Yeah but his adamantium rib cage would protech his
ribs and vital oregons much better than a normal bone
one. The hulk can generate a bunch that has 100 tons
of preasure per square inch and wolverine took that
punch. He wasent knocked out just knocked down with
that in mind now that i think about it An8 stamina is
to low. as stan lee would put it Nuf said.

Subject: X-Men
Now I am gonna assume some of you have seen the X-Men movie, correct?

I enjoyed it a lot, now here is where I lead street fighter into this.

Wolverine (in the movie only, not in the comics) is a street fighter.
How else can you explain the bar scene in the beginning, and the pit
fight. Or why he didnt just gut Magneto later on . . . he is a street
fighter, no honor in killing.

The comic book and video game versions are so visious and inhuman,
when he really is much like the hulk, he just wants to be left alone.

my version of wolverine is as follows:

Logan ~~ aka. Wolverine
Style: Special Forces
Signature: flashes his claws at opponent.

Subject: Re: CHAMPS question...haaaaay J. Scott Pitman!!!

Here is an example of Style creation. I'll add it to the CHAMPS page soon.

Example of Style Creation:

Mike would like to make a new Style called Cloud Dragon Hachito (Hay-Chee-Toe means "The spirit within"). It is a purely fictional Style that is supposed to be lost and found again by one of the characters he has designed for his new campaign.

He decides that the Style will rely on mostly Punches and Athletcis (mostly throws). He decides on the following tags for the Maneuver. Each Tag will reduce the cost of a Maneuver with the same tag by one point (a reduction of two pints would have cost twice the normal number of Style points to add to the Style Tags).

Punch + Athletics, a double technique tag (-14 points)

Athletics + Grab, a double technique tag (-14 points)

Block, a single technique tag (-24 points)

Mike now has -42 Style Points. To be a legal Style, the Style point total must equal 0. So, Mike has to chose the associated Maneuvers for his style, the Maneuvers that will be required for a student to master this Style. He gets back 2 points per Maneuver, slowly working his way back to 0 Style Points. 42 divided by 2 is 21, so Mike will need to pick 21 Maneuvers.

The Maneuvers he choses might or might not be altered based on the Tag. If the Maneuver has an identical Tag to one of the Style Tags, then it will be reduced in cost.

CHAMPS has many Maneuvers already listed as Punch + Athletics Maneuvers, so Mike looks at them first. he choses:

Rekka Ken (CHAMPS version)

Spinning Knuckle (CHAMPS version)

Dragon Punch (CHAMPS version)

From the list of Athletics + Grab, he choses

Air Suplex (Dogs of War version)

Air Throw (Dogs of War version)

Choke Throw (CHAMPS version)

Disengage (CHAMPS version)

Flying Tackle (CHAMPS version)

Hair Throw (CHAMPS version)

Pile Driver (CHAMPS version)

Siberian Suplex (Dogs of War version)

Storm Hammer (Dogs of War version)

Thigh Press (CHAMPS version)

The Style will also get a -1 Reduction for Block Maneuver, so Mike picks the following:

Deflecting Punch (CHAMPS version)

Kick Defense (CHAMPS version)

Missle Reflection (CHAMPS version)

Punch Defense (CHAMPS version)

That's 17 Maneuvers, so Mike still needs 4 more to finish the job. He decides to go with Leap of Death, a Maneuver of his own creation. Leap of Death is a Punch + Athletics maneuver, so it will get the -1 to Power Point cost for this Style.

For the final 3 Maneuuvers, Mike choses Foot Sweep (CHAMPS version) and Spinning Foot Sweep (Dogs of War version). These Maneuvers will not get a reduction in cost, but Mike feels that they make an interesting addition to the Style. He also gives the Style a little flavor by placing Shock Treatment to the list. That gives him a total of 0 Style Points and a legal CHAMPS Style.

Now all Mike has to do is divide 7 points into beginning Chi and Willpower and write the Style up. Mike is careful to note which versions of the Maneuvers he has chosen for the Style he has created. If someone wants to master this version of Hachito, he will have to learn the Maneuvers as shown (and cannot substitute their own versions of the Maneuvers and still call themselves a master of Cloud Dragon Hachito).

Mike also adds color to the Style by adding details such as History and Description, Schools, Members, Concepts, and a Quote, just like in the Street Fighter books.

The Style looks like this when finished:

Cloud Dragon Hachito

History and Description

:

The art of Cloud Dragon Hachito, a form of Hachito, was thought lost forever. There was only one temple in the world that practiced it's art in secret, located in a hidden location in China. Legends hold that the home of the great masters of this art was a fortress in the clouds that was once ruled by a dragon, but of course that can only be legend.

