Subject: Re: T. (tournament) time?
originally I had an idea for a set up story like this:
It would be an alternate ending for sf3 where Gill gets his "Chosen
ones", wthe worlds best fighters, and dissappears presumably to the
utopia he spoke of.

this leaves our starting characters to compete in the Worlds
Strongest tourney. kinda wipes the slate clean of world warriors so
our guys can come in anew. maybe even unravel the mystery of where
the others went one day.

but the more i thought about it it had gaping inconsistencies, so I
was just going to have it be your standard set up. Shadowloo is
still in power and bisn is top dog, which i didnt feel needed an
explanation cuz its like, the default setting in the sf:stg world.

which do you guys like better?

Matt

I will, if I can get my computer stabilized.

Stupid cooling fan.

"Sit by my fire, and hear a tale."

I'd just prefer a regular old tournament, the online invitational
if you will. Give bonus XP for wins, character design, character
sketches, stuff like that. That when the 1st annual is finished,
the 2nd annual can be ready next week.

you wouldnt like a little story to go along with it?
I would prefer it your way too, so i wouldnt have to think of a
story:)

also, I was planning on giving exp per fight the same wether you win
or lose. If not, the best few would totally leave the rest in their
dust over time as the best got better and better, and the worst got
worse and worse by comparison.

giving everyone the same exp helps keep it competitive.

Subject: KOF supplement website

Well, I've just taken up a new project that I can hopefully complete by June.

I finally decided to compose a website with all SFRPG material pertaining to King of Fighters, with new rules (including a slightly modified version of my SNK super system) and some modified backgrounds/advantages/manuvers.

Currently, I am rewriting some of the KOF character's stats that I have found on the net, (thanks to people of this mailing list) to adapt them to modified rules.

I have also thought of expanding the KOF saga backwards, way before Geese Howard's time.....into the era of Samurai Shodown and Last Blade (which I shall call KOF: 1899). But this will be done after the page is up and most, if not all, of the modified stuff is in.

Anything reasonable you guys would want to see on the page?

PS: I'm using MS Frontpage for this, so make sure your suggestions are within the program's abilities.

umm, how bout hexmaps:)
Thats something you dont see to often.
I was thinking of doing up everyones stage I convert on my page.
Hexmaps of popular locations from the KOF universe would be great on
your page.

I have a capcom vs snk strategy guide
http://www.tlcnet.com/~slappy/sf/contest/stuff.html
if you want me to scan any pics for you of kof fighters.

Sweet! I always love to see someone else's version of SNK stuff...
What's the URL, BTW? If you're looking for 'more' stuff to write, I've
never seen a good writeup for Geese's empire, other than it's a
'criminal orginization' & 'very powerful'. You don't have to write a
whole book on it like Secrets of Shadoloo, but it sure would be nice to
have a writeup on how his organization works...
If you're feeling really spiffy, you could note which moves characters
gain & lose in each game.. Like Terry has a Powerdunk in FF3 & CVS2,
but not in CVS1 or RBFF... etc etc.

for some reason yahoo has stopped recognizing me as the creator of

I think it was around the time my e mail changed, maybe that has
something to do with it, although im still using the same yahoo

Well, wouln't need a write up....one of the people in Gamefaqs.com wrote up a VERY detailed story guide. I'm gonna ask him whether I can use the info. ^_^

For the characters, it's going to be sort of a combination of all different incarnations. Eg: Terry has power dunk, but will probably have Fire Kick as well. Of course, I will explain why I did it this way.

No way! I had to keep it. It just seemed too cool. Along with
ancient scrolls you've got these creepy Atlantean artifacts and eerie
crystals that act as mentors in the dark arts to those willing to
listen.

Bison's still an evil psychic, but he has powers to unlock the
secrets of the ancients like that guy in El Hazard.

And everyone else, I've updated this section.
I'm now officially taking characters.

I thought that in the games Rose says her Soul Power is the polar opposite
of Bison's psycho power. I can't remember which game it was in, but I'm
cirtain she says that in one of them(& one of the capcom ones, not the other
licenced ones).

Also, in terms of the 'meteor' not being outside White Wolf. There
definatly seems to be a weird power giving thingy in SF2V that Bison keeps
in a special place on migranka, & he does get some sort of energy from it.
It may look like an eagle's head, but it's pretty much the same as the White
Wolf idea. They seem to show it as being really important, right down to it
breaking when Bison gets beaten, but it still being there in the ruble
afterward. But, SF2V isn't by Capcom themselves(it's licenced), & it does
tend to get pretty much EVERYTHING wrong. Just though I'd point out that
the 'meteor' thing seems to at least have a bit more saturation than just
White Wolf.

I'll be doing the writeup of Geese's criminal organization if noone
else minds. Keep in mind that it certainly won't be canonical.

Note: the storyline for my version of KOF will be somewhat canonical.....I intend to fill in all the plot holes SNK left in, and KOF '98 WILL be part of the KOF continuum (orignally, it's a 'dream match').

