I remember seeing somewhere a joke style made up of "Exotic Dancing",
complete with absurd special moves and all.
Anyone know where it is?

Reposted from message #3790

Here's a style that's been sitting way back in the deep recesses of my mind
(and it probably should have stayed there!) Hope this brings some amusement
to some of you. (But I think with a little tweaking, it could be a viable
style.....)

Mike Hudak
hudak.mike@d...

f u cn rd ths, u cn gt a gd jb n cmptr prgrmmng.

Anyway, just to show you how low my mind goes.............................

Exotic Dancing

Exotic Dancing was not intended for combat. Instead, it is a series of
moves and gyrations lumped under the heading of "Adult Entertainment". The
top performers combine the ability of a gymnast and a high degree of
sexuality to affect their patrons. However, some performers have reached
farther into their dances to learn an offensive form of Exotic Dancing.
Already proficient in warding off grabs from their patrons, Exotic Dancing
warriors learn how to use their sexuality as a weapon, as opposed to just
their fists.

In a way, Exotic Dancing is like Capoeria, in that it is a dance that is
used for combat. However it is there that the comparison ends. While
Capoeria works on the physical aspects of the dance, the Exotic Dancer works
on the sensual. Both can be very vicious fighters.

Schools: Almost all cities, anywhere in the world, have Strip Clubs. A
performer can learn most of the basic blocks just by surviving the gropes of
patrons for a while. However, there are very few that teach the offensive
version of Exotic Dancing. They are hard to find, and few are looking, not
expecting an Exotic Dancer to be any threat.

Members: Dancers can come from all over, with a predominance for women.
All walks of life become members, from the rich set looking for a thrill, to
gymnasts and dancers trying to make a break in "normal" dancing, to the
dregs of society, and everyone in between.

Concepts: Strippers, Dancers

Initial Chi: 1 (Exotic Dancing does not leave much room for Personal
Reflection)

Initial Willpower: 6 (It takes a lot of guts to stick with it.)

Quote: There are more ways to fight than just fists and kicks. We look to
the core of our opponent, and delight in breaking him from within.

Special Maneuvers.

Punch:
Bitch Slap (1 pt)

Kick:
High Heel Stomp (1 pt)
Pole Vault (2 pts)

Block:
Slip (1 pt)

Grab:
Chest Pummel (2 pts)
Thigh Crush (3 pts)

Athletics:
Bump & Grind (2 pts)
Chest Pop (3 pts)

Focus:
Seduce (2 pts)
Blown Kiss (3 pts)
Musical Accompaniment (1 pt)

Maneuvers:

Punch:
Bitch Slap
Prerequisites: Punch *, Grab *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 1, Any 2
System: Used to slapping away hands of patrons, The Exotic Dancer's hands
have become very fast. She can knock away the hands of her opponent and
land a strike of her own. The Dancer performs a punch similar to the Jab,
but a bit slower and less damage. But the attack ignores the target's
Blocks. The target does not get to add his Block Technique to his Soak
total against the damage from the Bitch Slap
Cost: None
Speed: +1
Damage: -2
Move: +0

Kick:
High Heel Stomp
Prerequisites: Kick **, Athletics *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 1, Any 3
System: The Exotic Dancer is adept to fighting in High Heels. The High
Heel Stomp is a modifier to any kick. Once the Exotic Dancer knows this
maneuver, she can apply these modifiers to any Kick maneuver she performs.
(She must have a set of separate Kick cards that have "High Heel Stomp" on
them.)
Cost: None
Speed: -1
Damage: +1
Move: -1
Example: A standard forward kick would be +0 Speed, +2 Damage, -1 Move. A
standard forward kick w/ High Heel Stomp would be -1 Speed, +3 Damage, -2
move.

