I personally love the new street fighter comic! Issue 10, just came out and the current story arc focuses on Cammy. The previous story arc has been collected in a mini trade. (the manga size trades)

I would highly recommend it.

As far as inspiration goes something I would like to see when they realse the new books is a supplement cd with a collection of street fighter tunes or better yet a web resource. Running a street fighter session with the "Rocky" theme or the Mortal Kombat music gets old after a while. I like the mortal kombat music it's works well to run a fight to but something that can capture more than just the holloywood movie soundtrack over and over again would be nice.

At this point, I don't care if they come out with Street Fighter Suppositories,
we need *something* to spark some inspiration. When the hell was the last
purely street fighter video game released (not anniversary collection/vs.)?
Manga? Novels? Art Books? Anime? Dojin without porn (do such things exist?)
'cause i don't run those kind of games?

Need to get my hands on the new american SF comic... Anyone wana do a review
of it? Is it worth the time? Are there TPBs yet?

One thing I do want are Street Fighter checks. I'd ditch my debit card in a
heart beat for some of those.

The download seems to work fine for me - but I have added the EC as
a .pdf download in a folder I created. Hopefully that will work
better for you - Thanks!

If the group moderator wants, please feel free to delete the .doc

well according to the 2 sources i told you to check, no ;-)
j/k
he is only in ken's ending making sure he stays an only child.
so while hes not a playable character its nice to see the story
moving along now where ken not only has a hottie but a whole family
too.

oh and i almost forgot, theres an old OLD master in 3 who fights with
only 1 of his arms so that it is fair (showoff)

he beat the crap out of ryu at the tournament where he was looking
for a pupil to pass his art to. so now ryu trains under oro.

so to sum up:
ken has a life, and a family

ryu still has NOTHING and gets beat by old turd-looking guys with 1
arm tied behind their back.

yeah i bet ken has no trouble sleeping at night over ryu being
best.....

Subject: Re: lrgames demo pack
Living Room Games recently provided a download link to their new and
improved demo pack. It's in a thread under the CWT Anncoucement forum at
their site. The pack itself is a pdf file and around 22 pages or so. What
information they provided looks interesting and as I was reading it, I found
myself starting to make notes for character conversion.

Hello,

a player in my group recently asked me if it would be possible to
transport one or more persons with a Yoga Teleport (with an increased
cost in chi, of course). I have pondered a bit about the answer but
would like to hear your oppinion about this. The character in question
is a magician btw (home brewed version).

ERIC: Mmmm... According to the rulebook (that not metions anything about
it), it´s impossible. But in a teleport, the clothes of the fighter (and
other own objects) continues with him after the movement; so for me it´s
possible teleport other people. Maybe would better if the costs were 1 Chi
for each ally "transportated", and the maximum were the Focus of the
teleporter. A test of Wits + Focus could be requered.

I would say no. I think its just you and the only reason your clothes go
with you is because its just better that way. Haha

Sounds like an excellent idea tho for an Improved Yoga Teleport move
(with yoga teleport as a prerequisite of course)

The fighter could even choose whether or not he wanted to follow his
target, giving it a in-the-ring use to port opponents away from
you.(maybe some kind of opposed mysteries roll or something to resist)

That being said there's no reason not to let him, its your game, just do
it consistently and let everyone if you do.

Group: streetfighter Message: 15401 From: Jens-Arthur Leirbakk Date: 11/9/2004
Subject: Re: Yoga Teleport
Well, for a one-time special move at a dramatically appropriate moment
(for instance, to save a boatload of cybernetically enhanced kittens that
have renounced their former ties with Shadowlaw/Shadoloo), I'd say that
all the player needs to do is to smack down that stunt card and let 'er
rip with obscene amounts of Chi.

However, to do it all RELIABLY... You'll need to introduce something like
the 'Mass Yoga Teleport'.

Developed as a technique by the little known sect of mass-transportation
buddha fanatics known as the Monks of the Greyhound, the Mass Yoga
Teleport (or, as it is less formally known - the Bus Stop Special) was
originally developed as a step in the search of a Chi-viable mass
transportation system that would allow monks to zip about on their holy
vision quests with but a small investment of Chi. Largely abandoned after
they discovered the Buss Pass technique, the Mass Yoga Teleport is still
sometimes learned after perusing the holy Time Table scrolls. (These holy
artifacts are also believed to contain the unholy Strike of Interminable
Boredom, as well as the Ultimate Waiting Death, but that's another story.)

Prerequisites: oh, I don't know - how about Focus ***** *, Yoga Teleport?
Power Points: well, it isn't particularly useful... 2 for Chi-related
styles, 3 or 4 for others if open for other styles at all? As Yoga
Teleport is open for Kabaddi only as the base style, I don't think that
really is a problem.

System: When executing this move, a character and any other characters
within the same hex as the teleporting character disappears. At any point
during the rest of the turn, the player of the teleporting character can
choose to have her character (and any accompanying characters) reappear on
the map anywhere within her character's Intelligence + Focus - Total
number of characters in hexes away from the original position.

