Rinaldo I am sorry for claming that you did not follow the rules. I went back to check, and I coudl find no where it stated that a blocking opponent couldn't be dizzied. It again must have been a very old house ruling that has been deeply engrained in my GM mindset. I shoudl not have made unfounded accuzations against you.

>>Mr. Furious: one dot in Animal hybrid (for the slightly

Hmm. was thinking he might have Dirty Fighting and Can of Whoop A** from
the Encyclopedia Combatica.

>>The Shoveler: three or four dots in blunt weapons (shovel) and maybe a dot
or two in Thrown (Trowel)
I can see that.

>>Blue Rajah: Ninjitsu stylist with five dots in thrown weapons
Ninjitsu? How about Escirma (knife fighting), got rules for it on Dogs of
War

>>The Spleen: Acid Breath in a gaseous form?
Nope. Acid Breath actually harms the subject. I was thinking of the
Flagulance Maneuver, to be used exactly as the Flash Maneuver from EC.

The Bowler: Kabaddi (mental capacity to speak with her bowling ball), Thrown
Weapons (throwing her ball)
I was thinking of a new Martial Art altogether, Bowling

Invisible Boy: Ghost Form
Hmmm... he can't go through things. I was thinking Special Power from the
EC...
what a useless power in combat, lol

The Sphinx: Kabaddi.
I can see that, with Telekenesis from EC.

Sorry to inflate the Encyclopedia Combatica so much in this mail, but I
think many of the powers there fit here.

I should do that to, I suppose.

Of course not. Well... not unless I can think of something worse. Maybe
I can slip in a couple of Jurai-helm refrences.

Subject: New Style: Storm Kung Fu
Background:

Kung Fu is known for its many substyles; Eight Drunken Genii, Eagle's Claw,
Shaolin, Dragon, and more. But there is one that has been lost to the
annals of history which has only recently re-surfaced. Storm Kung Fu is the
exclusive style of a cult of storm-worshippers known as the Warriors of the
Storm, studied deep within their secret temple somewhere in the China sea.
The cult is led, it is said, by a secretive and enigmatic individual known
as Lin Fang. No other ruler of the cult has ever been mentioned throughout
history, which has led some to believe that Lin Fang is actually several
hundred years old and was the cult's founder. Whether this is true or not,
he is said to be both the undisputed master of and inventor of Storm Kung
Fu.

Organization:

The Warriors of the Storm are ranked in three categories, each using a title
and colored Kung Fu uniform to denote his position. The Warriors of Air
wear white or grey, and the Warriors of Water wear blue. The levels of
mastery go from Disciple to Warrior to Storm Lord. In order to progress
from one level to the next, a fighter must acquire a certain number of dots
in his techniques, abilities, and attributes (much like a Ninja), then pass
a Trial. These trials generally involve combat and some test regarding the
fighter's chosen elemental specialty. Some Warriors of the Storm have gone
beyond even Storm Lord, and enter the Circuit on occasion to test their
abilities. Storm Kung Fu is about two shades of rare beyond even Majestic
Crow, in this regard.

The Style:

Storm Kung Fu uses the normal Special Maneuver, Chi, and Willpower ratings
for Kung Fu. In addition, the Storm Kung Fu practitioner must choose the
Elemental background of either Air or Water. Background dots are purchased
normally (see The Player's Guide for more information on Elementals). Storm
Kung Fu stylists prefer sweeping, circular attacks (to mimic the flow of air
and water currents) and direct, hard-hitting, fast attacks. Their Special
maneuver choices will definitely display patterns that are weather oriented,
such as Hurricane/Whirlwind Kick, Rekka Ken (aka the 'Wind Fist'), Lightning
Leg, Shock Treatment, and Elemental powers like Flight, Air Blast, Drench,
and Push.

Stats for the Stylists are forthcoming, as are those for Lin Fang.

Lin Fang:

Rumored to be centuries old, Lin Fang is unique among fighters in that he is
one of the only individuals in existence to master multiple Elemental
backgrounds. Lin Fang is said to have both the powers of Air and Water and
a number of other techniques that legend only hints about. Nothing can be
said for sure, unfortunately, as no one has seen him in years... not even
his students. Storm Lords handle most of the daily activities of the cult's
temple, including training of new Disciples. One thing is certain, though:
if he did exist, and did choose to fight, he would give any of the current
World Warriors one hell of a fight.

