I pose this to all on the list: What was your favorite SF character you
ever created?
For me, it was Kagemada Yûka, a japanese girl practicing Feminine
Kickboxing. She was the daughter of the president of a big company, and her
father didn't considered her nor her fighting style to be worth anything. So
she pressed out, and eventually became known in the arena. Then her father
died, not leaving her with any chance to prove herself. She then continued
to fight, but was no more "miss nice girl". She went hardcore-gothic, and
renamed herself Liz'Troy, playing the bassist in a punk-goth band. She
became Rank 6, and was shot at by a mad fan during a concert.

Group: streetfighter Message: 9172 From: Darrick Chen Date: 10/9/2000
Subject: The Return of the Prodigal Gamer, or Please Don't Shoot the Lurker
Hello all.

Some of you may know (or at least remember) me, and I know a lot f you don't
even know who I am. My name is Darrick Chen and I used to be a "regular" on
this mailing list.

My last known contribution was in December 1999, or thereabouts, and even
then it had been after several months of "radio silence". Since then I have
been a "lurker" on this list and haven't really done anything to contribute.

Long story short, I'm sorry to have kept quiet this long. A lot of things
happened that winter that impacted my function as a gamer and as a Street
Figher gamer in particular. Street Figheter is the one RPG I've ever truly
mastered in terms of rules and mechanics. It was "my game" and I ran it,
happily, for a tight group of friends.

In winter of 1999, I lost my best player, due to time conflicts and his own
personal choice. I bear him no ire, but this development DID put a severe
crimp in my campaign. Not only was he my oldest player, but we had left for
winter break at a cliffhanger, for which I needed his character. I couldn't
come out from under that stone wall, and so Street Fighter slipped away into
obscurity on my game schedule. I lost passion for Street Fighter, in fact,
almost for gaming in general and so I left the world of functional playing,
participating only in a weekly DnD campaign.

It hasn't been until recently that I've been able to get back into gaming,
and Street Figher especially. This past May I graduated from Northern
Illinois University and have ventured out into "the real world". Of course
"the real world" means a "real job". So, not only are all of my best gaming
buddies miles away at my alma mater, but having a tight, irregular scehdule
makes regular gaming a near impossibility.

AS such I have delved back into doing what I feel I do best: writing
background materials, character design, and rules supplementation. And of
course that focus has brought me full circle to Street Fighter. The
continuing saga of the World Warriors and their struggle against Shadowloo
has once again inspired the spongy stuff in my cranium called a brain.

Though I haven't read everything this list has posted in the past few
months, I have had my eye on the fresh new talent that has signed on, and I
am really impressed and excited by what I've seen (particularly that Style
based on Exotic Dancing. Sheer genius). I'd like to be a part of all that
again, if you folks will have me. I've gotten back to tinkering with my
"Storyteller's Masterbook" and I hope to have something contributable soon.

Also, I feel I must express a heartfelt apology those on here who had been a
part of New Legends Online, my ill-fated online campaign, perpetuated by
ICQ. IF any of you guys are still on this list, I wanted to say I'm sorry.
NLO was not bad in it conception, I believe, but rather a little over
ambitious. Having folks try to meet at the same time in four different time
zones wasn't exactly an easy thing to do. Even so, I apologize for my
negligence of something that could have been great. Personally speaking I'd
love to see another online campaign happen, and maybe even be part of it,
but I think the actual running should be left up to one with an accomodating
schedule and more experience.

In closing, it is my pleasure to participate once again, and to make
acquaintance with all the newer contributors. I look forward to waht will
come out of all this. If anyone can bring me up to speed ont he current "hot
topics" I'd love to see what I can bring to the table.

Respectfully-

Darrick Chen

Okay since you seem to have been enquiring so much about using the chat room mesmeron@... I thought I would respond. Ever since I joined the list however many years ago I have not seen anyone ever succesfully use the chat. When I first got here I tried for a while to meet people in the chat room and it just didn't work no matter how many times we tried. I eventually came to the conclusion that becuase this is a mailing list that it results in people having very different schedules so it is nearly impossible to get everyone or anyone together. So you can keep trying and if you succed congratualtions, but I thought I would just drop a word of warning.

Thanks, Chad Phillips

Subject: Ages Tournament official match: Rebellion Vs Chaotic.
A small note for the other fighter (Zethar and Sha Long), both receive 4
exp
points to expend and... Guys do you want use glory and honor stuff?

