I kinda like the ending cinematics from Capcom vs SNK 2... that there
is a 'Dark Power' that can be awakened within a fighter. Gouki ->
Shin Gouki -> ???, or Rugal -> God Rugal -> ???.

Man, I love the endings when you beat Shin Gouki or God Rugal...
they're not beaten, they just lose control over the 'Dark Power'
awakened within them.

Consider the 'Steve Wieck' (original designer of SF:tSG) version,
below. I've listed both for comparison.

Cartwheel Kick
Speed +0
Damage +1
Move +4
Cost 1 Will
System: Straight-line movement; Target is damaged and pushed back
once per hex of movement
Pre req: Kœœ, Aœœ
Power Points: CA, NI, WS 2; Any 3

Cartwheel Kick (Steve Wieck version)
Speed -1
Damage +1/hex moved
Move +2
Cost: 1 Will
System: Straight-line movement; Damage modifier is +1 per hex
traveled before final impact
Prereq: Kœœ, Aœœ
Power Points: CA, NI, WS 2, Any 3

On a separate note, I didn't really think Ninjitsu was any worse than

I know the streetfighter book includes the rule of 1
for botching but I can't find any references to 10's.
How do you guys treat tens? As just a success, a
success and reroll it, or 2 successes. I know my
group used to pop (reroll) 10's on all actions even if
the newer white wolf books say to only do that with a specialty.

I allow my characters to specialize at level 4 on everything but
damage, since that makes the combat rather unbalanced, since you
don't roll to block.

If it didn't say to re-roll 10's we didn't.
frankly most ppl do ENOUGH damage already without that:)

If player has a specialty, 2 successes, otherwise 1 success with a re-roll

ORANGEBURG, SC—Solid Snake, tactical-espionage expert and star
of PlayStation's "Metal Gear Solid," questioned the nature of the
universe Monday when, moments after his 11th death in two hours, a
cruel God forced him to "Continue" his earthly toil and suffering.

Above: Solid Snake lies dead on the ground once again.
"Is this all there is?" asked Snake, hiding in a storage
locker while two masked guards searched for him in the hold of a
cargo ship. "Is this why I was created? To suffer? Will I ever
escape this endless loop of grueling labor followed by violent
death?"

Snake was then discovered by the guards and cut down in a hail
of gunfire.

Snake, who has been fatally shot 2,143 times in the past six
months, said he does not know why God deems it necessary for him to
endlessly repeat his mission, which involves sneaking aboard a
hijacked military ship and discovering who stole the walking nuclear-
equipped battle tank known as Metal Gear Ray.

"Why will the Lord not grant me my final rest?" asked a
reincarnated Snake, crawling underneath a lifeboat on the ship's
weather deck. "Certainly there must be a greater purpose for me than
to kill dozens and eventually be killed myself."

Added Snake: "As Goethe said, 'Man must strive, and in
striving he must err.'"

Pitching himself over the ship's railing to avoid a trio of
patrol guards, Snake pondered the notion of self-determination,
wondering aloud whether he had any control over his own destiny.
Before he could draw any conclusions, however, he lost his grip,
falling into the sea and drowning.

"The Koran asks, 'Shall not the Lord of all the Earth do
right?'" said Snake, rematerializing under the lifeboat. "But
scholars have often argued whether the question is an assertion of
belief or a refutation of faith in absolute goodness on the part of
the Creator. As for myself, all I know is, I'm tired of the constant
pain, death, and destruction."

Above: God, moments before determining Solid Snake's fate.
Snake was then shot in the head by an undetected guard,
falling into a pool of his own blood before reappearing in the
ship's afterdeck, where his mission began.

"I often wonder, as many video-game characters do, whether God
forces me to Continue to punish me for my sins," Snake said. "After
all, I've deserted the American military, killed hundreds of guards,
and betrayed my would-be lover, Meryl Silverburgh, by submitting to
torture in the alternate ending to the first installment of 'Metal
Gear Solid.' But sometimes, like when I suicidally attack dozens of
armed guards with only my bare hands, it seems that God is putting
me through hell merely to amuse Himself. It just doesn't make sense."

