Well it's not my _only_ criteria, quality is always a plus. :)

My campaigns tend to shy away from non-chineese mysticism, so having a good old
fashion fae/changeling show up jolts my PCs awake when it's 4 AM. They also
tend to concentrate more on cool maneuvers and rare styles than on gadgets or
magic (though there was this one time I had an npc with a Valkyrie Cyclone...)

Don't worry on the setting so much, any GM worthy of the abreviation won't have
any problems adapting your legend to their campaign.

Speaking of which, I meant to post this last week. For those of you
looking for the main Street Fighter RPG book, I was in Atlanta last
week at a store called Oxford Comics & they had 3 new copies of the
main SF book hidden away with all the other White Wolf stuff. Well,
maybe new isn't the right word anymore, how about on the shelf for 7
years & never purchased... Anyway, I probably shoulda bought them all,
but didn't think of it at the time...

Well, my schedule will be monthly (I hope, I pray) starting as soon as I feel I
have enough material for issue 5 (6 or so articals/comics/thingies).

Feel free to send your articals/fanfics/comics/other stuff to sfstg@...
any time (though the sooner the better). If it comes in too late for the
current issue, it'll just be in the next one.

lol, Im a big robotech junkie, I actually converted it all to white
wolf one time because I hate Palladium games so much.

before I even had a computer, just scribbles in a notebook, and a big
cut n pasted xeroxed frankensheet.

those were the good ole days.

Yep...Hu the Tiger, Itoketip and Lady Death (who was apparently meant to be
the promising student of Bison's who had learned Mind Control, as alluded to
in Secrets of Shadoloo)...

My bad...the team from Inphobia was Shadow Fist, not The Shadowfists.
Bonnie's team is the Lightning Fists...and she's got 2 dots in appearance,
so she can't be THAT bad, can she? =)

Subject: home page, help and more...
Niemand, I'm brazilian, and I think you're too, alright? Well, if you're, take a look in my home page (www.shotokanrpg.hpg.com.br) inhere you can take many things, including my e-mail and ICQ number. You know, my English is poor (a friend translates things for me) and it will be easy for us to talk. OK?
Well, all you guys, the discussion about forward flip knee could be avoided, if the "new player" was noticed that it was a house rule. I didn't know about the discussion whem it started, so, I can't say a lot about it but I think that the mailing list was mode to DISCUSS, not to fight. The Matt's iniciative was perfect (to show and give examples from the book), and it should be followed, so this kind of discussion will not happen anymore.
I would like you to send me things from the books, 'cause here in Brazil they weren't (and won't) be published, just the main book. I'm pawning to get the Player's Guide and Secrets of Shadoloo (Shadaloo in Brazil), but my chances are remotes. Matt is helping ,e. but he is only one, and I think that everybody help me, I could help the brazilian players 'cause I would put in my home page. Will, I've got all the maneuvers, styles, cyborgs, elementals, animal hybrids, Bison, Sagat, Vega, lasers and the abbilities. I need the new weapons (Matt is thinking to send them to me whem he get a time, but he is working in his home page), and other things like managers, retiring... If each one help me, I think everybody will have just a bit of work... Thanks for now to whom accept helping me... And... Thanks Matt! =)

To Matt;
Actually, I enjoy sarcasm,
as it appears to be more
intelligent than a mere
vomiting of wicked words.
Still, working someone up
so you can be more sarcastic
is un-socialistic, and could
also be addictive... :)

To Tony;
Nice, I share your view,
if someone replies for
the sole reason to speak
of each other in negative
words, they should let
off replying at all.
(I`m not saying that is what
I have experienced happen here.)

I appreciate that you are

I hope your gonna post that inphobia stuff! a lot of us have never

It IS amazing what you can do, you have more on sf:stg than most of

Ok, have I missed something? I haven't seen any posts with swearing and
fighting in them. Granted I do not read every post, I just do not have the
time.
However can someone email me offlist and fill me in. I will not tolerate
swearing at each other on this list. Oh and sarcasm isn't appreciated
either, unless its meant in good humour.