Pole Vault
Prerequisites: Kick ***, Athletics **
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 2, Any 4
System: A standard fixture in any Exotic Dancer locale is a pole. The
Exotic Dancer is proficient in using the pole to increase velocity by
swinging around it. With this maneuver, an Exotic Dancer can land a
devastating blow on her opponent.
Cost: 1 Willpower, a pole or something to swing around (chair, table) must
be present.
Speed: +2
Damage: +4
Move: +0

Block:
Slip
Prerequisites: Block *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 1, Any 3
System: Exotic Dancers normally coat themselves with oil or some other
slippery substance, allowing them to easily slip out of grabs and holds. An
Exotic Dancer using this maneuver automatically escapes from sustained
holds. This maneuver can be used as an Abort maneuver. If used as an abort
maneuver, and the Exotic Dancer's modified speed is higher than her
opponents, the attempted grab against the Exotic Dancer automatically fails.
If the Exotic Dancer's modified speed is not higher than her opponents, the
grab does damage for that round, then is broken.
Cost: None
Speed: +4
Damage: None
Move: +0

Grab:
Chest Pummel
Prerequisites: Grab **, Athletics *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 2
System: Exotic Dancers are usually known for their ample chest size.
Exotic Dancers proficient in this maneuver have practiced a specific form of
Maka Wara, hardening their chest to the consistency of iron. To perform
this maneuver, the Exotic Dancer uses her arms to get an opening, then
rushes in and pummels her opponent in the face with her chest, holding on
with arms and legs. The chest pummel uses the Exotic Dancer's Appearance
Attribute to compute damage, as opposed to using Strength Attribute. The
Chest Pummel is a sustained hold.
Cost: None
Speed: +0
Damage: +3
Move: +2 to attack, One once attached

Thigh Crush
Prerequisites: Grab ***, Athletics *
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 3
System: Exotic Dancers usually wrap their legs around something, whether to
hang from the pole, or wrap around patrons. Exotic Dancers proficient in
this maneuver can apply an extraordinary amount of pressure against the
target. An Exotic Dancer's strength is considered 2 higher for the purposes
of breaking this hold. The Thigh Crush is a sustained hold, using the
following modifiers:
Cost: 1 Willpower on the first turn only
Speed: +0
Damage: +4
Move: +2 to attack, One once attached.

Athletics
Bump & Grind
Prerequisites: Grab *, Athletics **
Power Points: Exotic Dancer 2
System: An Exotic Dancer is good at feeling up her opponents. Exotic
Dancers proficient in this maneuver are especially good at finding weak
points in their opponents. To perform this maneuver, an Exotic Dancer rolls
her Manipulation + Athletics versus her opponents Manipulation. Each
success attained by the Exotic Dancer reduces her opponents soak total by
one for the duration of the combat. Bump & Grind must be performed in the
same hex as her opponent. Bump & Grind can only be performed once per
combat per opponent.
Cost: 1 Willpower
Speed: +0
Damage: None
Move: +2

Chest Pop:
Prerequisites: Athletics ***, Chest Pummel
System: Exotic Dancer's chest are usually constrained in some very tight
fitting garment. Exotic Dancers proficient in this maneuver can focus on
their chest muscles, exploding out of their garment with amazing force.
Anyone standing within the blast radius of this maneuver (a forward arc with
a radius of 2) will take damage. This maneuver can even be performed while
in a sustained hold, which will immediately break the hold. This maneuver
can only be performed once per combat. Damage is based on the Exotic
Dancer's Appearance Attribute, not her Strength Attribute.
Cost: 1 Willpower
Speed: +2
Damage: +6 if within the same hex. +4 one hex away, +2 two hexes away.
Move: +0

Focus:
Seduce
Prerequisites: Focus **
System: Exotic Dancers are masters of seduction. Exotic Dancers proficient
in this maneuver have taken their abilities even beyond that level,
affecting the combat prowness of their opponents. When an Exotic Dancer
performs this maneuver, roll her manipulation + focus versus her opponents
manipulation. Each success lowers her opponents speed by 1 for the duration
of the combat. Seduce can only be performed once per combat per opponent.
Only line of sight is required.
Cost: 1 Chi
Speed: -2
Damage: None
Move: -2

Blown Kiss
Prerequisites: Focus ***
System: Exotic Dancers use many different perfumes to affect their patrons.
Exotic Dancers proficient in this maneuver combine these perfumes with their
own phermones for a devastating attack. The attack has a range of
Appearance + Focus. Compute this attack as the Exotic Dancer's Manipulation
+ Focus versus her Opponent's Manipulation + Dodge.
Cost: 1 Chi
Speed: -2
Damage: -2
Move: +0

Musical Accompaniment
As per main book.

I'm not sure about the power of some of these abilities. I'm considering
making the rule that when using the abilities that drain opponents dice
pools (Bump & Grind, Seduce) that the Exotic Dancer cannot use her Dodge
pool that turn. I'll have to test it out.

