videos that
insisted on gratuitous nudity, she asks me "is the girl naked?" every
time I buy a new video. And since most, if not all, anime centers on
female heroines, I get to hear this a lot.

Damn. Now I miss her. I wish I wasn't here at my %^#@&!?! desk at
work, and she wasn't in Las Vegas on business. :p Oh well. At least
she's coming back tommorow.

Subject: What is the Ten moves and Gateway information.
The ten moves are the tatic or estrategy of your fighter will use in the
tournament, of course you can change the tatic anytime just e-mail me
(rinaldo@...) ex of a simple tatic:

Move 1: Block
Move 2: Jab to combo manuver (jab to roundhouse for example)
Move 3: Roundhouse
Move 4: move 5 hexes (I plan a hex map and fighters can move)
Move 5: Fierce jump for a combo manuver (Fierce for hurricane kick)
Move 6: Hurricane kick.
Move 7: Make jokes with the enemy.
Move 8: Jab to combo manuver (jab to roundhouse).
Move 9: Hurricane kick.
Move 10: Jump fierce for combo (Fierce for hurricane kick).

I hope the "ten moves" problem are solved, and if you send me a fighter
don´t forget his/her origin country.
It´s a one a one combat animal companion don´t have use here, weapons

Something like that. They would but they would learn alot of moves, they may
forget some ,
but they will always end up with a particular set of moves. the would never
do them all or use them all its ridiculous. and makes no sense.
they will use a particular set of moves thats works best for them.
not only that you claim that shock knows more than 1 stlye.

Ginchin Funakoshi once made a remark about people complaining about not
being able to do karate well, what nonsense when it would take them a life
time to do 1 form properly.

What Im mostly saying is that he has wasted alot of time. All for nothing.

Heres a question for you does shock know Hundered hand slap?
Does shock know Hyper Fist?

Yes, Masters will learn from other arts for diffrent reasons but they will
rarely change styles and will always have a select style. They will
investigate to find new ways to improve their styles(but this is not the
only reason).

this is also a sort of an answer as to why the character's in SF only study
one style. If a person studys two styles and there not having trouble with
them both, then there not training that hard, either mentally or physically.

If a character does study anothre style, it is a related or origin related
style often. Kung fu will often learn other types of kung fu
such as in Gens place or Karate students will often learn another japanese
style.

The interesting thing about this is that it is exactly what bruce lee talked
about in regards to jeet kune do.
What bruce lee said in jeet kune do is nothing new. you may find much of
what he is saying in tons of other books, Or even in the book of five rings.

Group: streetfighter Message: 3141 From: Robert Pascuttini Date: 11/6/1999
Subject: Re: POLL: Who Can Shock Beat
Ok slight reality slap for everyone here. We must all first realize that it
is an RPG that was played a game that was based upon imagination, part of it
is allowing shock to beat apocalypse.
So lets not try to get out of hand.
While this is true it does not end our conversation, we should not think,
"yes thats true, ah hell with it he can do anything he wants,
its his game." We whould not have put such emotion into our resonses.

Secondly the questioning here is in refference to the judges allowance of
the character shock and the way he treats him along with who he has
challanged and the out come of his results

As to shock defeating Apocalypse, I cant say, the best way to deal with it
is to pick up an old copy of Marvel super heroes RPG
or the new marvel superheroes role playing game.
And im pretty sure apocalypse could lift between 75 to 100 tons.
his strength would be off the scale more than any one here probably thinks.
On top of that he is able to manipulate the molecules in his body,
Molecules, not cells.
An apocalypse him self has other ways of dealing with people other than hand
to hand combat. Rpg wise or comic wise, he would have escaped leaving the
players in a deathtrap instead of being beaten.

Game wise, Either the Marvel characters were weakened or the SF characters
were improved, I cant remember which, but it would have been a waste of a
quarter if apocalypse couldnt be beaten.

