Hey Rinaldo,

I got a question for you in move 2 of my fight you said, "Unknowledge receives: 5 points of damage, stun!!! and receive no damage." Now this confuses me because what I'm reading is that I hit him for 5, stunned, and then the damage was negated some how. Now then does that mean that the second part didn't happen or am I missing something about what you're saying. But aside from that I like the fights.

Thanks -Chad Phillips

So, what you're saying is that this first round is a
round robin match-up (fighting everyone in the group),
and the top two in each group move on to the next
round?

Kewl.

You're doing great, Rinaldo. Keep it up.

For note, I have the following characters in-game. Rinaldo and Arkon have
characters being submitted. If your character does not appear below (or if
you are not Rinaldo or Arkon) then please e-mail me if you want to be in the

Combatica? Which Combatica? Arkon compendium? What zine was mentioned in
connection to animal hybrids? Why is the moon yellow? Green cheese?

(No, really, I'd like to know the location of these resources if I could,
since I'd like to read them :) Preferably before I devoted a lot of time
and energy to update my Street Fighter pages...)

Warrior's Pride, located in the egroups Vault.

"Why is the moon yellow?"

sorry, I tried to hold it 'till I got home...

"Green cheese?"

the cat's eaten it.

Nobody hurts a kid on _my_ watch! "Sammi!" I bark out, trying to be
heard over the noise of the crowd, "You take care of those two fools.
I'll handle the backup." Granted, I knew just this side of nothing about
her, but she seemed to be, how did Greg put it? A good egg? Yeah, she
seemed to be a good egg.
I jump high over the heads of the crowd, landing a roundhouse kick on the
forehead of the man with the steel pipe.
Chris:
Where had I seen this kid before? You'd think that those ears would make
him stick out in my memory. Maybe I never noticed them before. Sago the
Perceptive, that's me.
This is going to bug me all day now.

OOC: Is Sharky the same guy I talked to to get my fight?
No. Shark is a well dressed man with a wide grin full of teeth. The man Sago
spoke to to get in the tournament was well dressed, but not with the style
Shark seems to have.

How's our (Sammi's and my) health doing? Have we recovered from our
fights (Something I should have thought about _before_ I jumped into
this)?
The fight seems to have resulted in bruises and scratches, but you both seem
OK (Health has been regained).

Sago leaped into action, running a few steps and springing up and over the
crowd, landing foot-first into the large, muscled man that was approaching
Sammi's location. Obviouslly, the thug never even saw Sago coming, except
prehaps at the last second as he turned to view the bottom of a large work
boot about to crash into his face.
After a quick yet memorable sound not unlike someone stomping his foot
against a bedroom wall, the once-fearsome lackey seemed to float into the
air slowly, then crash quickly to the ground, crushing two old garbage cans
behind him. It was hard to tell if the man or the cans looke better now.
Sago gave the thug a quick glance to make sure he was down, then turned to
see what was happening in Sammi's direction.

Group: streetfighter Message: 5023 From: J. Scott Pittman Date: 1/11/2000
Subject: Dark Streets, turn 6, Sammi (Josh Diemert), Ryuu (Dylan Downing)
Ryuu's eyes grew wide. "Gomen nasai," he stopped himself from continuing,
remembering that mama-san had said most people didn't speak Japanese here
in America. "I.. I'm sorry, I not mean to bump into you..." Ryuu trailed
off as five men started to close in on him.
Ryuu moved backwards still apologizing when his ear twitched. He froze,
suddenly terrified, at the sound of ... "something" metallic being snapped
into place and the cold gleam of metal that was reflected in the dim light.

IC: Sammi heard Sago shout out and quickly looked
around, seeing the two goons trying to grab the
cat-boy. 'I don't think this was on tonight's
schedule.' she thought to herself. 'So much for that
2 grand.'
"Hey kid, get behind me." she shouted to Ryuunosuke as
she spun around, driving her sneakered foot into the
closest thug's gut.

Dylan:
IC: Ryuu ducked down and scrambed under the closet table, trying to get out
of the way. Poking his head up over the tables edge, he got to his feet.
Looking at the people who sat around the table in a stunned silence, Ryuu
smiled brightly. "Sorry," he said before rushing over to where Sammi had
indicated.

One rough-looking muscleman came barreling at Sammi. She kicked, hopping
slightly and sending a heel to the man's neck area. Sure enough, she
connected with his chin, and he went flying back into Shark, knocking him
back as well. The knife the man was holding slipped from his grip and went
to the ground.
The second guard, a man with a sinister scar that made his lip curl up
slightly in a permanent scar, was, however, ready to attack with his blade.
Sammi had no time to duck, no time to react to the steel that would pierce
her form in some place that would probably be most unpleasent. She winced.
Suddenly, however, there was a cry from above, as a large bird came
crashing into the man's already-scarred face. Screaming, his eyes filled
with horror, as if reliving some past memory. "No!" he cried, and ran in the
other direction as fast as he could. The large bird then flew away.
Sammi looked back to where Shark was. He and the other thug had split.
Figured.