Five years ago, a man known as Sato (Say-Two) came from the mountains in a remote village in China, far from normal civilization. He claimed to know the secrets of the ancient masters, and proved it by drawing lightning from the ground itself to ward off a drunken man who called Sato a liar and attacked him. Sato disappeared, but many have sought him to learn his secrets, including the Maneuver known as The Leap of Death.

Cloud Dragon Hachito teaches practitioners to use punches along with grabs and good punch defense to batter down even the most impressive punching and wrestling opponents. It also teaches defense against kicks, and is considered to be a well-rounded Style.

Cloud Dragon hachito, as well as all forms of known Hachito, teach that violence is not the answer to situations and should be used as a lsast resort. It also teaches students to fight without a weapon, claiming that to rely on a item rather than the body is a great weakness.

Masters of Hachito, after learning all other associated Maneuvers, are taught the art of Summon Lightning, where they can call lighting from the earth itself to travel through their bodies. How this is accomplished remains a mystery.

Schools

:

There are no current schools that teach Hachito. To learn the Style, one would have to fins Sato, the only known master.

Members

:

It is unknown if Sato teaches, has taught, or will teach students.

Concepts

:

Ancient Masters, characters with a Dragon Background.

Quote

:

"The Cloud Dragon does not live to fight! He lives to soar on the clouds, and the clouds are friends to the earth and oceans. When the Cloud Dragon is threatened, he can summon the might of the earth and the storm!"

I liek this one much better, because to tell you the truth I think that
someone like Ryu or Ken go give Wolverine a run for his money, and with
stats like these..this is a lot more accurate.

Ok, have you read any Wolverine or X-Men comics? Wolverines been hit by
lightning before and hes kept coming. Now this is the problem with comics.
They dont need to follow any rules. They need to have Wolverine get hit by
lightning and keep coming? He does! Piece of cake. The next issue needs him
to get hurt by a stab wound? He gets hurt. His powerlevel is in the hands
of the writer.

that reminds of a run that my friend did: my frined ran a scenario
where the x-men were fighting a sentinel over the ocean, one of the
players was running storm...and some of the x-men were in the water
so was the sentinel...storm threw a lightning bolt in the water
poor wolverine..poor colossus!! the pain was unbearable!..let's just
say the ol healing gonna work overtime for this one!

I agree with Cliff. Wolvie should have an 8 stamina. Plus he never tires
either. Thats some stamina.

Well, I finally got volume 1 and 2 of the Virtua Fighter anime. Its ok.
More comical than the Street Fighter V anime. But its still enjoyable.
Akira is the main star and is quickly joined by Pai. A couple of episodes
later their joined by the brother and sister team of Jacky and Sarah.

The one thing that bugs me is that when one of the stars does a special
maneuver in the fight, it stops, and a black and white demonstration of the
move is shown in slow motion with a really annoying voice over explaining
the move. But other than that, its good for some entertainment.

Now, has anybody converted Virtua Fighter characters over?

Subject: Ryu/KEn
Okay, I'm sorry, I'm just kind of bored with the doing away with
Wolverine stuff, so I'll delurk and send up something equally inane.

I was looking at that official capcom art site mentioned a couple of
days ago. There are pictures of some of the SF characters, Joe, Retsu,
and Eagle. I wouldn't mind seeing them (and Geki and um, the kung fu
fellow) in a new SFA4 or whathave you. I'm curious as to what moves we'd
give everyone. Retsu was a shotokan guy who trained with Gokan before
Ken and Ryu, I think, he'd be pretty easy. (As a matter of fact, he is
the defacto master in my campaigns (when I had some) he has quit
fighting and concentrated on studying his art and teaching students),
Joe was a kickboxer of little or no originality, he could be something
more, Geki has been rumored to be Ibuki's daddy, so he'd fight like her.
Eagle used escrima sticks, maybe he'd fight like Rolento? or perhaps
more like Mr Big from Art of fighting. Etc. Anyway, it was a thought

also, I have always thought of Ken to be Ryu's equal. But recently, I
have begun to think he's better. I mean in the story lines, Ryu
generally wins, but the fights are always very close. Here's why I think
he's better, he doesn't live for the fight like Ryu does, he has a wife,
a child, he hasn't forsaken his life for the fighting ideal that Ryu has
but Ryu hasn't really surpassed him. Ken has taken students (Sean, and
more or less Allan Snyder, and in SF the RPG, his cousin Drake) he isn't
the best teacher, but he has gotten Shotokan out there. I dunno, I think
Ryu has gotten kind of boring during the course of all the games, he
really hasn't changed and he hasn't grown, perhaps he needs to be a Boss
character, then he could be all kinds of cheap and show off the
supremacy they keep telling us he has..