Thank you for your kind words on my art, I appreciate it! My artwork appeared in Dragonrok, an independent comic written and drawn by Hanther of Hanther comics (who also appears at many comic book/sci-fi conventions). No spider-man yet, but I'm working on it...

As for conventions, I mostly make it to the Mid South Con as an artist, but I have only made it as a guest the last few times due to work complications. I passed out free copies of EPICS there this year. I have attended one convention in Alanta, but it was many years ago.

We may not have to meet at a Dragon Con to game.Don't you live near Mississippi?

Also pittman, I just checked out www.dragonslayergames.com and I must
say your art kicks ass. I didnt realize you were that good from the
scant few pictures of Gateway tournament fighters etc. ive seen.

q, you say your works been in comic books, im curious which ones.

q, you say you frequent conventions all over southern usa, do you go
to dragon*con in Atlanta? I've hit dragoncon about every year for the
past 3 or 4.  We should get a game on if so.

p.s. why isn't champs part of your sf page?

Because it would be confusing... the new maneuvers at Dogs of War were created before the CHAMPS system came about, as well as the styles, backgrounds, etc., and are not compatible with CHAMPS that I know of (they haven't been compared to the CHAMPS system, at least).

How is XP handled? Per win, character design, vote? And is honor
and glory going to be handled per the rule book, or is there
additional ways to add it? Pre-game hype might be nice, but some
people can't write. Others don't have characters that would 'get
into' pregame interviews.

renown WILL be used to get back your chi/willpower, but i haven't
finalized if there will be other ways to gain besides in fight
actions.

XP will be handled X amount per fight. everyone will stay equal XP
wise. I think if you award XP for winning the good characters leave
the bad ones too far in the dust power-wise and eventually the losers
will never have a chance to win. This way its how well you play and
build your character.

pre game mouthing AND in game mouthing will be present but not for
any reward CURRENTLY. (maybe i'll change my mind so ppl will
actually do it)

Some neat things on my site this update:

Added "Purty Sheet Maker" to the Downloads area.
Thought to be lost in my PC crash a while back, but found on 3.5"
floppy! This makes very purty Html character sheets. This is what i
was GONNA use till I hit on PDF. Enjoy it, the coding was a bitch!

Added rough sketches of Caleb and Mave to Pictures area.
Chris, LB, let me know what you guys think before I ink and color
these:)

Also,
Updated Dogs of War and Added CHAMPS to the Links area.
Updated "Buzz" in the Tournament area.

I wanted to get the tournament started but ppl are still straggling
with getting me sheets or fixing the ones they already submitted.
Looks like next week 4 sure though. I have enough ppl now they just
need to finish correcting/tweaking their sheets.

Well, from my experience as player & GM, that one of d classical
probles in games is the tendency of players to be too lethargic,
forcing d GM to distort the whole thing just to make d players take d
hint, or players who are too hyper for the GM style, making for so
much chaos and backtracking the GM loses himself in d way.

A very interesting solution i saw is: Make d plot independent of d
palyers. Don't plot thinking on your players, plot thinking there are
no players. You make a whole story, with a whole line of line of
events, unrelated to what the players do. This way you know
previously exactly how the story will go if they simply do nothing and
look for nothing. You just have to sit and wait for any action of
theirs, that will only alterate the results, not the path.

You don't have to change the plot, because, players or not, it will
move. As you already have a closed story, you'll have much less
need of improvising.

Hope this helps somewhat. If you want a further explanation of what
i'm trying to say, just ask it. It's not as easy as it may sound, as any
GM is forced to break some habits...

Well, i sure will agree with you that their backstory stinks. Stinks like
a black dragon's ass in a moonless night, maybe even worse...

But there are some points in the whole thing that are so conflicting
as to be useful.

1 - If it was found down below, inside a mine shaft, how did anyone
conclude it was a meteor, and not something else, like a newly
discovered isotope ?

