Confound it all, whenever I try to connect to that hub, it
says "Connection refused by target machine." Of course, I've never
used Direct Connect before, and for all I know, that could be the
result of me doing something horribly wrong. Is it doing that for
anyone else?

The rpgbookz HUB have some problems for the time being. So you need to
be patient.

It'll work eventually.. And remember to set DC++ to Passive mode in
settings ^_^

Gentlemen-

I have a question of tech and legality

I own everthing White Wolf published for Street Fighter and it's all falling
apart! I'm gonna start the game I told you about, and I was wondering if I
can do anything better than running to Kinko's and running off a bunch off
copies of the books to help the group make up characters up. 'Cause
everybody ALWAYS wants to read the book at the SAME time... Any Suggestions?

Thanks!

First off, your name is Ramon Amado, not the Fabio-esque AmbroseKalifornia.

Which just sounds like a fancy flower pronounced by Ricardo Montebon. "Over

And PDF is from Abobe Acrobat. The program to make PDF files, from what I'm
told, isn't fun. And if you -reeeeeeally- want to butcher your books to make
photocopies of them you're probably going to run into some problems with
cost. It's not cheap to run off the main book.

But if you can find the program to make PDF files, it might be cheaper. Plus
you could send them to your potential players so -they- can print out the
stupid things on their printers at home.

If anything go talk to Wayne, he might have some ideas on how to do it.

I think its a pretty good program.
compression for images is bad though.

I found it very affordable to b&w photocopy my books, and you dont
have to butcher them to do it.

The PDFs reffered to here are already scanned online versions of the
books someone took the time to make ambrose. PDF is just the file
type usually used to be universal with netbooks or documents. (looks
the same and is readable on any system)

All you have to do is get direct connect, look at ronny's old posts,
and see where to Download the PDFs with Direct connect.

Also its worth mentioning that with a little effort and time you CAN
still find the books, Ive been through so many i could have given
everyone in my gaming group a full set, but i gave them away to guys
here instead.

i only recently got Shenmue I and II on dreamcast (II must be
imported from UK) and i must say im impressed. these are some of the
best games ive ever played.

it just so happens that both make EXCELLLENT street fighter stories
too. while i play i cant get over that its just as if someone made a
SF:STG videogame.

playing em really gets my ideas churning out for SF:STG, and makes me
wanna pick it back up.

so in short, I HIGHLY reccomend these 2 dreamcast games to anyone
here.

There was a story in Shenmue? I thought it was a toy collecting game...

I've played one, and by now you should know I don't have a sense of humor that
I am aware of.

And I got every toy. Every damned one. Cost me about one billion yen, and I
had about sixty million different bags of chips, but I got them all. Before I
bought a gameshark to. Muahahahaha!!!

Now all I have to do is get Mew in Pokemon blue and my plans for world
domination are complete.

Well, it's on the order of a 100% mark-up, but it's also a seller's market.
Seems kinda mercenary, but what can you do?

Special Forces Training definitly is Will 6 / Chi 1.

'Shinobi Style' most certainly would be Ninjitsu which is Will 2 /
Chi 5 .

Everybody knows that a good soundtrack can make or break a top Hollywood or Hong Kong Action Film...
So my question to the group is:
What "soundtracks" do you guys usually listen to during an average Street Fighter game?
For me, a mix of 80's power metal, J-pop/anime, and various real movie soundtracks usually works.
Just thought I'd throw this out and see what bites.

ok this is kinda weird but bear with me. i find that when playing a campaign from a specific era it help to play the sound track from it. Like Play in a 3rd Strike campaign listn to the 3rd stirke Sound Track.

Group: streetfighter Message: 14157 From: Robert Zen Date: 12/6/2002
Subject: Music!!
Hello.

In response to Josh's Interesting Question...

Well, I actually make up soundtracks for my games. For my main game, which
takes place in a seedy bar in Florida, I use stuff like Pride and Glory,
beer commercial Black Sabbath, Cash, Pantera, Down, and anything that sounds
like it was written drunk. As for my San Diego game, it's more hi-tech so
I'm slapping together a soundtrack which includes Dope, God Lives
Underwater, NIN, Manson, and some Mexican guitar stuff 'cause there are
illegal immigrants in the game. It's also gonna end up with some stuff from
Tan Dun since I've got 3(!) Tai Chi students in a dojo. A really odd one is
one that I had made for a solo game I was running for my friend Dave. That
one had Blur, Gorillaz, Pizzicato 5, and of all things, Sharon Apple. And a
little Spanish guitar too. Them damn Spanish Ninjas demand their own theme
music you know.

If you know the game you're running, a soundtrack is really easy. And if
you don't have a game, music can be a great inspiration. However, it does
tend have an unfortunate side effect of pointing out just how long it takes
to resolve what ends up being a(in character)45-second fight. That said, it
really does make the fights sooo much cooler in the telling, and is
absolutely indispensable in setting moods or just as background music.

Well, I tire of my run-on sentences, so I'm off to prep for my game. Wish me
luck, it's the D&D-types. I do have a question though. What do you think
is the single best Street Fighter song ever written? Anyone?

Thanks For Playing,
AmbroseKalifornia

Methinks that you may have missed the point.

Not that more SF fanfics are necessarily a bad thing...

also make it searchable by rank etc.

then wed always have a big pool of NPCs like this.

i mean this script:

that makes the nice looking sheets.

The sheet has all the info... I think my main question is, how to
store the information from one generation to the next? At the very
least, it would make automating the retrieval system easy (and, in
the end, cleaner-looking than an Excel spreadsheet).

Unfortunately, I don't know CGI. But boredom could change that.

Subject: Not Playable Characters
Hello,

Folks, I have got stacks of NPC's. Some on the half-sheets and some on full
pages. Different skill levels, styles, and motivations. Warriors from
around the globe, solo or in teams. I have more than I ever really get to
use, so if you want them...

There is however, a catch. Of all who will heed your call, I drag my
knuckles over a keyboard the slowest. I've characters for you all, but I
haven't the slightest clue on how to put them on a computer. If anyone
could gift me with an on-line character sheet of sorts, I would be more than
happy to help.

Oh. One more thing, why did no one else answer for the music question? I'm
curious. Does no one else use music? Tell me!

Thanks.

AmbroseKalifornia