Okay, I'm ranting, time to reign in the fingers.

Oh, by the by, shoot Wolverine with the matter rearranger that they use
to manipulate the adamantium that would probably mess him up but good.

i am not talkin about the game, in the comic books and in the Tsr
Marvel Super Heros RPG, Colossus is resistant to electricity, and
even though he is metal, he is non-conductive. But if strom would get
really mad she may be able to singe him, Thor on the other hand(or
Possibally Raiden) could hurt quite bad with a Lightning bolt, as
opposed to bashing him with either his fists, or Mjolnier.

well balanced fighter, he found his path in the fourth stage of hinu ( ask

refines while ken soars in the long run Ryu has the right idea perfecting
what he knows befor moving on. in my opinion it is quality over quantety, but
    that is my Shotokan philosophy.

BTW in the RPG I kept ken and Ryu's attributes the same but Ryu is sowly

raiden or anybody with a lot of juice..if colossus is in water and
lightning hits it..the water is amplified and that cuts through his
resistance therefore creating intense pain...he will fall if the right
amount of juice is fired at him....what the brotherhood of evil
mutants did to him wasn't no joke either..

    SACRED art of shotokan?
    <badly suppressed laughter> "mhehehehehe."
Shotokan is one of the most
    widely spread Karate styles,
    taught to every Joe, Billy
Heinrich or Bertil who drops by.

    However, if Ryu, who appears
to be a thoughtful and wise
    warrior, would dispense
    Shotokan's secrets to any
    ready student, Ken would
    most probably be surprised,
    then angry.

A feud is maybe to take it
    too far.

But if Ryu got cocky over
    time....
    Don't believe Ken would
    be angry, rather dissappointed.
Not likely anyway, in my wiew.

    Warriors who want the title
    Supreme World Warrior,
    Best Fighter In the World,
    or similar titles meaning
the same, would want to take out Ryu.

How do you kill Colossus, then?
    Does anybody have SF-stats for
    the X-types?
Don't want many of the DC heroes,
    they're less compatible with
the SF setting. (In my taste.)
    Like mutants, though.
    Anyone got Nightcrawler?
    Automatic shrouded moon in shadows,
    plus Teleport power?
    Lots of athletics.
    Kicks some.
    Punches less.
    What do you think?

    Yes, I read it.
    Sounded like fun.
    Like the Mad Scientist-plot,
and when the Ninja made a
    dramatic entrance, thwarting
the evil plans, freeing his friends.

    But I didn't quite grasp
    the bit about Zangief's group
on their way to stop Shadoloo?
    To destroy the factory
    the players were to destroy,
    and there was a confusion?

    Yes, I agree mostly,
    but perhaps it should be
    Mutant background 4
    With the chosen mutation Regeneration?
    Solves the problem;
Why doesn't he appear to have the
discipline that one with focus 4 should have?
Or a Mutation merit if you prefer that.

    Subject: Re: Ryu/KEn
maybe so, but of every Joe, Billy-bob and Beuford who gets taught Shotokan,
how many are allowed to learn the secrets of the Fireball or Dragon Punch?

There is more to learning a style than knowing how to punch Karate-style.
Any idiot can learn basic Sanbo. Not everyone can master the Spinning Pile
    Driver.

Blanka was mentioned before, and how his style doesn't really match
Capoeira. I've explained this in my campaign by saying that while Blanka is
respected as a fighter (namely for inventing the various Rolling Attacks)
his combat style is really more of a bastardization using Capoeira as a
base. Now that's not to say that I agree with those who state that the
published form of Capoeira is inaccurate. I don't, because once all the
maneuvers from the various books are combined, you've got a pretty good form
of Capoeira right there. (Musical Accompaniment, Backflip, Handstand Kick,
Cartwheel Kick, Foot Sweep, am I missing any?) Everything else is just
    Basic Maneuvers.

My point is, one can be seen as a good "basics" fighter (traditional
Capoeirista will fall under this rating), but to truly be impressive, one
must push the envelope (and learn Beast Roll, for example). Not everyone is
able, nor allowed. So again, while everyone knows Karate, only a truely
dedicated few will be able to use that Karate to dent steel. And the
masters will not give that ability to someone they feel will be
    irresponsible with it.

    bwah hah hah.

    I just flashed on something.

I used to be in a Clan for Superheroes 2, a superpowers mod for Quake 2.
One of my favorite combos to take was Elasticity, Immune to Radius, and
Impulse 9. As a result, I always had a rocket launcher with full ammo,
Immune to Radius allowed me to rocket jump without hurting myself, and
Elasticity further reduced my damage but gave me *insane* knockback from
    taking damage.