Rebellion player: Chris Hoffmann style: Special Forces Country: Japan.
Time:
A Japanese future.

Appearance: The first thing you notice about Rebellion is that she is
perhapse the most incredibly beautiful woman that you or anyone has ever
seen. She has Asian features with long black hair, large almond shaped
green eyes, olive skin and a better body than Chun-Li and Rose put
together. She looks to be in her late teens or early twenties but is
acutally almost fifty years old due to retardation of the ageing
process.

The second thing you notice is that she is well over ten feet tall.

If you stuck around long enough to notice anything else, you see that
she
favors a sand colored tunic with a hood and face wrap to let her blend
into
the desert better. During the rare times when she's feeling nostalgic,
she'll put on her old military uniform which is an odd cross between the
styles of the Japanese Self-Defense force and Israel's Mossad of the
twentieth century.

Quote before fight: "The essence of victory is not strength, or skill,
or
even speed. It is not your weapons, your numbers, your training, your
tactics or your strategies or any of the thousand thousand variables
strategists have over the millenia claimed to be the end all of victory.

It is the ability to survive. If you can endure the time it takes to
learn
how to beat your enemy, then you will win. If you refuse to stay down,
no
matter
how hard your enemy drives your face into the rocks, no matter how you
body
screams out for relief, you can not loose. This is what it will take to
be
free."

Vs

Chaotic player: Npc Style: Dark Shotokan Karate Country: Unknown Time:
Our
timeline.

Appearance: Chaotic is a taller man about 6'11" with and good weight to
support his structure, dress a wine color gi, and have white pale skin
with
violet eyes and light red hair, you can see small japanese printed over
his
face like small tatoos, if the opponent understand japanese: "Fear",
"Hate",
"Revenge", "Me".

Quote before fight: Smile of sarcasm.

Arena: The Guardian Island main arena, many people are looking.

Fighters are 3 hexes from each other.

Fight...

Move 1- Rebellion move 3 hexes and try to make a Double Hit Kick for
combo
(dizzy) but Chaotic is more faster and move for combo (dizzy) 8 hexes
back.
Move 2- Chaotic make Repeating Fireball (from dizzy combo) and Rebellion
abort for Jump and try to avoid the 7 fireballs: She receive 2 fireballs
and
avoid the other 5. The damage received is: 1 and 3 points of damage.
Move 3- Chaotic move 5 hexes and try to make a Dark Chi Flaming Fierce
Punch
for combo (dizzy) but Rebellion is more faster and interrupt and make a
Backflip for combo and Chaotic receive: 5 points of damage and Rebellion
move 2 hexes back and Chaotic miss the target.
Move 4- Rebellion move 2 hexes and try to make a Foot Sweep for combo
but
Chaotic is more faster and make a Dragon Punch and Rebellion receives: 5
points of damage and the impact make Rebellion retreat 1 hex and make
her
miss the Foot Sweep for combo.
Move 5- Rebellion try to make a Lightining Leg but Chaotic is more
faster
move 1 hex and make a Dark Chi Flaming Fierce Punch for combo (dizzy)
and
Rebellion receives: 2 points of damage and Rebellion hit her Lightining
Leg
and Chaotic receives: 5,6,5 points of damage after the second kick
Chaotic
lost his balance and appears dizzy (falling without counscious) but
Rebellion make the last kick and the guy fly and fall over the sand of
the
Guardian arena.
That´s it Rebellion wins by knockout.
Rebellion points at opponent and turns hand to thumbs down.
Rebellion receives 4 exp points.

I'm also glad that other perple expounded on the game, it also had a
lot of limitations mainly because white wolf lost the license and we
as storytellers had to fill in where white wolf left off

It's like what I had heard in at somebody's web page str8 out of the

Don't feel yourself old. Just tell yourself that you have a REALLY
good memory. My personal favorite was that car, when he'd have a
human friend in the passenger seat, and he'd take a right angle

schmuck slapped up against the side of the car.

Anyways... I think it might be difficult to do him up as a SF
character, since that's about all I remember of him.....

let's see..cursor can be fudged

start him off with 20 health, he could lose 1 health every round
since
he is a hologram that needs charging when he runs out he gets weak
and
dissipates and needs to be charged again

5 dots in computer....he could probably do holographic illusions
and a high dex..some fudging may have to be done, probably best off
as
an n.p.c. though

as for manimal..

