True, I haven't been answering much e-mails for three weeks or so. I'm
working on an update to my web-page - a complete overhaul, such as it is.
With style sheets and all sorts of newfangled features :-)

Obviously, I've got a SF web-page. I do suggest
http://www.pvv.org/~leirbakk/ as the best place to start, as I'll
restructure the pages in the near future.

Furthermore, I'll soon add more info about SF: TT. Yesterday's scenario
was fun - horrible, but fun - but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm
playing favourites. *sigh* I just *hate* whining, you see. And there's
this particular player that manages to provoke a certain kind of visceral
response in me - he whines, and I get angry and stack the odds against
him.

Doesn't help that his character has a very, very good (but frustrating)
tactic when he's fighting, namely choke throw (for move) and stomach pump
(which is the best SH).

Oh well. At least he can't train Snow Leopard Kung Fu, which the residing
9-point (!) Kung Fu sensei will start to train the characters in. Focus,
Punch and Athletics :-)

Page 106 of the Street Fighter book, speaking of modifiers, states:

"All of the Special maneuvers and Powers in this chapter also have these
three modifiers..."

"If the number is written out, then the number is set and nothing gets added
or subtracted to it."

I take it that means NOTHING gets added or subtracted, including modifiers
from other Maneuvers. If you can't move preforming your "Stick to Earth"
Maneuver, you can't add distance to it with Lightfeet. You can't add
distance to a Block with Lightfeet. A Grab moves one hex.

Any comments?

I disagree with you David...
By the Books: I hadn't saw anywhere on the books, a rule or statement or
even an example that states that says the movement of those maneuvers with
a
set number cannot be modified in any way.
But this is a case where the storyteller has the final word, afterall...
this change makes Light Feet and the like a lot more powerful.

I disagree. If the listed movement for Move is a set number (for
example, Great Wall of China, with it's move of 0) then Light Feet
does not change it. Therefore Grabs would stay at 1. Other moves, that
just modify the athletics score (for example, Spinning BackFist) WOULD
get the +1 bonus

carefull tommy,
you wrote before how you were lucky enough to have players more
interestred in story driven decisions instead of min-maxing.

if you make a super cheap NPC they may feel they should make their
own characters cheap and start number crunching to to keep up.

just a thought,

Also I have to say guys, what is wrong with our bookmarks section????

Most sites arent listed at all and I think Pittmans link has changed.

I think everyone with a site who is on this list should add their
site to the bookmarks section.

Hell I forgot all about "STreet Fighter Ultra" untill I rediscovered
it again the other day. Christian, if your on this list, your site
rocks.

I guess a lot of ppl dont touch the bookmarks section because some
dont check on the website, instead they get msgs through e mail, and
so they never see the bookmarks section.

Yikes, I forgot about that.
guess thats what happens when something just never comes up in my

modifies these maneuvers.

That actually makes sense, considering how characters like Vega and
Guy from the Street Fighter games have rather impressive speed when it
comes to movement, yet their basic punches, kicks and grabs are all
the same speed as everyone else (given everyone else has different
speed values because they have different attributes). This, however,
is almost not recognized because both Vega and Guy have maneuvers
which make use of their enhanced movement, and thus those moves are
incredibly quick.

Besides, how does "light feet" contribute to you grabbing someone?
Doesn't that involve your hands (or legs in some cases)?

Good point...after all, they shouldn't have to deal with the super-cheap
NPCs until they face Bison, right? =)

They scraped by Venice (from the Storyteller's Screen), due to a numbers
advantage...but I was thinking it time to hand them an opponent they
couldn't beat quite so easily. But you're right, numbers crunching to screw
them is the wrong way about it...I think I've already worked up something
suitable with Mr. Angel...=)

Thanks for the warning, though...