As a result, I could pretty much achieve escape velocity from a rocket jump
without hurting myself. This was hysterical in Capture the Flag, especially
on Outlands where there were wide open spaces. I'd guard the bridge to my
base and when someone charged in, I'd rocket-jump into orbit and have enough
hangtime to fire about twenty rockets before I came down. It was
challenging, too, since if you landed wrong you'd splat, but hey.

Ah, memories. I should have gone ahead with my spinoff called "Quake
Fighter" where all the players had zany kung fu moves and could jump really
    high.

zangief's group was sent there to actually protect it, even they
didn't know what was going on regarding the sinister experiments
in a way they just arrived on the scene just as the players did
they just follow orders...in a way you could say that were sent by

and since I have a player who likes to fight..that's how this

    Subject: Super Heros {OT}
recently, the topic of super heros, wolverine and colussus in
perticular, has been coming up over and over again.

now i can argue who can do what to who, for how much damage, and why
it is that way. but, i offer a better challage, wolverine and
colussus have "team attacks" such as the 'fastball special'.

has anyone esle came up with unusual attacks that require multiple
(2+) characters to proform the attack?

my players, whom by the have been playing marvel superheros for about
12 years now, and i am thier judge for all the games, so i can claim
to have some knowledge on the marvel topic, its not perfect nor is it
pretty, but i have it. anyways, my foolish players tried to make team
attacks for my streetfighter game, end result the little special
    forces guy died, when he missed his 'thigh smasher'{results later}
and landed on the pavement 4 stories down. the opponenet who was
fighting 4 players, decided they were not honorable(none of them
checked on the special forces guy) and left them, in mid battle.

my challage is Team Attacks. Good luck

    Gero

ALSO: a lot of things can kill Colossus, but he cannot truly die, its
perhaps due to exposure to the energy of the beyounder, that Dr.Doom
had stolen and killed all the heros there with (hulk, Thor, wolvie,
and captain america's sheild broke) but colussus lived barely(not
even a possibility unless he is an X-ternal) and cared for back to
better health by this alien check with healing powers. since that
comic, and knowing the rpg stats for him, he has taken too much
damage in too many comics to be anything else than an X-Ternal or
nigh-immortal (ash him if you can and spread is ashes over several
miles and he wont come back)

    Thigh Smasher
    Athletics Maneuver
    Requirements:
    Pl.1: Athletics 4, Dexterity 4, Thigh Press
    Pl.2: Grab 4, Strength 5, Throw
Power Points: 3 for each of the users
basiccally Pl.2 grabs Pl.1 and throws them at an opponent, but
instead of hitting them and both the opponent and Pl.1 taking damage,
Pl.1 uses Thigh Press, and nails the opponenet head first into the
    ground.
System: Pl.2 msut make attack roll vs. Target # of opponents
Athletics, then Pl.1 must make attack roll using Athletics (instead
of Grab) vs. target # of opponenets Dexterity. Both Pl. 1 and Pl.2
must have a total of 4+ successes to hit. causes knockdown to
opponent, inores blocking, bonus damage for Pl.2 Strength in addition
    to Pl.1's normal damage.
    Pl.1 Pl.2
    Cost: 1 Willpower each
Speed: as per Pl.2's Throw speed
    Damage: Str(Pl.1) + Str(Pl.2) + Grab + 3
Move: One (Pl.2 Str in hexes range thrown)

this can be pushed for an additional willpower by Pl.2 he can gain a
+2 speed adjustment, +2 range thorwn, or +1 speed and +1 range thrown.

if pushed by Pl.1 +2 damage, +1 damage and opponenet bounces 1 hex
away, or opponenet bounces 2 hexes away

??? Maybe your recollection of Secret Wars differs from mine.. but Zaji
healed Colossus after the wrecking crew kicked his ass (circa issue 5 or 6)
and Colossus fell in love with her(after Johnny Storm dumped her lol).. this
was well before Doom stole the Beyonder's power(circa issue 11).

    hmm.. And Colossus didn't die?
Then he's tougher than I thought.

Their styles would be Special Forces?
They all receive the same training
    when they join the X-men.

Rogue. She could have something extra
    with her leech power, randomising
    which stat or which maneuver
    (preferrably innate mutant powers)
she would absorb. After all, it
only lasts for a while, then
    disappears.
(Like when you dream, you remember
how to fly, but then you wake and
you know the feeling and have the
    experience of flying, but you
    can't fly no more.)

