Basic, because there arn't complicated hand and foot movements that deal with
many joint locks or many foot positions in steps.

Dark Hope looks at the cigar on the ground looks back up at Mr. Military and says, "I see you like cigars I suggest you smoke as many as you like. Because after the fight you'll be lucky to even rember what a cigar is." Dark Hope then floats back a little and disappears.

Narrowing his eyes, he thumped his cigar to the floor, stepped on it, crushing it flat.

Mack shifted in his uniform. It was itchy. The goggles he wore, while making him look rather impressive he thought, were also hard to see through at this time of night. But it was required uniform for Pentex guards. The goggles were only slightly shaded, and were supposed to be flash resistant.
Not that anyone would know if he wasn't in uniform. Nobody was out here on the old harbor area of New York. Just him and the guys out front. Of course, there might be others inside, but he didn't know, he wasn't allowed inside.
His gun felt good by his side. It would be so cool, he thought, if someone were to try to break in. Then he could show them just how ready he was, grabbing his gun and letting lose. Pentex would give him a raise, maybe even a promotion.
Mack felt around his pockets for a cigarette, and found a half-empty pack in the left one on his chest. He reached into his pants pocket to get his lighter.
As he did, something came at him. Mack panicked, letting out a slight yelp. The object came quickly, then passed over him. A bird, maybe a bat. Mack watched as it flew to the top of the roof, landed, and cawed a couple of times.
"Hey." Came the call from behind him, in a not-too-loud voice. Mack spun around.
There was a momentary pause by Mack, when his face was obviously an expression of sheer surpass. However, the expression didn't last long. Mack felt the foot of the intruder smash against his face and everything went black.
As Mack lay on the ground, the last thing he thought to himself was that he probably didn't look so impressive in his goggles right now.

Sago's foot came back down, and he went quickly for the door, but a step away from it paused.
"Shhhh." Sago made the sound to tell the others to keep quiet.
    "What?" Sammi asked.
    "Be quiet."
    "I was."
    "I know."
"Then why did you tell me to be quiet?" Sammi looked irritated.
    "Quiet." Eric said.
"OK", Sammi and Sago said in unison.
    -------
The lock was electronic. A code would be needed to get inside. Sago scratched his chin, looking for a key or a card of some type. Sure enough, the guard had a pass card, and Sago smiled.
"Everything's going pretty good so far."
The guards walkie talkie came on. A mans voice spoke, mixed with static. "Hey, ah, Mack, is everything, ah, alright over dere?"

Sago was very impressed. Those goggles _hurt_ damnit!

Just out of curiosity, if Mack's not allowed inside, why does he have a
card key. Believe me, I'm not complaining.

Sago picks up the radio and answers in a tired, scratchy voice, "Yeah, uh,

    I'm coming down with something."

Well, not that your character would know, but it doesn't matter so I'll tell
you. The guards were told to stay outside and not to bother anyone in there.
However, the guards have to have a way in if anything happens and they need
to go in guns-a-blazin. If there is an emergency, they aren't gonna just sit
outside wishing they weren't told not to go in.

Group: streetfighter Message: 5320 From: J. Scott Pittman Date: 1/27/2000
    Subject: Dark Streets Exp award
Sammi, Eric and Sago all get 1 exp for starting to learn about working
together as a team. However, future awards for this will require some
player-to-player discussion, not just one person taking action and the rest
following. If players come up with thier own plans, instead of just
announcing that they will "sneak up", will also merit awards (this falls
under the catagory of resourcefulness also).
Role playing awards can come several ways. E-mails that don't really
define what the character is doing, but what is going through his/her mind
will be rewarded. I will judge each such mail and write down a percentage
chart that adds on with each e-mail. the better the e-mail, the more
percentage. When a player reaches 100%, he gains an instant role-playing
award of 1 exp, and his percentage falls to 0% again.
Learning curve awards will be awarded in the same manner, with a
percentage given with each thing learned by the character. As I said before,
these points will be very difficult to earn. Learning curves can be posted
on the streetfighter e-mail or in a private e-mail to me, either way is
    fine.