Ryuu was amazed! There people were real fighters, and they took up for him
as well! That was a really good thing, too, because his mom and dad would
have been furious to know he was out here, and being kidnapped would have
been hard to explain.
Not that he needed the help. After all, he had been reading all those
kung-fu magazines on top of the Ju Jitsu training his grandfather had been
giving him. He could have probably done that. Probably.
Being the attempt of a kidnapping began to puzzle Ryuu. Why would those
men have wanted to "get" him? Mabye he wasn't going to be kidnapped, but
just thrown out of the area. But he had never had any problems before. Lots
of kids came around.

"Thanks! That was great, you really banged up those guys! Did you see them
run? hah!"
"You OK kid?" Sammi asked.
"Umm hmm", Ryuu mummed, indicating a positive response, bobbing his head
up and down in the "yes" fashion.
"Good."
Sago came running up, releived to see that everyone was OK. "I see you
guys are alright. Where's Shark?"
Sammi looked sour. "He took off."
"Figures." Sago responded.
"That's what I said." Sammi returned, although she had thought it, not
actually said the words.
Ryuu was still smiling. "Did you see that bird? Was that your pet?"
"No, it was mine." The voice that seemed to come from nowhere whispered
the answer. Then a figure appeared from the shadows nearby, just away from
the crowd. The large crow flying down, landing on his shoulder.
"Well, thank you, mister, you saved my a-", Sammi looked down at Ryuu,
"life! That guy had a knife. What's your name?"
"Call me Eric."

The four approached the last remaining thug, the one knocked unconcious by
Sago's swift kick. He grumbled awake, cornered by the group. Sago picked the
man up, and tossed him into an abandoned building behind the garbage cans.
Once everyone was in, Eric closed the door, giving the interrigators some
privacy.
"Why were you after the kid?" Sago demanded, with seemingly much more
authority in his voice than some street fighter. "Tell us and you can go, or
don't and we'll see what comes next."
Game Note: Sago rolls maniupulation + Interrogation but gets no successes.
The large man smiled. "You don't scare me boy. I've been through worse
than you can give out for fun."
Game Note: Ryuu rolls Animal Hybird background + perception and gains 2
successes.
"What's this?" Ryuu pointed at a tatoo on the man's forearm. It was of a
blue dragon curled upon a small image of the globe.
Sammi shrugged, and Eric stood perfectly still, although his crow seemed
to rustle a bit.
Game note: Sago rolls investigation+Intelligence, and gains 4 successes.
"The Blue dragons. A powerful gang association in the New York area, tied
in with lots of other crimminal elements. Supposedly kidnappers as well,
huh, big guy?"
"Kidnappers!" Sammi's eyes grew narrow, and she started to walk toward the
big man, her fists in tight knots, her muscles showing through her ripped
sleeves.
Game note: Sammi rolls Intimidation + Appearance, and gains 5 successes!
"OK. OK!" The defeated prisinor yelled, "You win! Ya, man, I work for da
blue dragons. You know, doin' stuff. But that kidnapper thing man, that's
not normally how it is, I mean, when we out on our own. It happens, but only
when we paid good money by Shark. Shark works for Pentex, man, and he wanted
to do some stuff on the side, some scientist stuff. Somethin' about the kid
having some kind of special powers. Shark works out of the dock area, a big
building , er, wharehouse 6. He's got some more tanks there with kids in em,
you know, with like tubes and stuff in em', but said he knows someone at the
police headquaters and if the police are called he'd dump em' in the river!
He said if we didn't call anyone they would live and be even better,
whatever that means. this kid was supposed to be the last one. That's all I
know man, swear!"

What will the characters do?

That would be a big e-mail, perhaps I should just send you which books can
be used... hahah.
You can use any character made from the official books. All characters
should be Rank 1. I will also allow Maneuvers, Backgrounds and Styles from
the Dogs of War page/Encyclopedia Combatica. Merits and Flaws rules are NOT
used, and each character submitted must include how freebie points were
used. I prefer "travel worthy" characters, who can appear just about
anywhere the adventure might go, or may appear and join the Team in almost
any location. This usually means they are part of the Street Fighter ring,
but you may come up with another reason if you like.