Thanks

Does anyone know anymore specific details about shadows over mexico???

I know it was a SF:STG book that never came out.

But does anyone know if it was an adventure, or a campaign setting.

What exactly was the content supposed to be I mean.

And does anyone have a picture of the cover?
someone once said it was in a catalog to preorder it before they
canceled it, did it have a pic and a description of the content?

has anyone tried to contact the ppl that made the game about what was
in Shadows over Mexico?

just curious

All we'd have to do is make our characters ahead of time, so whoevers
dming could come up with a reason for us to be together etc.

and whoevers dming would decide what rules to use.(plus theres always
the option of [gasp] not using house rules)

I think itd be cool.

but if you wanna talk worse case scenario, a REAL street fight could
break out.

Actually, I'll probably send you the .html version then if it's all the same to
you. The .txt version will probably just be the .html version saved as .txt.

Glad you added that last part there. I was about ready to pack my bags since

Well, unless someone's scanner does better than my HP ScanJet 4100C....no

I tried to text scan some documents a while back that didn't involve fancy
printing methods and still wound up spending enough time on manual error
correction to have matched my typing speed to have done it by hand.

MikeM (our admin for those who have forgotten) did post them on the list a
couple of years ago in three parts.

You can find them in the message archive. Their numbers are 3665 through 3667.

So no need for anyone to give themselves carpel tunnel syndrome.

It is pretty rare, I'll admit. (and I don't have it yet either).

I disagree. If the listed movement for Move is a set number (for
example, Great Wall of China, with it's move of 0) then Light Feet
does not change it. Therefore Grabs would stay at 1. Other moves, that
just modify the athletics score (for example, Spinning BackFist) WOULD
get the +1 bonus

By the Books: I hadn't saw anywhere on the books, a rule or statement or
even an example that states that says the movement of those maneuvers with a
set number cannot be modified in any way.
But this is a case where the storyteller has the final word, afterall...
this change makes Light Feet and the like a lot more powerful.

My interpretation has always been that maneuvers with a fixed movement such
as 1 or 0 and not a movement modifier cannot have their movement increased by
maneuvers such as Light Feet and Musical Accompaniment.  I know many on this
list may disagree with me but I feel the maneuvers are fixed for a reason-for
instance Lightning Leg (even in the video game) must be performed while
standing still and most grabs have a movement of one because they must be
performed in the same hex as the target so the 1 movement is merely to enter
the hex of the fighter next to you.  Again, I know many will disagree but
this has always been my ruling and I hope I've at least explained the logic
for my reasoning.  I've also seen too many people abuse this type of thing to
make "Super Grapplers" which gets out of hand quickly.  This is one of those
situations where there is nothing specific in the book to clarify this one
way or another so the Storyteller must decide for himself and use the ruling
that works best for him, the only right answer is the one you choose to use.

Page 106 of the Street Fighter book, speaking of modifiers, states:

"All of the Special maneuvers and Powers in this chapter also have these three modifiers..."

"If the number is written out, then the number is set and nothing gets added or subtracted to it."

I take it that means NOTHING gets added or subtracted, including modifiers from other Maneuvers. If you can't move preforming your "Stick to Earth" Maneuver, you can't add distance to it with Lightfeet. You can't add distance to a Block with Lightfeet. A Grab moves one hex.

Any comments?

Scott

Thanks, guys...I must have missed that every time, or else I would have came
to the same conclusion.

Basically, I was making an Olympic gold-medal winning wrestler NPC named
Kirk Angel {Blatant rip-off, or satirical homage? You decide!} and I was
partially seeing just how cheap I could make him to piss off the players.
I'm thinking of introducing him by having him do something like pulling ten
people out of a burning building, only to have the PCs discover that he
hired the arsonist who set the building on fire, in effort to arrange a
disaster that made him look like a hero...

Thanks for the input on Light Feet!