The players are currently in Chapter 2 of the story. Starting next turn, the
simple turns system will end, and I will post each e-mail by chapter and
turn to clarify when other exp awards are coming. Dark Streets: Chapter 2,
turn 9 (for example). When a new chapter starts, exp will be given. This
will make it easier for me to remember to award points as well.

Sammi quickly stifled a giggle when Sago answered.
"Yeah," she whispered, "a case of 'Boot to the Head'
syndrome." She waited until Sago put the radio back
down and looked at him. "Look, I'm sorry for turning
'dictator' back there on the roof, but these kids are
in trouble, and we're the only ones who can help. It
seemed like we were just going to stand there arguing
all night on how to get in. I had to do something."
Sammi began rubbing her left arm, then reached down
    and searched the guard.

OOC: You said in the description that the guard had
half a pack of smokes. Sammi's gonna look for that,
and a lighter or pack of matches. Might come in handy
inside. She's also gonna snag the goggles, if they're
    still intact. (I've gotta hunch...)

I'm not proud to say that WP#3 will have a delay. Expect it in early
Febuary, probably sometime within the first week. It will still be
considered the January issue however. I'm sorry for the delay, but it will
be released soon and WP#4 will still be released in Febuary.

Well, since this message got through, I am once again able to send and
receive mail. Since last weekend I've had to wait while my server fixed a
major hard drive crash. Add the fact that my web browser wouldn't connect
to the eGroups site, made contributing to the list next to impossible.
It's like looking into a room but being unable to enter.

Anyways, Scott, did you get any of the e-mails I'd sent explaining the
situation at the time? Judging by the posts, it looks like the rest of the
group has whipped through Turn 8 of Dark Streets. So where does this leave
    Ryuu at this point?

I haven't neglected the game or the list, I've just been unable to
    communicate.

OOC: rubbing her left arm is a nervous habit she does

Actually, I've never played MGS, but a friend of mine
actually went through and recorded not only all the
cinema sequences (MGS the movie?), but a few of the
    battles and character hints.

OOC: You're not gonna let me live that nickname down,

    Hey everyone,

I'm considering posting a new web page called Official Streetfighter
    Mailing List Rules.

This is how it will work:

First, I will ask for nominations for a rule, background, style, or other
aspect of Street Fighter found anywhere on the net. After I have received
the first 5 or so nominations, I will hold a vote for the rule to be added
as "official". Once it has been chosen I will ask for the mailing list to
help me modify, clarify, and "round-out" the new item. Finally, I will post
a vote for the rule and ask for a vote. I hope to gain at least 25-50
results for each item voted on. The voting days will be set, so voters will
have a limited time to vote in. If 75% or more of the voters agree that the
item voted on should be "official" were it in a new sourcebook, then the
rule, background, maneuver, etc. will be added to the "official" rules list
    on my page.
Nominations should be limited to one thing - one specific maneuver, style,
    background, etc.

Would everyone be interested in this kind of vote?

Hmm. was thinking he might have Dirty Fighting and Can of Whoop A** from
    the Encyclopedia Combatica.

    >>The Shoveler: three or four dots in blunt weapons (shovel) and maybe a dot
    or two in Thrown (Trowel)
    I can see that.

    >>Blue Rajah: Ninjitsu stylist with five dots in thrown weapons
Ninjitsu? How about Escirma (knife fighting), got rules for it on Dogs of
    War

    >>The Spleen: Acid Breath in a gaseous form?
Nope. Acid Breath actually harms the subject. I was thinking of the
Flagulance Maneuver, to be used exactly as the Flash Maneuver from EC.

The Bowler: Kabaddi (mental capacity to speak with her bowling ball), Thrown
    Weapons (throwing her ball)
I was thinking of a new Martial Art altogether, Bowling

    Invisible Boy: Ghost Form
Hmmm... he can't go through things. I was thinking Special Power from the
    EC...
what a useless power in combat, lol

    The Sphinx: Kabaddi.
I can see that, with Telekenesis from EC.

Sorry to inflate the Encyclopedia Combatica so much in this mail, but I
think many of the powers there fit here.