Sammi looked at the punk, then turned on her heel.
"Anyone who picks on defenseless kids needs to be
taken down a notch or two. C'mon, Ryu, Sago..." She
stopped for a moment when she saw Eric and his pet
bird. Something about the way he just 'appeared' from
the shadows unnerved her, but she shook it off. "You
too, Eric. I've got a feeling we're going to need all
the help we can get."

"Besides," she mumbled to herself. "That bastard owes
me 2 grand for my win..."

(Sammi's heading for the warehouse.)

Subject: Artemis's thoughts before the next match...
Artemis had watched the fight between Blaise and Levi
carefully, looking for potential weaknesses in both
their fighting styles. The match was over far too
quickly for her tastes, but it had allowed her to
realize a few things.

Levi liked to keep her opponents at arm's length,
which was quite a distance considering that Extendable
Limb trick she knew. That Sonic Boom of hers didn't
help matters either. Artemis knew what she had to do
in that match up.

The one that worried her was Blaise. She had heard
rumors about his Majestic Crow style, in particular
ones about a devastating throw that could seriously
hurt an opponent. She hadn't seen him use it, but he
didn't have time to try it in the fight. "Let's hope
he hasn't had the chance to learn it." Artemis mumbled
to herself.

Artemis felt sure of herself after her victory over
the Wu Shu student, but she quickly reminded herself
that anything could happen...and she hadn't quite
perfected her newest move.

Ryuu's eyes widened in horror. How could people be so mean, he thought.
He'd never done anything mean to anybody, but someone wanted to put tubes
in him. He shivered, thinking of the other kids who were apparently locked
in cages.

His ear twitched at the sound of footsteps. Looking around, he saw Sammi
walk away from the cowering man. "C'mon, kid, Sago..." She called out
before stopping by the man who owned the bird. "You too, Eric. I've got a
feeling we're going to need all the help we can get."

Scampering up to Sammi he looked up hopefully at her. "We're going to help
them, aren't we Sammi-san?"

"Yeah we are..." she paused for a moment. "What's your name?"

"Ryuunosuke, but all my friends in Japan call me Ryuu." He looked at her
quizzically. "Do you want to be friends?"

(Ryuu's going to the warehouse with the others)

OOC: I'm pretty sure there hasn't been time for Ryuu to introduce himself
to the others, so the last couple of lines serves as that introduction.
(Unless of course Sammi has telepathy and knows everyone's name and where
they live ^_^)

Pentex. The company that defined the term evil megacorp. Considered by
interpol to be just under Shadoloo and Microsoft on the 'World's Most Evil
and Dangerous Groups That We Have To Take Down' list.

Why do I have this fealing that my life is now traped dancing in some dark
downward spiral? Still, it could be worse. We could be dealing with
Genom. I'll take anything Pentex can dish out over a fusion boomer any
day.

"Let's go! But first I have to make a phone call."

I make my way to a pay phone and call my manager and give him a brief
rundown on what happened. Using wiggy secret agent doubletalk I tell him
he needs to have someone make a pickup and not to use regular police.

"Ok, I'm ready! We've got some kids to rescue from the clutches of evil
(or something like that)!"

The one thing that I would suggest is that you include magma as anti to the ice i.e. make sure to give a +1 damage bonus from magma based attacks. Actually this wasn't orignally my idea on say it along time ago on somebody's page. No idea who, but I thought of it so I thought I'd suggest it.

no, someone posted a maneuver called the Bull Crusher. I probably still

Subject: Re: Vega movement.
The move was made by Kristofer Lundstrom. Of course, you kinda have to
wonder how Vega could have perfected the move on bulls since it can't be
used on grounded opponents...ever see a bull jump? hehe...anyways, here's
the maneuver.

Bull Crusher
Prerequisits: Grab ***, Athletics ****, Jump, Wallspring, Air Suplex, Suplex
Power Points: Spanish Ninjitsu 3
A dazzling move made famous by no other than Vega himself. The ninja starts
by jumping high to the nearest wall, executing a wallspring and then pounces
on his opponent from above, grabbing him and suplexing him over with a solid
and painful crunch.
Vega himself is known for knocking young bulls senseless with this
power-crunch, hence the name.
System: The attack can only be used to intercept an aerial opponent. The
Bull Crusher can NOT be used on grounded adversaries. The fighter must start
the maneuver by executing a wallspring. Apart from those small drawbacks the
Bull Crusher is a devastating technique which also inflicts a Knockdown if
it scores any damamge. The Bull Crusher is beyond any doubt a serious aerial
maneuver and can also be used to dodge.
Cost: 1 Willpower
Speed: +2
Damage: +7
Move: +0/+2

Speed: +2
Damage: +7
Move: +0/+2