I'd create a new background "animal transformation" for the
limitation
I would say that he could only stay in that animal form no more than
2
or 3 rounds otherwise he starts losing intelligence and starts
behaving as that animal

what ya'll think?

The hulk, It would be easy to create the hulk because
there isnt a single world warrior that has a stat at
an eight, the hulk (at least judging by his commic
book.) is stronger than everyones scarred Russian
sambo practishoner, (if you dont know who im talking
about, than either do some home work or perhaps think
about unsubscribing j/k =) so he would have an eight,
which by the commic book standards is considerably
less, ( i think i heared that the hulk can lift like
100 tons.) now the hulk would have to subscribe to
streetfighter brand of reality, and that is that even
mutated bastiches in streetfighter are not as strong
as mutated bastards in the commics. so they might have
more going for them than a world warrior but it isent
nessesary to jack their stats up to like a 12!

Normally I hate moving characters from one system to another that doesn't "agree" with statistical changes (one reason I made EPICS the most easily compatible game of all time). In the case of the hulk, superman, spiderman and the like, however, I would say that I have to agree that you should limit their stats when making them Street Fighter characters, to simulate how video games like Capcom vs. Marvel evens their power out.
If you don't want to simulate the video game reality, you could use Legends to make characters with ultra-strength, endurance, etc. without having to raise stats to 100 dots (in superman's case - the guy can lift like 500,000 tons).

well you could make ya game interesting, if you have the aberrant
system also put out by white wolf.

they have good use of superhuman powers and stat ranges.

i have been toying with it recently, and a group of high powered
fighters (were talking with 4 to 5 year of roleplaying for each
character, most are around 8 or 9 rank), got thier asses handed to
them in a basket by a 16 year old kid (a Nova or Aberrant, whichever)

this went on about 5 fights, which was making my players unhappy,
with 5 loses in a row, thier circit standings dropped severely.

but, in an aberrant vs. aberrant fight

all bets are off, given the new level you can take your characters.

i personally am currently adapting streetfighter for the aberrant
universe, no main street fighter characters (basiccally cause i do
not have the XWF {Extreame Warfare Federation} for aberrant yet)

well thats enough of my ramblings,
later all

So far all I'm really planning are some chracter writeups, but if anyone has

I have no argument there! DC heroes is one of the very best systems ever to be put into print. For high or low powered characters, it fits just as well. You can make someone as powerful as the Hulk (or Superman!) with no problem and without large numbers!!

It sounds like a fantastic idea to me, although i would hope to find out about the orginizations you mentioned and how they relate to the united nations and nato, and all that jazz. I'd focus on one of the orginizations and detail it out very well, as a group for player characters to possibly join. I'd make up a couple of top-secret groups, too, including some good guys and some nasty terroist orginizations (and how they are connected to shadoloo!).
Don't forget those high-tech spy weapons, equipment and vehicles with an animae style, too!!

this.
In aberant (for the clueless the whitwolf super hero

(essintally these are stats above 5 but to greater
extent.) any way mega strength could be (at strteet

chart goes correctly in my head.
mega strength.
O: 1000 pounds and a -1 diff to sstr related rolls.
OO: 10 tons -2 to str diff.
OOO: 30 tons -3 str diff.
OOOO: 50 tons -4 to str diff.
OOOOO: 100 tons -5 to str diff.

Weither this would apply to damage is up to the story

The Delta Red sourcebook is a fantastic Idea, I'd love to see the results!
If you're short on material, you could always expand it to a general
"military in Street Fighter" book, that would get you Guile and possibly
Bison as well, as depending on which history you believe Guile's powers are
the result of a military project and Bison was a Soviet Psychic Soldier-good
luck!

If you read Abberant carefully you'll find Street Fighter/WOD Combat type
maneuvers already listed. For instance, there is no punch, but Strike, Kick,
etc. Each has a higher difficulty and different damage bonuses. In fact,
the claws power even uses an example combining the "strike" maneuver with the
claws damage. More maneuvers are introduced in later books especially the
wrestling one. It seems they really wanted to combine that aspect from the
very beginning. Of course they dropped the hexes. With maneuvers like
"Superspeed Slam" there's really no way to simulate a guy running at you at
sonic speeds for a bodyslam on a hex map.

hit someone. going from that, i would give him an 8 str, and maybe a 2 dex,
but give him the jump SM. just my thoughts.