    Subject: Ages: Ambition Tournament.
I want make a new tournament with fighters at rank 9 and this could be
    fun!!!
But I use a diferent type of rules this time for Character
    constructions:

Atributes 10/8/6 (none higher than 7)
Habilities 16/13/10 (none higher than 7)
Techniques 25 (none higher than 7)
    Chi and Willpower: per style
    Initial Health 15
Glory and Honor 15 (make a division for this ex: Glory 9 Honor 6)
    Special Manuvers 25
    Freebies 30
Backgrounds 15 (none higher than 7)

It´s valid spent freebies like normal initials the limitation is none of
    dots can pass 7 limit.
This a initial pack for rank 9 fighters this like a new figther except
he have more points to expent and more freebies make like a normal
    character in the beggining.

    What people think?

    Ages History:

A much time ago a strange creature called Guardian travel the time and
space to bring at his hide island some persons of courage and worth to a
combat for the best thing of this world a full and without restrictions
wish. This creature don´t tell his intentions but only have the power of
time travel and teleport this isn´t a joke.
Ps: No weapons here and after all I don´t have a full rule for Hybrids
and Cyborgs rules because that I prefer let them out for this event,
    Elementals are in the game.
Introduce some Npc´s: I only use them if I don´t have enought people.

Ernest Voss: A officer of Nazi Army of Second war, he wears a full
    uniform.
Nicolai Machievelli: A priest of 10 a.C, always make prays and talk
about Bible passages, dress a priest robes.
Thore: A huge nordic wizard, he wears a leather vest.
Ibhrain Sallen: A arabic fighter with a strange philosopy.
Myung: A chinese girl appears lost here.
Sir Richard Eisenstaad: A gentleman from Victorian age.
    Flaminus Agrippa: A roman centurion.
    Kenji Takeda: A ninja.
    Genjuro Ryuji: A samurai.
    Ryoko Yamamura: A karate lady.

I have it fine on this end.

However, I've run into problems that sound like this before. It's usually
    one of 3 things.

    1) Download didn't complete.
    2) Lack the proper fonts (in this case, Book Antiqua.)
    3) Format unsupported by whatever you are using to view the file.

E-mail me privately and I'll e-mail the font. However, font files are LARGE
    and may clutter small mailboxes.

Please include this message, or at least the font name, in the request so I
don't have to dig it up again.

Subject: Eight finals: Dark Hope Vs Mr.Military.
Dark Hope Style: Ler Drit Country: Thailand Player: Chad Phillips.

Quote Before Fight: Appears from nowhere before the fight with a Scythe
points it at his opponent and says "Now you will serve my master!". Then
throws the Scythe away and assumes a fighting stance.

Appearance: He stands 6' 2" and from estimates weighs about 180.lbs
although it is difficult to tell anything else about him due to the fact
that his face and body are covered in black robes and hood along with
black boots and black gloves. He has a deep voice that seems to emnate
from the ground. His accent makes him sound American.

    Vs

Mr.Military style: Special Forces country: Usa player: J.Scot Pittman.

Appearance: Mr. Military, an afirian-american, dresses in a marine full
military dress uniform, and is very clean cut. However, he is almost
always seen smoking a smelly cigar. His expression is always one of
disgust or seriousness. Mr.Military stands 6 ft. exactly, with black,
crew-cut hair, deep brown eyes. He bears a scar of unknown origin that
runs from the top of the left side of his forehead all the way down the

unconscious you will return with me. You have your soul back but this
don´t save you from me or my master and this kid is going to be a great

Ahhh well. A decent attempt at least.
It shoudl be note though that the rules state the a blocking opponent can
    never be Dizzied.

not that that would have won me the match anyway.

But how this, I only follow the instructions of both players, and about a block avoid dizzy efect I don´t belive because I read that book and don´t mention it and all the time of Friendly fights and in Official matches anyone tell me this and I dizzy block opponents.
You already see my plans for tournaments with rank 9 fighters?
This could be fun. And remember this only a game but I must ask why block will avoid dizzy efect in the video game is right but like I heard a litle time ago the Rpg is a conversion and not a full copy of video game.
    Regards from my part =).
