Cool, now I know at least were the story comes from. When I first started
playing SF2 I always thought Dhalsim was supposed to be evil. But then
again, I thought Ryu was evil because I always played Ken and Ryu had the
same moves as him. Come to think of it, I always thought of all the
characters as evil except Ken, because they were all fighting him. Except
Chun-Li, because she was so cute.

Alright, probably more than you wanted to know,

Once again I agree with most of a post, except for the part above. Batman
might not be as good as Einstein at physics, but then again, Einstein, as far
as I know, was not as good as Batman at crime solving. I would say they have
equal intelligence but took it in different directions. Just my two cents.

By the by, I read somewhere once that Batman should have some intelligence

they all stood around like morons and missed the most obvious clues when
Batman was around. (Of course, Batman would then solve the mystery) :)

Ok, I'm trying to make this character as "offical" as possible, so i will
change the following to better suit the over-all view I am receiving.

Batman will have an Appearnce 3, Charisma 3, Honor of 5 and a Glory of 9
(guess Superman in DC would have a higher Honor and Glory than Batman
anyway, huh?

Gee.... why does he hire all of the scientists, researchers and developers

Kitbashing is one thing but, invention and development is totally different.

Good comments, I mean mine too, Kristofer, you are the comment king. I
probably would never use Batman in one of my games. I prefer using my own
creativity. Maybe in a weird TV episode where the characters are sucked into
the Television dimension, where they join forces with the 60's Batman POW!

well, there we go, Batman is up and closer to what i think everyone wanted.
No unique ability to combo, some lessened stats, but as close as I think we
will get to the character. Thanks for the input guys! Any requests for
Contenders 2? While I'm at it, check out The Encyclopedia Combatica: econd
Edition. Tons of new maneuvers i think the game has needed have been
entered - weapons maneuvers, force field, lightning, dodge, and many others.
The list, all together with the original moves, totals over 250 seperate
Special Maneuvers!

no, I think it's obvious that we all don't have a 5 intelligence (I know i
sure wouldnt if I were a character), but some people have brillant minds, so
much that they are legendary. I know that batman is fiction, but surely he
has this level of inrelligence, just not in the Genius level of Einstein in
physics (see my special Genius/Natural Blessing in my blessing/burden area -
Einstein would have this at Physics, while batman has it at crime solving)

Subject: Re: Batman (was: Contenders 2)
I'm putting 'weird" stats like batman and blade up on Contenders 2 for the
sole purpose of Duking it out "unofficaly" with these characters, just for
fun. However, in my own campaigns, these characters can appear on the
Realfighter video game, which was created based on military holo-trainers.
The game can, with the proper equipment, be once again fitted to allow the
training fighter to feel all sensations of real combat, although no real
damage is caused to the participant. So while training on Realfighter, or
for the military, one of these characters could appear and do combat with a
Street Fighter! Then again, they could just show up in a strange campaign
where anything is possible...

You know when I think of the above statement, I really think it is a matter
of skill not intelligence. Batman has incredible crime busting skills, and
Einstein has Awesome Physics knowledge. Neither of them were born with these
skills. They're skills after all. I don't personally believe in an
intelligence quotient at all. But if the intelligence stat is supposed to
cover it all, than neither Batman nor Einstein know it all, so their skills
should differ greatly, But Their worldly mental ability with all things may
both be a 4 or a 3 or even an eleven. It really doesn't matter. all that
matters is they can't throw fireballs.

Chris - NO EINSTEIN! STAY BACK!!! NOT THE 1 MEGATON FIRESTRIKE!!!!

Einstein - Eet eez very zimple you zee. How you zay... ha do keen.

Well, there _is_ that school of thought. :) Intelligence can be a very
tricky thing to define, look at the arguements over standardized test. But
my point is, while Einstein is considered a genius, he was a genius only in
his field. As a matter of fact, he was famous for his absent mindedness so
an arguement could be made (not by me) that he should have a low intelligence
and a very high physics score to reflect this. Both Einstein and Orson Wells
were considered geniuses but the Einstein was not known for making movies and
Wells didn't exactly come up with a new view of physics. So I would give
them both 5's. That doesn't mean Beavis and Butthead should also get 5s. So
what I am trying to say, as Batman has been generally been considered one of
the top minds in his universe, (i mean, he has, hasn't he?) it would not be
outrageous to give him a 5 even if his physics are not quite up to par.

See, the problem with this situation is that even the greatest minds of our
century can't define intelligence, Einstein included. Probably because it
doesn't exist. (how's that for controversial) So I prefer to use
Intelligence (the attribute) as a memory attribute. If the character needs
to remember something I have them roll intelligence. If problem solving is
required, I would rather use Wits, After all it is supposed to be mental
agility. You could even argue to use perception for problem solving, since
your internalized perception can be used to look at an idea or situation
from more than one angle, looking for patterns. Intelligence? what the hell,
sorry heck is that?!!

My reasoning is, since Batman doesn't have near eidetic memory, he wouldn't
have a 5 (then again, neither would Einstein)

The current editor of Batman says that Batman does have near-perfect memory.
if he diddnt, even have studied for a lifetime, he would not be as
knoweldgeable as he is. he has studied so much and for so long, learning
comes easily to him, very similar to having a perfect memory

I think he would use martial Physics, a la Ranma 1/2. he would have a near
light speed teleport (can't go faster, he determined this himself),
perpetual motion punch (Rekka Ken), E=mc2 ( energy body) Thermonuclear
strike , Equation confuse (could be eyes of the snake or blindness maybe
even mind controll).
I'll make one up and post it.

So there we were, a bunch of coin stealing, paper cup picking, 10 cent car
driving, roleplaying morons with multiple puncture wounds. Ah...those were
the days of REAL roleplaying.

Hey, we should do some alternate universe streetfighters. like GI Pokemon, A
Real American Hero! Or Transvestitesailormoonformers More Than Meets The
Eye. Maybe even Mighty Morphin Smurf Rangers.

Any more suggestions?

Subject: List activity....
Has this list ever been active lately! Come home from work and I have 50+ messages to read.

We used to average about 150 messages a month, and now we're averaging 300.
We're not even halfway through october and we've hit 200+.

All I can say is....DAMN!

Well...We have kind of been in the middle of a fluff storm. Although, some