Did you ever make it difficult for shock to win? Did the villains ever
cheat? Was shock ever put into a extremmly difficult situation?

If you want to make an interesting story for shock, try one of the
following.
Weaken him, your choice on how you do it, poison, amnesia?
I dont know what ever you want. Maybe apocalypse infects him with a disease
that gets him really sick. and then let him fight the villain. Im pretty
sure things woulld be interesting for him.
Or do what they did to Goku in Dragon Ball GT, reduce him to a child
and he cant do all his moves because they take strain on the body, at a
young age it would kill him.

Or play it the opposite way. Shock becomes a god. OR is worshipped heavily.
How would he react when the entire popultaion begins doing things in his
name.("This bastard disaproves off shock, KILL HIM!")
And since you like to mix it up with alternate universese, the challange can
be shock him self, a clone of him. Im pretty sure that hes lost enough blood
on the battle feilds for someone do pick up a sample of blood and to clone
him.

What are you asking him to prove byt the way?, that shock would take the
villains down no problem?

By the way what do the other players think of shock?

Im not going to comment on the language use, thas between you two.

But stat wise I thing your both a little off.

His strength would not be 10
If anything it would be what ever he wanted it to be with a max
of at least 30 to 50 as a rough estimated guess
Stamina ywould range pretty high as well on top of that he
has bio-organic body armour.
Ronin Eric...To say that manipulation didnt matter shows that you did not
play apocalypse out fully. Manipulation does matter. The stat wouldnt be
there if it didnt matter.
actually his mental stats would be about 15. he did manage to somehow attain
a ship once used by the celestials, Characters who could blow up earth with
out bothering.

Thats a pretty high intimidation. did you ever make an intimidation roll?
Maybe you simply rollplayed your intimidations, I dont know.

Sigh. Andy,
Lee is not Gen's son nor can you find any proof to back that up.
I know, Ive been researching Street fighter for the last 2 years.
It is also the reason I dont fully follow videogames.com's
street fighter story or inforamtion about the characters
because they are the only origin of that info.

I also contacted Capcom in order to gain info on street fighter.
I asked them if Yun and Yang were Gens grand children but lance at
Capcom said "No but that would be cool if they were."

but things may change simply because I asked that question.

Subject: Re: Duelists
I got to do the same Chris
Heres my reply:

I dont agree that it was a "story that was happening during a tournament".
The SFa series of games best demonstrates the idea of the characters
wandering around and challanging one another when they meet each other as
the RPG states. This clearly happens when you play as sakura (or is it Ken)
in SFA3. Sakura approaches ken and says
"Ken I challange you."
This is also shown as none of the characters end at a tournament,
especially at the end of sfa3 where they fight at bisons base.
And especially charlie who gets killed in all the SFA series games except
Sfa3.

If you mean that it was a freestyle tournament where the characters wander
and try to challange another as per the RPG game, then yes I agree but I
dont beleive it is a tournament with placings as shown ins
SF2 and SF1.

I do not beleive all the characters in SFA series are world warrior.
It would be ridiculous to think so. I doubt very much that Sakura and Karin
are world warriors.

The way I see it is as though the main world warriors are determined in SF2
but the other characters either try to become or are on there way.

Im sorry but the video game doesnt show that

Ahh chris...Actually I think it was a flaming dragon punch he defeated
sagat with. I remember watching it in the arcade.
As I recall there wasnt much of a choice at the end, when you defeated
sagat the computer would take over and do a graphic of ryu doing a dragon
punch to finish sagat. Im pretty sure it was flaming to.

Im not sure if it was the very same punch, but shin Shoryu ken.
Im pretty sure that translates to True Dragon Punch.

But I think your right he is a true master.

Im very curious, I would like to see everyones Idea of what the stats would
be for gouken. Ken and Ryu's Master.

The way I figure it he would be weaker than akuma since akuma killedhim, but
I could be wrong.