2 - The "big, blue, evil glowing stone (a.k.a B.B.E.G.S.)" was found
because while Bison's men were looking for Uranium or some other
radioactive material. Doesn't it mean the B.B.E.G.S. is radioactive ?
And he wanted this stuff for what nuclear reactors (i don't remember
if there was one in Mriganka) or nukes (what i SURE remember a
reference to). What if he used pieces of B.B.E.G.S. in those
missiles ? Psycho power nukes ?! ;-P

3 - In the main rulebook there's a short sequence where Guile
flashbacks about Charlie's (or Nash, whatever) death, when Bison
was dictator of some other place (Thailand, i think). This flashback
shows a scene with 2 contradictions for d price of 1: Bison draining
d poor SoB's lifeforce, and one thing Bison certainly never showed
was Leech. And he doing that YEARS (maybe a whole decade)
before his getting d B.B.E.G.S. that was, supposedly, the source of
psycho power. What do you people say of it ?

4 - How the hell could Bison know there was something special to
the B.B.E.G.S. ? Think of it, a number of miners & henchmen must
have been in contact with the thing before calling the boss. Why
then, it was Bison who lucked out with it ?

5 - The pieces of d B.B.E.G.S. are used by Theons as reserves of
chi and from the it's put in d game, i would dare say those pieces
regenerate their own stores with time. It's a matter of logic: If their
"chi store" were limited (used it, throw), Bison certainly wouldn't give
away such a resource, even to his servants. So, if i'm right and the
B.B.E.G.S. "regenerates" chi. Wouldn't it mean it is a living thing ?

6 - Still in the "living evil stone" theory... Has it come to anyone's
attention that he gives the stones only to his theons, guys with
bodies too weak for Ler Drit, but never to d revenants, guys with
mind too weak to Ler Drit ? And how does it mix with the fact that
only revenants know the "Psycho Rage" power, that comes naturally
to them, should be said ? Does Bison fear giving it to a revenant
might have "interesting" results ?

7 - If Bison killed those who saw d B.B.E.G.S. in the first place, how
do we know for real it was a stone he took out of the mine shaft ?

*adendum to questions 4 & 7: It just came to my mind that Bison's
henchmen DID see something special in B.B.E.G.S..
If they hadn't their reaction would have been something like "Wow !
A glowing thing. We found a white phosforus vein. Just drill it and
call me when it's over." not called for Bison to look. Wouldn't it mean
there was someother weirdness in B.B.E.G.S., beside being a big,
glowing, stone. For that matter, for someone to get it whole, onstead
of mining it bit by little bit, wouldn't it mean it was found in a cave or
somesuch, a place where you could see the whole of it ?

I like that point of view too, specially because if he didn't have
something VERY special already, those dark monks would probably
have killed him & taken the stone to themselves.

And then there's the point of exactly what's those monks role in the
whole matter. They taught their tricks for Bison and seem to serve
him, but Bison prefered to use his failed Ler Drit pupils to create the
Order of Heavenly Unity (who get "powerstones", what d mark
monks don't), his media manipulation cult. Does he distrust them for
some reason ? The simple fact that no dark monk has a powerstone
would indicate that, yes, he does. Aka Zahn, the Heavenly Unity's
leader, does have a powerstone, but i think he's probably seen as a
traitor by his old fellows monks.

The fact that Aka Zahn, a guy with 8 of focus, betrayed his group
jus to get more power, gives somewhat the chills. Because it
probably means the dark monks are lead by someone considerably
more powerful than he is.

And after all this, i would also like to comment that, isn't it curious the
monks don't seem bothered in the least of having a bunch of nuclear
silos in their temples ? What of that, uh ?

Thanks, your advice will be taken. I had tried a similar way of
action in a D&D game some time back, and as I recall the players
liked the game... I think I'll pick up your advice and do just that...
It's not that easy though... when players go around doing not as much
as they should...
I'd really apreciate if you'd tell me off some games you've GMed or
played that went well... might help me a little, as for ideas go...
I love the game, the system and everything, but I still have problem,
running a good plot.

Anyways, thanks again for the advice.

Thanks for the thought anyway.

On a side note: What are the abilities (knowledges, skills, talents) that are not included in the core rules? I know Cybernetics (not the background one) is one of them.....

Excellent advice. I don't have anything to add other than praise.

> It's not that easy though... when players go around doing not as
much > as they should...

Generally, I try to appeal to the players AND characters - this
usually involves making "Good" appear as more objectively attractive
than "Evil" (sigh - its a compromise of my personal principles, but
hey, whatever it takes for everyone to have fun). I also make an
attempt to include the occasional contrived situation that makes a
particular character shine, in order to make sure that all
characters are seen as equals.