According to Rev. Paul Flessing of Yale University's Divinity
School, Snake's theosophical quandary is far from uncommon.

"We all wrestle with the Big Questions about the will of God
and one's place in Creation," Flessing said. "But the important
thing is to have faith and try to find meaning in one's life—or
lives, as the case may be. We must remember the trials of Job, whose
faith God continually tested. It seems Snake is going through
something very much like that, with this constant pattern
of 'Continues.' The purpose will become clear to him in the end."

Sidling along a companionway toward the ship's lounge, Snake
considered his ultimate fate.

"What awaits me at the end of my lives' journeys?" Snake
asked. "Is there a Paradise on the other side? Or will it all end in
a full-motion video sequence that hints at a forthcoming sequel?"

The hallway then filled with nerve gas, fatally asphyxiating
Snake.

God, also known as Orangeburg 11-year-old Brandon MacElwee,
offered no comment on His greater plan for Snake, saying He was "too
busy trying to get to the part with the knife-throwing Russian girl."

I've been playing a lot of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival over the
last few days, & it's made me think about a few super combo things.
That is, I see heaps of new rules on putting super combos into the game,
but, in the form that they are in SSF2T(as in, not alpha, or other games,
but just the turbo version of the game the RPG is based on) they are
allready in the game. Ken just has Dragon Punch to Dragon Punch, Cammy just
has Cannon drill to thrust kick, Ryu just has Fireball to Fireball, Sagat
just has Tiger Knee to Tiger Uppercut. There is nothing more to it than
that.

I play by rules which state that you can't combo a special manuver into itself, because you can't do that in the arcades in the first place. Not even for command attacks. Not that I'm saying that this is possible in SCs too....but I'm saying that (at least by my rules) Ryu's FB->FB and Ken's DP -> DP are invalid.

Furthermore, note that super combos will beat out their normal versions; this I intepret would be due to added speed and damage, among other things. For these advantages, like in the arcades, you have to earn the right to do them (fill your super bar). However, as with the arcades, SCs are not infallible......

I would potray Ryu's Super Hadouken as a fireball +knockdown +4 damage, and Ken's Super DP as a FDP X2 hits.

Still, GMs are free to do whatever they want with the system....and this is just my way of doing it. If that's your way of doing it, then I can't do anything to convince you otherwise....

In my group, you can reroll a 10 if you have at least 4 dots in
either of the traits being rolled. (So if you have Strength 3, Punch
4, Kick 3, you can reroll damage on punches but not on kicks.) When
rerolling, neither 1's nor 10's have any special qualities.

The exception is that if you have a 6 in either trait being rolled,
you get to reroll 10's even on rerolls. (So theoretically, you could
keep rerolling 10s and do infinite damage, but that's never happened
to us yet. ;) )

In our campaign we used the to-hit rules. Then 10's would give you one
extra die of damage. PLUS, 1's can't take away 10's.

10's on a damage roll were potential aggravated(Automaticlly when
using focus). You could choose to do aggravated damage with a 10 on
dmg. or you could choose not to ^_^

You know, I'd give you the prize for wackiest campaign if there was

the most fun I had in SF was with my character Igor "the Freak" who
was a huge, slimy beige mutant (not green, though everybody assumed
he was for some reason.) Had loads of fun not taking Evil villains
seriously together with a guy named John Doe (Galin Ra may correct me
on this). We frequently used the aliases "Karl" for my mutie,
"Bob" for JD, and "Bob spelled backwards" for our french friend.

Through joining gangs affiliated with Shadoloo,
and working our way up the ranks, we infiltrated Shadoloo,
to use their resources on meaningless things.
Igor started wearing a large, black helmet, adopting the alias
Darth Igor, and started the Gulf war...
Not surprisingly, We were found out, and did NOT manage to escape
from Mri Ganka. *sniffles* Got fried by robots...
It was grand...

LOL.. Those were the days ^_^

It actually invloves Vega getting his crap beaten out ofhim by JD,
Igor and Pierre.
Afterwards, Igor and JD played chess on his face "_"

NOT very popular. So Vega came after them, nearly killed them and
brought the to Mrignaka as test subjects.