For instance, Dhalsim uses Mass Yoga Teleport on himself, Chun Li, and
Zangief's pet bear. The player removes Dhalsim and the two other
characters from the hex map and can have the group reappear within
Dhalsim's Focus (6) + Intelligence (6) - total number of characters (3) =
9 hexes away. Usually, a player will wait until the very end of the turn,
after all other characters have finished moving, before deciding where the
teleporting character reappears.

Cost: 2 Chi
Speed: +3 - total number of characters
Damage: None
Move: See description above

With such a move, you don't need ridiculous amounts of Chi to make it work
(as I would require if the player decided to play his Stunt Card to make
this work), it works quite reliably - but the more people you try to move,
the slower the move is and the shorter the range is.

I forgot them also. But I think I will do it like this. Exorbitant
Chi cost (no problem because they carry a (one time) chi battery) and
a test on focus + stamina.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!

So anyway, I've finally got hold of a copy of SF off ebay which I will be
runnin' soonish for the first time.

I'll probably be asking questions once I've got into it. Am I right in
thinking that the general consensus stick to the core rulebook, and the
rules are pretty much not broken, stray into the supplements & you're on
your own?

Core book: good fun

Secrets of shadowloo: most ppl consider this an extension of the core
rules. good fun

contenders: some good, some bad

players handbook: pretty much all crap. a few moves are balanced and
elementals seem ok but mostly crap.

Perfect Warrior: an ok adventure if you like pre made adventures. I
wouldnt consider the french guy who practices crow fu the "perfect
warrior" tho. LeCawww, LeCAWWWW

screen: redundant and has a few errors. also contains a crappy
adventure full of stupid new moves and maybe a few nice ones.

SoSoSThe boss styles are pretty crunched, but not too bad (and they're boss
styles. If they wewern'trunched, I'd feel cheated). You may want to have
Spanish NiNinjitsund LeLerrDritequire Backing (ShShadolaw2 for them, but
MuMuayhai is okay on it's own. A couple of typos in the maneuvers
(LiLightfeet, but the LeLerrDritnly maneuvers are really nice and evil.

PG: A lot of good ideas horribly implemented. Elementals are probably the
best/safest thing in there rules wise. Still, like most Rifts books, they are
great idea sources. NiNinjitsus ususableespecially if you enforce the Ninja
Clan restrictions) if you eliminate the Cartwheel Kick.

Screen: The art is really pretty, and that's the best thing about it. The
actual info on the screen has a couple of typos, but is still ususableand some
of the maneuvers in the insert are cool. The adventure in the insert (and
especially the NPNPC'stats) are all horribly tytypoedhough. Still, I've bought
smaller posters for more money than the screen costs (got it when it first came
out), so if nothing else you can put it up on your wall. In fact I'm looking
for another screen for that very reason.

Contenders: Ignore the rules in the back of the book. The weapons rules are
dumb, the styles and maneuvers (Improved Pin) are over powered (though the
arena ideas are cool). The reason to buy this book is the... well...
contenders in the front. Some are cool, others suck, but it's the place you
get the most bang fer yeyeruck.

PW: The adventure is okay, and the concept of a nearly lost style with only one
true master is an idea that was long overdue in this game. I like the style
itself, but it's signature maneuver desperately calls out for an example in
calculating damage. Oh, and to rebuff the other guy who posted his reviews,
the Perfect Warrior is susupposeo be the bad guy, not the good guy.

I've seen it, but I was very disappointed in it. I'm
probably going to custom order the Street Fighter 2 movie
from Japan in order to get the unedited and unaltered film
to watch.

So what are your questions?

oh cool. if you find out where to get one please let me know. im a
collector of Street Fighter memorabilia.

My question(s) are:

1. In the part where ken fights the cyborg robot (if that is what that
guys is) in the end. Why is it that the dragon punch (sho-ryu-ken)
doesn't have any effect on the cyborg robot but yet when ryu throws
the "dark hadou" it goes right through the guy?

2. Why is it that Akuma shows himself in spirit in the field(where ryu
and chun li go to meet akuma) yet at the end just before the credits
he shows up in the flesh just before he fights ryu. which brings me
to my second part of that question. when ryu and akuma fought at the
end, did they ever continue? and who won.

3 .(second part of question 2) i know that in the street fighter alpha
2 game it shows akuma getting beat and akuma blows up the cave. but i
dont really pay attention to the storylines on the games because it
doesnt coincide with the movies. im just curious to know who won on
the movie and if so, did they ever make a sequal to the street fighter
alpha movie?

again please let me know if you ever find out how to order the movies
that you mentioned

www.jpophelp.com will set you up. Make sure that you
specify that you want the original dvd from Japan and not
the english-only 'Merican release. Be aware that a new DVD
from Japan can cost as much as 70 or 80 dollars, also.