What I was originally thinking was light feet modifying how much you could
move...that is, letting you zip across the hex map to snatch the guy up and
piledrive him...
Group: streetfighter Message: 11274 From: throwrocks@bigfoot.com Date: 6/3/2001

well, you can still use it with the few grabs that DO have a modifier
to move instead of a set amount.

light feet with siberean bear crusher or flying tackle would be scary.

really the cheesiest thing to do with grapplers though is just make
them REALLY fast (like rasputan from gateway).

then you can let your opponent do all the moving for you, then
interupt when they're close enough and knock them down with a mean
grab:)

Choke Throw is cheaper than Siberian Bear Crusher, and doesn't even cost
Willpower. Go for something like Block - Choke Throw - Stomach Pump, and
you have the workings of a REALLY cheap combo :-)

One more question, folks...

For purposes of Cybernetics characters purchasing moves, what do you
consider "Focus-based Special Maneuvers"? Is that any move with Focus in
the prerequisites? Or just any move under the Focus lists? I could
certainly see the case for the former...but the latter seems to be harder to
justify other than merely limiting the cybernetically-enhanced Street
Fighters (i.e. "Sure, you can have Mind-Reading implants. What? You want
Shockwave instead? PREPOSTEROUS!")

Thanks..

I went to great pains to duplicate how sheets and storys look in the

Also be sure to check it out at 100% Zoom to see how crisp and
detailed it is. the pic is grainy but thats cuz its a smaller pic i
found n enlarged. when my sf zero art book arrives Ill scan a good
pic thats big enough so its not grainy. the sheet and text are still
perfect though.

It's Adons sheet (he's first in alphabetical order) done up just like
white wolfs. a page with his pic and story, and then another page
with his sheet.

This is how my whole site will look when I'm done, I'll probly switch
over 1 character or more per week til done. But for you guys that
don't like PDF I'll still have other formats availiable, just not as
pretty.

That goes without saying.

My campaigns tend to shy away from non-chineese mysticism, so having a good
old
fashion fae/changeling show up jolts my PCs awake when it's 4 AM.  They also
tend to concentrate more on cool maneuvers and rare styles than on gadgets
or
magic (though there was this one time I had an npc with a Valkyrie
Cyclone...)

Have no idea what a Valkyrie Cyclone is, but I look into all forms of
mysticism and always try to think of new twists.

Don't worry on the setting so much, any GM worthy of the abreviation won't
have
any problems adapting your legend to their campaign.

Thank You, but my latest one drifted to fighters, but not really the circuit.

If I ever start an online tournament though, I will use my newest legend for
backstory.

I say as long as the maneuver doesn't have any non-focus maneuver prereqs, I'd
let them get it.

So shockwave would be all right (since it doesn't have any maneuver prereqs at
all), but Flamming Dragon Punch wouldn't since it has Dragon Punch and Power
Uppercut as a prereq.

hehehe. If I could have one machine out of all of anime... It would be
Washu's reality creating computer, but a Cyclone would be a close second.

Basically a Cyclone is a combination Hard Suit/Motor Slave.

plus its a bad pic.

how do you guys want em in the finished version? story and sheet 2
seperate pdfs or one? each fighter has a seperate one or one big
compilation? should I put the ppls moves in along with them or just
keep one file of the moves that grows with each new fighter? (I'll be
revising my old versions of the moves as I go, doing whatever moves
the fighter Im working on has)

I had to really dig for sum of these fonts.

the comic book style font for writing on the sheet is ACME Secret
Agent, The part that says Physical, mental and social etc. WAS
mistral that I modified to match the book. and the main text on the
story is franklin gothic heavy and ""book.

I forget which font it was I super-imposed the jaguar spots
onto "Adon"

Also, my alpha art book came in so I'll release my official version
soon with a good quality pic.

Subject: Re: Cybernetics question
I have a good ruling to this kind of thing (at least for me it is good)
When someone wants a maneuver that has any other prerequisite besides Focus
(like Flaming Dragon Punch mentioned by Chris) I let them buy it as a normal
maneuver (thus making the player to buy the punch and the other maneuvers
which are a prerequisite for the Flaming Dragon Punch above...) and using
their Cybernetics background as his or her Focus for the purpose.

hmmm... prize... sourcebooks... interesting... :D just kidding
I have lots of SF pics, who and what exactly?
Do you want them as they are or edited (without backgroud, like Adon's one
in the PDF)?

With luck, the next edition of Warrior's Pride will be
out sometime that same week.