Also, KOF1899 doesn't officially exist....but I intend to make it up.
So no need to be that serious.

Well, the lack of canonical information on Geege's criminal empire

Sorry, pics need to be 1,000 pixels high as noted.

And I asked for that size because I want a specific
quality/resolution. Taking a smaller picture and enlarging it
provides a lower quality/resolution than what i need (as noted on my
page).

Thanks anyway though but Ive seen these pics from the internet a
million times.

Subject: New Street Fighter Sim Coming...
Years ago I sold off all my Street Fighter role-playing books, but
upon reading the one my step-son bought recently from a used book
store, I now have a renewed interest in bringing new life back to the
Street Fighter STG.

Due to pages that I have found in this group, as well as my personal
interest in resurrecting the Street Fighter STG, I am in the process
of designing my own website where people can come in and get info for
making characters and participating in online tournaments, along with
out-of-the-ring role-playing. It is definitely good to see people in
cyberspace that share a similar outlook to the game as I do.

New Site.

http://www.lunarpages.com/onlinerpgs/SFRPG/Interface.html

Of course the site is still under heavy construction, but I am making
rapid progress. Most of the content will come from the main book and
Secrets of Shadoloo, until I can get the other books somehow. Then
again, I'm going to have to beat up my step-son and get the books
long enough to add the content to the site.

This along with other pen and paper RPGs have also led me to create a
webring dedicated to preserving these types of games.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The first six entries to my tournament have been posted to my site.
check em out:)

Anyone who wants to join should hurry because if I get up to eight
entries by this weekend I will prolly start then and quit taking
entries.
(peter, chris, boctor, jason O? you guys still interested?)

Also, I posted a link to "The Hero Machine".
A cool program that draws your character for you if you have little
art skillz.

to clarify.
pls take down immediately the 2 files you altered to remove my link,
thus concealing that I was the original creator, and the third one
you actually left the link on.

I normally would have let you keep the Chart generator since you left
the link on, but the other 2 files pissed me off.

As I stated in my first post here, the site is under heavy

darn, i was about to have some big fun by changing it jes a bit..

It's availiable for USE, not to leech the script from my server to
enhance your own page.
You are using MY bandwith with your hotlink. and furthermore, a
simple "do you mind if I use that" WOULD have cleared it up.
But instead you just grab stuff and move it to your own page like so
many others without original material.

Note, as it is availiable for download in its original state it does
NOT leech from my site. you altered it to do that.

> As far as the pdf documents, I will scan the pages myself and put

Oh really? What do you call it when you screen capture a Write-
protected document and erase the owners marks? (while not referencing
the owner in any way)

Again, if you had asked first and not changed my document, Id be fine
with you using it.

for the record, neither of those are scans, I created them both from
scratch in word and paintshop pro, using a font I altered to match
the books.

They are my original works you erased the links from and threw on
your page. thats why they dont have all the little imperfections of
scanning. made it in word.

> As I stated in my first post here, the site is under heavy

but we dont all rip each other off.

oh thats original......
whats next? your own C.H.A.M.P.S.?
your own Encyclopedia Combatica?

Everyone would probably be waay more interested and respect you for a
NEW idea.

>...My apologies.

Thank you.
it is so rare that someone actually removes your material and
appologises because you ask them to take it down.

Would you be interested in starting back over at square one?
If you ask me I would be happy to contribute material to your site.
I can even fix the script to work on your server by including it in
the html.

Im flattered that anyone would want my things on their page, just
dont delete the links from the pdf, alter the 'properties',
circumvent write protection, or leech javascript (or anything else
illegal)

Matt

p.s. you REALLY should have seen what i was about to have that script
do. it was going to be a comedic work of art.....

Hi Matt!

I was looking over the new page, and I must say it looks great! However, the addy for my Dogs of War page is not current. My page is located at:

Also, could you add a link to CHAMPS?

I know that my pages did a lot of jumping around (as many often do), but they should be staying here as part of my own web site instead of using free space (No pop ups any more! Down with the Man!). I will be updating my own web pages section in the next ferw days, which was reported as being mostly dead. If anyone has a page they would like to add, please e-mail me the web site and the page address (street fighter role-playing related only, please).

Anyone who wants to join should hurry because if I get up to eight
entries by this weekend I will prolly start then and quit taking
entries.
(peter, chris, boctor, jason O? you guys still interested?)

Also, I posted a link to "The Hero Machine".
A cool program that draws your character for you if you have little
art skillz.

Also pittman, I just checked out www.dragonslayergames.com and I must
say your art kicks ass. I didnt realize you were that good from the
scant few pictures of Gateway tournament fighters etc. ive seen.

q, you say your works been in comic books, im curious which ones.

q, you say you frequent conventions all over southern usa, do you go
to dragon*con in Atlanta? I've hit dragoncon about every year for the
past 3 or 4. We should get a game on if so.