Something just occured to me. If Dustin (the man who DEFINES Warrior's
Pride), Rinaldo (Heihachi, Bison, and even The Eternal Champion have
NOTHING on this guy when it comes to running a tournament), and everyone
else who's in the Gateway tournmament agree, maybe we can have a special
edition of Warrior's Pride all about the Gateway tournament. It would
have all the little (and the not so little) side stories, the promotional
"friendly fights", character stats and backgrounds both before and after
the tournament, and whatever else we can think of.

Hey! Maybe if we suck up to him enough, we can convince the Pittman to do
some art for it.

So what do you think? Yes? No? Make it so?

That sounds mucho-cool.
But with so many in the mix I would imagine that it woudl be quite an
undertaking in order to do most-everyone justice.

Still it sounds great.

When ever my characters want you use and unsanctioned move on an opponent,
Especially one like pull out thier legs or throwing something at them, that
usualy doesn't do damadge, I just tell them to play a stunt card.

They then normally have to get 2-5 successes on a Tech/Atrib. Roll.
For instance..

Arinie Sudinani, wished to throw a towl over this one guys head. I had him
play a stunt card with a Speed of +0. He had to roll his Stealth+Dexterity
against the guys Preception+Alertness.

That's a good point, but maybe you could list any new maneuvers, styles,

the bottom of each character, like "Mr. Furious' new maneuvers".

Yea, and I do usually do that when I create new material. I even do it on
my NPCs' sheets when they've got additional features, since I tend to jot
down the effects on a maneuver so I don't have to look it up in combat. But
at the same time, ganking stuff from other places is a pain for a number of
reasons. I'm also just too lazy. ;)

Well, Sunday has come and gone, and no nominations. I suppose that the
"official rule" thing wasn't as a popular idea as I had thought. Oh, well.
Anyone still interested in the idea please e-mail me at

Subject: Re: Mystery Men
On a related note, I rented Mystery Men again the other day. It's always
funny to see my very-innocent-to-the-ways-of-the-West Chinese fiance react
to such classic bits of Americana. As a result of the Spleen, she gets
hysterical giggles every time she hears me break wind these days.

Lord help us all if she ever starts to actually understand South Park.

That's a good point, but maybe you could list any new maneuvers, styles,
etc. with the character when you mention it. All it takes is a section at
the bottom of each character, like "Mr. Furious' new maneuvers".

Sounds good to me. I'm sure that I could fit it in on the projects I'm
currently working on. If everyone else is up to it, so am I.

Well in my new tournament Ages the Ambition wish the rank of fighters is 9 and the fighters receive a more points in new packet of rank 9 fighter or should say you can use the same character but you must add the Rank 9 points. But I´m think to in continue Gateway sequences- and this with sure you can use Johnny Invincible for example.

This the Rank 9 pack: Many persons will change or don´t have fighters and if the Gateway tournament fighters enter they have a litle exp and I don´t known if is fair for the others.

Atributes 10/8/6 (none higher than 7)
Habilities 16/13/10 (none higher than 7)
Techniques 25 (none higher than 7)
Chi Willpower: per style
Initial Health 15
Glory and Honor 15 (make a division for this ex: Glory 9 Honor 6)
Special Manuvers 25
Freebies 30
Backgrounds 15 (none higher than 7)

It´s valid spent freebies like normal initials the limitation is none of dots can pass 7 limit.
This a initial pack for rank 9 fighters this like a new figther except he have more points to expent and more freebies make like a normal character in the beggining.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this. The
library isn't open on Saturdays or Sundays, and it's
the only place I have access to the Internet at the
moment.

Here's Artemis's response:

> Visage: Wait is another person and she point to
> Artemis Steele. And they
> leave the arena to talk with Artemis Steele.
>

Artemis looked up as Visage and Franois approached
her. She had been watching the fight, and could see
something had changed in her. Maybe she was right
after all.

Visage/Sophie started to say something, but Artemis
stopped her. "It's all right. I've heard stories of
how M. Bison can control the minds of those he beats.
If anyone's responsible for Yukiko's death, he is."
Tears started to form in her eyes, but she quickly
brushed them away, replacing them with grim
determination. "I'm not going to stop until the evil
tyrant is dethroned. You have a new life to look
forward to, Vis...I mean, Sophie. Make the most of
it." With that, Artemis turned and headed of to a
quiet area of the arena, to think, and prepare...