    Cyclops optical blast could work
like a blaster rifle, I think.

    Agree upon Kitty.
    Ghost form.

    Wolverine.
Yes. Automatically regains two health each round.
Immune to limb-breaking attacks. (Any protests?)
Wolverine hybrid, maybe. One dot or two.
He's only got the rage and senses of a wolverine.
The claws are artificial, after all.
The storyline where he gets bone claws,
anyone knows why? I didn't read as much of it.

    Nightcrawler, then?
    Prehensile tail (+athletics)
    Shrouded Moon in shadows.
Sticks to walls? Must check on this one,
    please help.
    Teleport.

    Storm?
    Air control powers.
Should she simply be an air elematal?
She was worshipped as a goddess for a
    while, right?

Phoenix. I don't feel like trying.

Ok, that's all I dare this late.

    I agree.
    And I don't think
    it is likely that
    Ryu would teach those
    maneuvers to Burt,
    Reggie and Sally,
    either.

    Getting Ken and Ryu

    Yes.
    I agree.

    I have an idea now,
of how Ken could come to
    be angry at Ryu.
    Humans do miscommunicate
    now and then, after all,
    and nobody is perfect.
-If Ryu taught the wrong guy
    the sacred secrets of Shotokan;
He or she (hereafter He) appears
to be an Honorable (capital H!)
    student, with great potential.
    Ryu teaches him to unlock
    his inner powers, and the
    path to perfection.

Then it turns out He is
    a lying bastard, working
    only to better himself,
    having no pity or thought
    for others, seeking only to
    usurp Ryu's position in
    the warrior's world.

Or maybe he works for Shadoloo.
    -Or some other evil.

    Anyway, Ken blames Ryu for
    this abomination, and gets
    real pissed off.
Maybe He made things to look
like Ryu is behind all His
    wrongdoings?

    Is this helpful?
At least it's constructive this time...

    I apologize if I've offended,

Well, Wolverine would probably NOT be Special Forces. At least not after a
while. In one particular story, Wolverine has ninjutsu training - or
something so near ninjutsu as to be virtually the same. Ninja used
climbing implements known as Shuko (for hands) and Aisho (for feet), and
many techniques there would be similar for Wolverine's claws.

Anyways, I might peg Wolverine as either Kung Fu (everyone knows Kung Fu)
or Jeet Kune Do (because of their ability to learn any maneuver), if I
    vetoed him as ninjutsu.

Also, I have the distinct impression that Ororo (Storm) uses some aikido
in one story or other - but I'm not 100% sure.

The rest of them - sure. Make 'em Special Forces. See if I care ;-)

nope wolvie by all standard is a hybrid martial artist, thats why in
my write up on him i sent in, he is special forces. he is also
trained in kendo, karate, kempo, ninjisu, judo, ju jitsu, and a few
others. in the marvel universe there are few who have martial arts
skills better than wolvie, check out most of the write ups on him he
has usually 4 out of 5 types of martial arts, or better yet read his
series, the old stuff pre 1992. and learn a bit or two about him.

I wouldnt Laugh R. He is right In a way the capcom version of shotokan that
Ryu knows is possible very diffrent from our world equivilent.
And even though it is widely taught, It doesnt mean its understood by
    everyone.

As for the secrets im not to sure. It seems that other stlyist who havnt
even studied under Gouken know the moves namely, Sagat, Sakura, Dan. And Ken
Has 1 student in SF3, sean.
Im pretty sure If ryu taught someone, ken wouldnt give a damn. Bot too much
    any way.

I've had the SF game for about six or seven years, ever since high
school. I probably haven't played it in five years, but I'm really
getting back into it and have been collecting information off the
net. I do only own the core rule book, however, and I'll say I'd
like to see the books posted online. Back to my point... I have only
just recently gotten back into Street Fighter (since I played SF: EX
3 on PS2), and have just gotten completely lost in it lately. I eat,
sleep, and breath SF all of the sudden.

Anyway, to the point here. I've been working on a sort of unofficial
Guide to the World Warriors, trying to encompass information on all
of the major players in the Street Fighter universe, including at the
very least what style they use and what country they're from. I was
wondering if anyone would be interested in it. And if so, I'm gonna
need a little help filling in some blanks.

The bulk of the information is historical type stuff, like how Chun-
Li's dad died, or why M. Bison hosted the Street Fighter II tourney.
It is organized by character, so Ryu's history is under Ryu and
anything that linked him with Ken would be in both their histories.
If you've got any questions, answers, or are interested in me putting
    this up, let me know.

Apprently I didn't pay attention to the subject line on that last

the right title so it would get the right kind of attention.
