Besides, I already asked white wolf and announced I was part of a club that has over 200 members that would like to see the book reproduced. They said they are not allowed to reproduce a Street Fighter book or to give permission for such a book as they no longer can legally do so, as the license they had for the Street Fighter characters has expired. In other words, they can't say "yes" even if they wanted to.
Good luck getting Capcom "on the line".

I have suggested before that we get together and make a .rtf file of the book. Each of us interested in such a book should volunteer to write a page or three directly from the book, word for word. Then we could combine our efforts together to form the book without any of us having to write the entire thing.

Not that I would ever condone such a thing, but if this subject is interesting to anyone, you could e-mail me at joespitt@... and we could figure out what pages we would each type out hypothetically.

Hello,

Maybe if we ask them something like that :
we got X people , with the following name and adress, and we would like to
reproduct the book, because all those people are fan and really hope to have
those books.

So maybe they will not fear to grant us autorization, i presume they fear if
they do they will have thousands of copy running around. If we ask them the
autorization for a fixed number, that can decide them.

Later all

Brawling-(Cody, birdie)
Kanzuki-Ryuu-(karin)
Mystic-(garuda, oro, rose, gill, urien)
Ni-Jihan Desu-(sodom)
Shoot Fighting-(blaire)

I was debating if i wanted to type or scan and someone said they
wanted scans so they could have all the pretty pictures, so im just
gonna scan it. I'd still be interested in helping you with a typed
verion though if you need it.

I did like 20 pages in less then an hour scanning them to jpeg so I
think If I have some time this weekend I should be able to finish the
main book. then I'll start on the rest.

.jpg format stinks, but if thats all thats available...

I'll try to get a bootleg Adobe Pagemaker and work from there. I
have the Marvel Super Heroes Advanced set and 5 supplements on .pdf
and they're 20mb (512 pages total); your indication that the .jpg
files are going to be 30mb is looking ugly, since once you start a
collection, I know I'm going to have a void in the pit of my gaming
stomache until I can get ALL the supplements digitally.

The process to make the Marvel books was a little arduous, I gather,
since it appears that whoever did it used text recognition software
on the text and added the pictures afterwards. There are slight
typos everywhere (1D instead of 10, ID reading as 10, that sort of
thing) but the size of the files are much more manageable, not to
mention easier to print (especially for those of us that are anal
like me, and absolutely need double-sided printouts).

Once you get the images scanned in, I can convert them to a document
file easily (text recognition software). Maintaining the pictures
would be difficult without Pagemaker, though.

Oh yeah, nice group. I recently have gotten back into playing SF
after an extended hiatus of sword and sorcery melancholy and drama.
Glad to be here. Its Clobberin' Time!

i would prefer text too but my text recognition sux. it would have
so many typos its ridiculous! this is due in small part also to the
books im using. they're tore up from the floor up, i wont subject my
good ones to the rigors of my scanner:)

what other format would you like besides jpeg? bmp is HUGE and gif
only has 256 colors. plus its still bigger than jpg for this job.

I know this is completely off topic but is it possible to get the
MArvel stuff off of you, I used to have it. Then there was an
altercation with my computer and I sort of lost them and when I found
the page I downloaded them off of it was down. As for the
Streetfighter it depends on how nice you want it too look since my
girlfriend was typing out some AD&D 2nd editoin stuff for a friend of
mine in no time, typing it would be tedious but not too long and I do
have all the books so I can try to enlist her help. But if you guys
are adamant about nice pictures and scanning then I am not much use.
But the finished product could go on my ftp and then you can all
download off of there if it's easier.

Again, I have Pagemaker with a powerful spellcheck. If someone were to send
me the rtf files I could clean them up and Distil them for pdf. Now as for
the pics. If it seems worthwhile I can place them too, but we'd end up with
many out of place. Anyways, I already downloaded and installed the Street
Fighter fonts on my machine and I can embed them into the pdf file along
with my own skills as a typesetter I think everyone should be pleased at the
result.

You can download a SF font called Shoryuken at
http://rover.wiesbaden.netsurf.de/~kikita/zip/sfii.zip

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it's all I could find.

Once upon a time I thought this font was in the Files section of Yahoogroups.
Was I right, or was it a hallucination brought on by too much blood in my
alcohol stream?

    Rich text format.
A formatted text type supported by most (if not all) Word processing

probably good enough. If I can get the jpg's from necro6hit, I can

I always thought most of us were against copying the books. I know I am.
They're still on eBay, it's not like they're not available. And I've been
very careful not to send an email tyo the list expressing any support on the
    matter.

But if anyone wants to copy them, I'm not going to give myself carpul tunnel
syndrome trying to send emails to the contrary.

Did another quick look on ebay and found:

    Perfect Warrior:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1676999606

They pop up every now and again. Just setup Search agents.

Well I'll put in my two cents. Yes they are available
on ebay... Sometimes. Not always. And normally if
its available its one maybe two copies. All books
being sold are secondhand so only the owner makes a
profit not white wolf or capcom. I'm all for the
copying of the books because that means I can finally
get copies. I agree with the person who said that
even if they downloaded copies if they saw them at a
yard sale they would still buy them. Also if I saw
them in the used section of my local gaming store I
will still purchase them but I can't gurantee that I
will ever see some of these books and so I would like
    copies available.

especially the really rare expansion books. I havent herd of half of the books that you all talk about on this list. The odds of finding an old street fighter rpg book in good condition, not to mention the odds of finding all the expansion books. Capcom is worried that we are going to mass produce thousands of these books and go to a convention and sell them for 10 bucks a piece.
I am a huge rpg fan and i collect rpg books. i have like 4 deadlands books but never played the game once. i just like the idea behind the game. I plan on taking these copied pages, and getting some nice paper and printing them out. I will go to kinkos and bind them nicely for my own use. If i find the real book i will buy it and throw the copy away. after i download the book i will not put it on a FS program like morpeous because as i said i want the book for personal use. i am not hell bent on causing capcom financial loss.

Good idea. I agree that a "standard codex" of styles would be best,
if only because we can forcefully examine some of the styles and
    complare them to others.

I also suppose we could include questionable existing styles into the
conversations, too -- Jeet Kun Do, The Pankration, Silat, stuff like
    that?

In any case, its not like we can force anyone to accept a community
concensus on this stuff, so I see little harm in it. On the plus
side, we can playtest stuff that probably hasn't really been
critically examined by a good cross-section of players.

It's going to be difficult to get everyone to agree on one, for many
reasons. This doesn't even include the fact that Tae Kwan Do we see here
for example is different from Tae Kwan Do practiced in Korea. So who's
opinion on the list is right? What do we standardize on?

If we do decide to develop some extra styles we should probably consider
going all out and working together to develop a new supplement ebook.

I'd be willing to draft up a Street Fighter version of American Kenpo
    (Parker Kenpo).