(Okay, I know I'm not Hemingway, but, what does
everyone think?)

Sounds like a good idea. I'm curious as to some of
the other characters backgrounds (you already know
about Artemis's). So bring it on.

Actually, I think it's a pretty good idea, but you choose a very poor time
(for me at least) to introduce it. I also don't have net access on weekends.

Thanks, I've been working really hard on it. Still have a few kinks in the
system to work out, but nothing that will take a really long time to do.
Sorry for the lull of Dark Streets, to those players. Work has also been

I have all day off Thursday, promise a turn will be posted by then at the

It´s not science I´m a lazy guy all right I acept it I can make all during week but I think, if I make the tournament in the week and not in the weekend some persons don´t have time to send me corrections and tactics, with a time regular week and make the fights at weekend people have time to think and make corrections and it´s a chance to persons who are out and for example is Friday and only in this day Guy A turn on his computer and read mails he see and make corrections and I will receive his changes and use it. The idea to use Weekends to Dark Streets is a good idea, I like the new page too.

Subject: Repost: Yoshimitsu's Nightmare Guard
Dustin: If you'd like to include these guys in the next Warrior's Pride, go
ahead.

Background:

Mention the name Yoshimitsu to any ninja and you will usually get one of two
reactions: that of fear, or that of sadness. It all depends on which
version of the legend the ninja has heard... or if they've actually faced a
Nightmare Guard in combat.

The most common story goes like this: Yoshimitsu was a powerful ninja clan
leader who was betrayed by one of his own men during a war with the Lin Kuei
of China. He was struck down by the leader of the Lin Kuei himself, and
every one of his ninja were slaughtered in the conflict.

But that is not where the story ends. It is said that in addition to being
very powerful in the ways of ninjitsu, Yoshimitsu was also One with the
Powers of Darkness. The source of this power is unclear; some say it was
the result of a powerful but corrupt artifact, others that he'd sold his
soul to a devil. The end result is the same, however; Yoshimitsu's presence
in this world did not end with his death.

Nor, apparently, did the presence of his clan.

The Nightmare Guard is the name given to the shades of Yoshimitsu's ninja,
who under the proper circumstances can be summoned and controlled by those
who strike a deal with their leader's spirit.

Appearance:

The Nightmare Guard is rarely seen, but when someoneone catches a glimpse he
sees what looks like a ninja in a standard nightsuit, covered with a heavy
cloak bound by a thick sash. The ninja's face is concealed by a hooded
cowl, the interior of which is pitch black except for two glowing red
pinpoints of light. They do not speak, nor rarely make any sound, even when
struck. Upon being "killed", the Guard's clothing collapses to the floor,
empty. A small pile of thick, sooty ash is usually left behind as well.

While they lack personality, the Guard is efficient in their ninja duties,
displaying all the skill and cunning of a living warrior.

Special Abilities:

The Nightmare Guard feels no pain and therefore cannot be Dizzied. In
addition, they are immune to all mind-affecting attacks (Cobra Charm,
Death's Visage, et al) and any attempt to use Telepathy or Mind-Reading on
one will result in no effect.

Knife (the black, wavy-bladed variety with a demon's head hilt and pommel)

Subject: United Enforcement Battle Droids
Background:

United Enforcement, Inc. is the Microsoft of the military technology world.
They have offices on every continent across the globe, supplying any
government or private organization that can meet their price with the finest
equipment money can buy. Naturally, Interpol keeps a close eye on the
corporation, which does very little to cover up many of its unethical and
borderline illegal activities: Shadoloo is one of their biggest customers as
are any terrorist group with decent backing. UE owns many of the world's
largest conglomorates, including Mishima Heavy Industries and the Daitokuji
Financial Group.

UE's presence on the Circuit is well known; the higher-ups in the company
love Street Fighting and will covertly sponsor any fighter they deem worthy
of their attention, providing them with the finest training and equipment
they could ask for. Some speculate that in return, other than percentages
of the fighter's winnings, the corporation will often ask 'favors' of its
fighters, but no one can confirm this for sure... UE's fighters are quite
understandibly fiercely loyal to their providers and will rarely reveal any
shady dealings in the company. In addition, several Hybrids on the circuit
are rumored to come from UE's genetical engineering experiments, but again,
this is nearly impossible to confirm. UE has enough lawyers on staff to
keep such rumors from getting very far, and UE has yet to be fined by any
governing body for its business practices.