They managed to get loose and tried to escape, but the bots came and
fried them up.

The only one who lived was Pierre. Just because he ran instead of
trying to fight the bots.

As a side note, John doe was a shotokan who BADLY wnated to be a
Ninja. He threfore dressed as a ninja, and called him self John Doe. ^_^

1) You'll want to check out both WWGS & Capcom's webpage for Trademark
information. (WWGS has a little banner they ask to be put on the page, I
think Capcom also does but I haven't made a Capcom fansite yet).

2) You'll probably be better off referencing anything currently in WWGS
materials. (Especially in print), it'll save on their word count limits.
(List 'highly appropriate' Merits and Flaws from books like the Hunter
Player's Guide)

3) Give credit where it's due. If you do decide to include the full wording
of a merit, but change it slightly to fit Street Fighter, still reference
the original.

4) Take credit where it's due. Let people know which parts you've come up
with, and are original. (Super Combos).

Heh.

What you are seeing, is called Favicon. It is a 16 x 16 image that, when
linked correctly in the HTML code, will show up in the address bar. In the
HEAD section of your HTML code you would link to it like this:

<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="/favicon.ico">

Take a look at this site: http://www.favicon.com . It'll explain the whole
process. And I do know what you mean about shiny - I've been thinking
about one for my own site as well.

Alright here's how my group did it for everything
white-wolf. 10's were counted and then rerolled 1's
removed successes starting with 10's and then working
their way down. If you had a speciality in an ability
it made it so that 1's didn't remove 10's they still
removed other successes. On a interesting little note
when we first started playing last year we just
skimmed the combat system since we figured we knew it.
Man did that make moves more lethal because we rolled
to soak like normal instead of just subtracting.

Are you going to make the Psycho squad M. Bison and Rose were in too?

That would be cool.

Subject: Re: Hex map
Most game stores will have a hexmap for sale. Old BattleTech maps
(especially fun for those that aren't dorky enough to have their own
terrain from Warhammer games ;) work pretty well, too.

I usually overlay a piece of plexiglass on top of a blank hexmap and
draw in arena features. Though the BattleTech maps are good for
outdoor fights.

I deleted J.J.'s just for space but it was really good
sugestions. As for chaning the name to avoid screwing
with copyrights that'll work for capcom but not white
wolf because the system is copyrighted. And as far as
not making any money so it'll be legal. Well
remember the big uproar about napster it was found
that their distrbuting mp3s was illegal. (Which means
if I give you a cd with songs on it you never
purchased it illegal. Freakin retarded but i digress)
Course white wolf is cool and do things the way J.J.
said and they'll probally be chill with it.

I dont think its neccesary really.
I mean, the same thing can be accomplished by posting your house
rules somewhere.

I dont think its right to call it "SF: second edition" or anything
because its so unofficial. if we all work on it we'll never agree. if
you do it yourself, just call it your rules, or your clarifications,
which is more truthfull.

thats just my oppinion though.
take it into account or ignore it, whichever you like better.

also I dont think it would be a copyright issue period as long as you
didnt call it something inflated like "SF:STG Second edition".
ppl post their rules and stuff all the time using existing systems.
it probably wouldnt matter what you called it really though. you
dont see white wolf breathing down pittmans neck because of
the "Official" rules or clarifications on his site:)

Subject: regarding Akuma's Stamina
In the Zero/Alpha series video games, Akuma (and ESPECIALLY Shin
Akuma) takes increased damage from attacks.

With this in mind, wouldn't perhaps 6/7/4 be appropriate?

Just wondering out loud.

Subject: New poll for streetfighter
Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
streetfighter group:

What happens when you Jump over a
Repeating Fireball?

o Roll to Jump each fireball, individually. Those fireballs you fail to Jump are hits.
o Roll to avoid the fireballs with Jump. However, the first missed roll signals that "the Jump has ended" (from the Jump system description). Therefore, the fireball you failed to Jump and all successive fireballs each hit.
o Roll once (monolithically) for all fireball attacks. Either all fireballs hit or all fireballs miss.
