Matt is a idiomatic expression like when you want say crap or dammit about
something you didn´t like or take you surprise.Example:
Player: How much damage I receive?
Gm: Rolling his dices behind his shield ... .... dice are rolled and you
receive 51 points of damage (and you for example a fighter in d20 system
with 70 hit points).
Player: Ahn! Holy Crap! (or in brazilian expression Putz!) Anything else.

russel, "xena", the subject you are replying to is a discussion that
started on 02/04/04. it is now, 02/05/04. that does not equal 2 weeks.

also on this subject, it is not a fight.

it is me not understanding a brazilian expression, asking about it,
and having it explained by my brazilian friend rinaldo.

if youve been out for 2 weeks maybe to avoid confusion you might want
to carefully reread some msgs to be sure what is going on before
jumping in.

btw, can you tell me something about sf:stg? what was your last
campaign like?

Well about campaigns the only I play it´s that one from Ronny, it´s going
good so far but the only problem is the low number of players I think
counting me there is only 2 others players.
But about you guys?

just another way of referencing *you* russel.

saying russel, "xena", (msg here)
is the same as saying
matt, "ringthief", (msg here)
or chris, "staredown", (msg here)
or steve, "doomtrooper", (msg here)
batman, "the dark knight", (msg here)

wow this is kind of on topic. rinaldo and i just compared the english
and brazilian usage of a word, and now were explaining english to you!
j/k or something

Forgive me if I can't draw parallels between rugrats, spongebob, and
Street Fighter. :)

I assume you're talking about the 29 episodes that made up the Street
Fighter II V series. Akuma was hidden through out a few of those episodes.
At least 5 or 6 perhaps more times.

Disclaimer: its crap

im not sure but it should be easy enough to find out online.

So this weekend, I finally get to run a Street Fighter One Shot for my group.

The Adventure?

Han's Island.

Yep, basing the thing off of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon. Already statted out a few NPCs, including Williams (You're Straight out of a comic book!), Bolo, and O'Hara.

Still need to work out Han, but I am confused on how to work his interchangable missing hand into game stats. Any suggestions?

maybe give it weapon stats and allow him to swap it out? since its
made for no armed mofos, not having a hand would prolly not penalize
it, but without an attachment hed get penaltys.

im "Finally Running Street Fighter Again" too soon with some new
guys. so far we have 3 high school students (sanbo, ninja, ninja
[diff clans]), a high school nurse ([darkish] shotokan) (looking like
rival schools already) a playboy (wushu), and a retired soccer star
(kickboxing) who runs a dojo now. all in the same city (same school
too)

I have some ideas but anyone got any more?
some of these guys have long histories of backstabbing and infighting
as DND players so im looking for something that forces them to all
work together and give a damn about teamates, lol. (without seeming
too heavy handed)

just a little more background:

both ninja clans are wiped out btw. so these 2 students represent
like, the last of each respective clan.

the playboy has an arena.

the soccer guy sends most of his money back home to his family.

the sanbo kid was sent to learn it because he had discipline problems

and the nurse idolizes akuma.

lots of neat little hooks i see already but other viewpoints more
than welcome.

Hello.

I'm still running a SF campaign online, but have had so many drop offs
that I only have 3 players left.

So now I'm trying to recruit some more players ^_^

It is situated mainly in Metro City, the town of Haggart, Guy and Cody
of Final Fight.
And it's not 1 group of players, but a whole town, even the whole
world to play in. There can be 10 players which none of them even
meet, but that wouldn't be as much fun as actually interacting with
other players. But the possibility is there if that is what you want.

Anyway.....

The Address is:
http://rpol.net/rpol/game.cgi?gi=3456&gn=Streetfighter:+Metro+City+Showdown&date=1076346357
(If this link doesn't work. Goto: www.rpol.net - under Category Anime
- Streetfighter: Metro City Showdown.

Hope to see you there..

And those who used to play before, I still have your characters so if
you want to play just give me a PM ^_____^

Actually there were a few street fighter series produced. the three I can
remember were "Street fighter V" (Cheesy Voice: Gonna Burn Some Muscle), in which
akuma was always standing around doing nothing in the backround. The second
was the US verson of Street Fingter II which had very poor animation. I saw
glipses of Akuma being introduced into the series, however they cancelled
production before anything cool happened. Finally, there was another US Street
Fighter II version on the USA network. It was on for only a short time. Although the
storyline was much better than the prior US version, it too was poorly drawn.
It was on right before the Mortal Kombat cartoon.

The rules have long since ben out of print. Ebay is usually the best place

And not that I advocate this, but some places have them for download as

Have you ever heard of mushes/muds/moos?
If you go to a white wolf mush based on Vampire or
Werewolf and make a character, you will at least get
the basics of it.
Your stats and abilities(skills) are each rated from 1
to 5 for stats and 0 to 5 for skills. (This is the
basic white wolf system)
Each stat or skill is a D10 that you roll.
You normaly roll oth a stat and a skill, such as to
punch someone you roll Brawl+Dexterity. You are set a
difficulty number, the standard one is 6, and each
dice that rolls 6 or over is a success. Any dice that
rolls under the difficulty isn't. The Story teller(GM)
will normaly tell you how many success you need to do
something, or in the case of punching someone, as long
as you make even 1 success you hit. The perosn can
dodge though by rolling Dexterity+Dodge and getting
equal or more success then you.

Street fighter uses this system but with modifiers,
the first being they use a scale of 1 to 8. 6,7,8 are
still way way hard to get and realy should only be for
the realy tough best on planet types. In the system
Guile, Ryhu Ken all have straight 5 in their physical
stats (Strength, Dexterity, Stamina.) A few do have
higher, such as Zangief has 7 strength.
Another difference is that there are less kills in
streetfighter, though i don't know why. Personaly when
i play i allow all white wolf skills and such.

Anyway another difference is that you choose a
fighting style, such as Boxing, Western Kicking Boxing
or Sambo to name a few. This then allows you to choose
what moves and how much they cost for you.
When it comes down to battle, you have 10 to 20 health
levels. Each point of damage you take takes a point
from your health.
The fight begins with player and gm or another player
if you are fighting each other, secretly deciding what
move they are going to start with. (I normaly get them
to write it down) Once oth have descided, they show
what move they are doing. Each move has a speed
modifier that is applied to your dex. Speed of +1 adds
1 to your dex as far as who goes first. The one with
the higher goes first. Streetfighter dosn't worry
about hitting and such, it is all based on speed, who
ever is the fastest goes first and lands their hit.
The person who lost can either take the hit and
retaliate afterwards, or they can spend a will power
point and do a block or some other defensive move they
may have. Blocks have a higher speed so they might be
able to get the block up in time, but if the block is
still slower, they take the hit.
All moves have a damage modifier and is addes or taken
from your strength and Technique points to determine
how much was done. (Technique points are Punch, Kick,
Grapple, Block, Athletics and Focus. You get points to
spend in them.)
The victum of the hit take his stamina away from the
damage done and anything left is taken to hit health
level.
Thats the very very basics of the system. There are
heaps of different house rules. Some people roll each
dice others use them as a total amount.
If you play around with a white wolf mush/moo for a
bit you can learn more until you find a copy of the
book or can download it..
Hope thats helped out a bit. Keep in mind thats only
the very basics, i'm sure others can help furthur. :)