If you need to bait the players and/or characters to do something,
go ahead and do it. Use the lure of knowledge, the personal weight
of important NPCs, a sense of honor or duty, etc.

Objectively, the best advice is to create a story with a good
working knowledge of the major NPCs and let the players run amok.
They'll alter everything, but as long as you know the intricities of
the situation as well as the intricities of the NPCs, the players
should fill in all the gaps quite nicely.

Well, it has it's ups and downs, but it's the best free webhost I can find.
Incidently, there is no 8M webhost. the domains 8M.net and 8M.com are owned by
http://www.freeservers.com and you just get to pick from their list of domains.
I chose 8M for the simple fact that I am lazy.

Heh, if you want me to break down the good and bad in nauseating detail, tell

Exotic Dancing and Steve K's adaptation of Tai Kwan Leep (boot to the

Ya know, the yahoo archive does have a search function. In fact, searching is

I don't know how many of you follow comics at all but in the latest Ultimate
Spider-man: Marvel Team Up, Spidey runs into the 'ultimate*' version of
Shang Chi: The Master of Kung Fu.

It's a pretty cool story. A girl arrives in Chinatown where she is quickly
robbed of her bags. As the punks run away, Shang Chi who is working at a
store, stops them with his martial arts, a broom and some fish. Later on,
the gang comes back and starts roughing up Shang Chi. Peter Parker sees and
goes off to change into Spider-man, but by the time he arrives to help,
Shang has already defeated the gang. He doesnt say anything in the comic,
but I still recommend it. Next month, the second and last part of the story
arc comes out.

After reading this, I have to ask, has anyone ever written up the stats for
characters like Shang Chi, Iron Fist, Lady Shiva, etc?

Thanks

Sorry for being ignorant, but is it possible to save the generated character sheet anywhere?

I did 8 character sheets before I realized that trying to open any one of them transfers me straight back to an empty character generation form.

Help?

Subject: Re: Necro....about your character sheet generator...
its just like the chart generator.
your browser is writing the page on the fly so it doesnt technically
exist anywhere and it confuses your browser when you save.

here are 2 ways around:

1. Choose FILE > SAVE AS and be sure to change SAVE AS TYPE to WEB
PAGE-HTML ONLY
OR
2. Right click your combat chart after generating it and choose VIEW
SOURCE. If in explorer a text file should open, if in netscape you
will have to copy the contents to a .txt file. save the .txt file as
a .html file.

Hi, I submitted a silly character for your tournament, but I don't know if you're accepting any more. Anyway, I just wanted some experience with the combat system since I don't have any of the game books and they are so rare. Unfortunately I couldn't find any of the pictures of the characters necro's looking for so I don't have a chance of winning one either. :(

So, please let me play.....beg beg grovel grovel.

no limit besides get 'em to me before i start (no LATE entries)
in fact, we already have more than 10 now.

Matt
p.s. be aware though that playing in the tourney requires regular
attention. if you start and then neglect to come online for a while
you may find that your character has been standing there dizzy.(dizzy
is after a week of not hearing from you)

Hi Guys
It has been a while since I have been on (I hate/love School) and have
been catching up on old topics. As I read the Akuma conversation a question
hit me. Is Ryu Really Honorable or good?

Think about it. Hear are my thoughts
1. "the fight is all that matters" (street fighter II)
2. All he really does is roam the world seeking stronger opponents to test
his skills.
3. He never stops to smell the roses.
4. Somewhere in his soul he has an "Evil/killing Intent"
5. Though he does the right thing and helps people he does it in a violent
way (anime)

well I don't know, I dig Ryu, he kicks ass but that's all he does his persona
has no depth and dose not grow

well I hope to hear back from you soon

Hello all,

I think it's important to make the distinction between good and honor....
One can be honorable and be evil.
Thus, Ryu is an honorable fighter...as he don't use bad trick or abuse a
situation were an ennemy is too weak to fight...

In my opinion, Ryu tend to be a good guy (helping those in need etc...),
but being a good guy don't mean being non-violent...
As being evil don't mean being a sadistic, ultraviolent fighter...

Hope this can answer the topic

You know, maybe that's why capcom came up with the evil ryu concept
and why akuma wants him as his protege?

Still, he doesn't go looking for a fight just to beat people up
because he likes it, he does it as a form of self realisation and
improvement.