1. In the part where ken fights the cyborg robot (if that
is what that guys is) in the end. Why is it that the dragon
punch (sho-ryu-ken) doesn't have any effect on the cyborg
robot but yet when ryu throws the "dark hadou" it goes
right through the guy?

The dark hadou is part of the Shun-Goku-Satsu (or raging
demon in the subs), the strongest attack in the game. It's
the one that does about 75 to 80 percent of your life bar
if it hits.

The Shoryuken is not nearly as powerful as the
Shun-Goku-Satsu, which explains why the cyborg was able to
shrug off one attack but not the other.

2. Why is it that Akuma shows himself in spirit in the
field(where ryu and chun li go to meet akuma) yet at the
end just before the credits he shows up in the flesh just
before he fights ryu?

Gouki/Akuma was there in the field, he was just using his
Chi to hide his form from view. He may not have wanted to
fight at that point in time -- and he wanted to see Ryu
succumb to satsui hadou and become like him.

With the exception of the fight between Ken and Ryu and
Gouki/Akuma in the comic, it appears that Gouki/Akuma
prefers to fight opponents one on one if he can. If he had
attacked Ryu, he would have had to fight Chun Li as well.

>when ryu and akuma fought at the
>end, did they ever continue? and who won.

I think that given the way the games storyline continue,
they fight to a draw.

>I
>dont really pay attention to the storylines on the games
>because it
>doesnt coincide with the movies.

The storyline of the games and the udon comics are what
should be considered "canon", not the movies. That's my
$0.02.

>im just curious to know who won on
>the movie and if so, did they ever make a sequal to the
>street fighter
>alpha movie?

I've been looking, but I haven't seen it.

I'd also suggest looking for a plot FAQ online, as that
would probably do a good job of explaining the overall
street fighter storyline.

ok that makes sense to me. now here's another one according to the movie:

1. according to the movie Ryu has a tough time dealing with the "dark
hadou" also known as akuma being the "key". now in the game, Ryu is
taken by akuma. which is how they came up with "evil ryu". now in the
movie wouldn't ryu be taken akuma. in other words would ryu be evil
ryu in the movie too?

2. what ever happend to M. Bison? he was in the alpha game but never
in the movie. i know that in the Street Fighter II animated movie he
got hit by a ha-do-ken at the end by ryu and ken but they dont talk
much about him after that

3. has anyone seen the Street Fighter V2 animated series? i downloaded
about 15 episodes on imesh. im looking to get all 23 episodes. what do
you think about the animated series?

One thing you should remember about movies and video games is that the
movies are only loosely based on the games. They take what they like, change
what they want and forget the rest.
Plus I dont think the Street Fighter II movie and the Street Fighter Alpha
movie have anything to do with each other. Well except the fact that its
about Street Fighter. I just view it as a different interpretation of the
characters but not a sequel or a prequel. But hell I could be wrong.

I have seen the Street Fighter series. I actually really liked it. I only
have the first DVD right now, but my friend had all the video tapes.

Call me a wacky fanboy, but I love all three. Ryu is my favorite character,
so naturally I love the Alpha movie, and I prefer anime movies to series in
general, because the pace is quicker with less stock footage. That said,
once I got past the creative liberties they took with the ST2V series, I
enjoyed the Heck out of it.

The other rules are somewhat interesting though:
- Managers for players who want a less combat oriented character. I
created a Indiana Jones style char with these rules (complete with
whip, of course). Of course the GM needs to give those characters
there share of spot light in other situations because they simply suck
in combat, even against common thugs.

The contenders are full of typos and flaws. Some have totally idiotic
techniques. Others show retarded combos. And even other use techniques
in their combos they just don't have. Still, there are some
interesting characters. Especially those nopn-humand NPCs are
intriguing. If only the overall art wouldn't be so bad.

The adventure needs modifications in some parts.

For example: At one point the players are forced to take the train for
a longer trip. The explanation for this is IMHO nonsense. And I agree
to a previous post: The trademark move of Majestic crow kung-fu needs
a power-up.
The desert fortress was nice, though, the underground labyrinth was
way too small (a thing I chenged immediately). Nothing against a good
dungeon crawl now and then.

Oh, tha'ts good to know. I have access to that book if I want it, I would
never have even looked if you hadn't pointed it out!

Thanks Cedrik.

Doh! I forgot about them. Yeah, those are nifty.

I also forgot to mention that there are rules for throwing other fighters
through things that clutter up a given arena (no. not the ref) like you can in
the various SF2 games (the ones that spring to mind are Guile's crates M.
Bison/Vega's statues). Personally, I'd give them temp glory instead of added
damage since it doesn't hurt anymore in the game, but ah well.

Well, yes and no. SFtAM inspired the very cool Ken 'n Ryu beat up Bison/Vega
mode in the playstation version. It was the first Three player mode in SF.

I was checking out the Living Room games site and checking out the cover art
for the first book when I noticed someone who looked familiar (actually they're
all familiar).

On the far right (just to Chun Li's left) is a dude that looks suspiciously
like Doomsday, Temporary Murderer of Superman.

So, who is he really?