UE's weapons and technology is the most advanced the world has ever seen.
They have pushed the envelope in artifical intelligence, robotics,
cybernetics, and conventional firearms to unheard-of levels. Rumors abound
of a secret division within the company known as "the Unreal Team" who have
the assignment of creating working prototypes of advanced weaponry from
existing movies and video games. If such a team does exist, it would
explain where the Doomtrooper-One Plasma Rifle came from, and why M. Bison's
troops always seem to have a ready supply of them. It would also explain
the Omni-Series Enforcement Droid, due to its shocking resemblance to the
ED-209 of Robocop fame.

Apparently, the Unreal Team (if they exist) has been locked in a small room
with a VCR and a copy of Star Wars: Episode I. The latest offering from
UE's tech department is the Battle Droid, an exact replica of the robot from
the film. There's even a fully-functional Destroyer model, complete with
energy shield and "roll-away" option.

Appearance:

The UE Battle Droid is a spindly, armor-plated humanoid creation with an
elongated skull and square, streamlined-box-style body. It is fully
equipped with a speech synthesizer and can be programmed to follow voice
commands from a designated leader (whether that leader be another Droid, a
human, or a tactical computer), work in "self-think" mode (currently buggy:
the droid is better off following orders), or a combination of both. It can
handle conventional weaponry with ease, but the droid's primary weapon
consists of the rugged and reliable BL31 Blaster Rifle. Effective at almost
any range, the BL31 can be set for both stun and lethal damage. It contains
an on-board mini-generator, resulting in an unlimited ammo supply for up to
ten years.

Currently, the droid is in prototype development and is being use to
supplement security at UE research compounds across the world.

Destroyer model:

A squad black variant that walks on a tripod, the Destroyer droid has a
twin-blaster array and can generate a powerful energy shield to protect
itself. The shield only works from the front, however. In addition, for
added mobility, the droid can curl itself into a ball and roll at speeds up
to thirty miles per hour.

Stat differences:

The Destroyer variant's energy shield, when activated, gives the droid an
additional +4 soak to attacks from the front, although the droid cannot
deploy the shield while rolling and the shield requires one full round to
activate, during which the droid may not fire. When in Roll mode, the droid
effectively gains +4 to its Move. Its normal Athletics rating is 2 (the
droid is a tripod and is built for stability, not mobility, in its primary
mode). In addition, knocking the droid down via sweeps requires three
successes on a damage roll and is at +2 difficulty.

I take it that this is not based on the Tekken Yoshimitsu?

They're a combination of things. The Nightmare Guard originally appeared in
Golden Dragon's Fantasy Gamebooks' #2: The Temple of Flame. They were the
bodyguards of Damontir the Mad and would drop out of the shadows to hassle
the player whenever it was most annoying. I altered their weapons a bit...
the original Nightmare Guard were masters of the garotte and would instantly
snap your neck if they rolled high enough to hit.

Yoshimitsu I borrowed the look of from Tekken, but I didn't like the "space
ninja" concept and turned him into an undead warrior instead. He's better
that way.

Sounds a lot like Marvel's Hand.  Personally I'm more of a Foot clan fan.
I take it that this is not based on the Tekken Yoshimitsu?

...I have no idea why Namco created Yoshimitsu's costume the way they did, and then called him a 'space ninja'.  That's what the manual says, at any rate.  I turned him into a ghost... which would explain why he looks the way he does.

Also, ninja don't use their nightsuits as much as popular cinema would lead us to believe.  At least, not according to the books on ninjitsu I own.

Wait a minute... I alway think Yoshimitsu is a some type of Samurai, by Katana use if he ia ninja a Ninja-to is required to use, all right the sword don´t make the type but if is a ninja why that color suit I thought ninjas have a stealth temper and prefer to use dark clothes to better disapear in the night.

Yoshimitsu I borrowed the look of from Tekken, but I didn't like the "space
ninja" concept and turned him into an undead warrior instead.  He's better
that way.

Yup much cinema and popcorn, but I still prefer Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and Van Damme and of course Hong Kong films (It´s cheap but funny if you see the best part is the sound here in Brazil they change the voice of actors to our language and in the process they put litle words in the place of major words so you see the guy talking less than his mounth show and is very funny, ahh that sounds of punches and kicks too.
