Subject: game idea
I had an idea. Just wanted to know how this would be accepted over the
list. A challenge/fight game system similar to the friendly fights being
run currently. Differences would include the ability to earn renown, xp,
and so on. This would not be an attempt to challenge what rinaldo has
done (which has awesome potential IMO) more to work along side it. In
the hopes that (in the future) a player can take thier character to
either list (which would be considered seperate "leagues" or divisions)
with complete ease.

I also have ideas on how to get more people to both lists if this
happens. Hopefully this will work. Anyways guys. Send me your honest
opinions. If you guys think it will work then I will start on the
project.

Subject: Character question
I have a couple of short questions on submitting a character.

1. Where do I send the character?

and 2. Is there any particular rank or number of points to use to
create a character that would be comparable to some of the other
friendly fighters?
Group: streetfighter Message: 4062 From: Rinaldo Gambetta Date: 11/26/1999
Subject: More five to go and start tournment
It´s close folks, I realy near to start this tourmanent I need only
more five people from the list to start this, I have 11 fighters from
persons from this list at this moment.
My idea is 16 fighters from real people (pc´s) and other 16 figthers
npc in a total of 32 fighters, now the idea of Oriental group and
Ocidental group will make sense, I make a random selectve of fighters
and a fighter from oriental group will fight with another from ocidental
group, this will finish in semi-final stage with 16 fighters at this
stage I make another random selection but now I don´t use the countries
anymore is a great group with 16 fighters and this from this group will
rest 8 fighters for semi-finals and from these 8 fighters will rest 4
and this 4 four fighters will rest two and this will be the great final
bout, and will rest one the great champion.

For one sugestion I will use 10 rounds for selective fights, 20
rounds for Semi-final fights and for the great final no time limit.
Of course I will give exp, glory, honor for pc and npc in the
tournament.
But I need more five persons.
For this people I need:

A rank 1 fighter
No merit or flaws rules
Extra backgrounds
Hybrids No
Cyborgs Maybe- I need see first
Elemental yes.

Thanks for everyone, and for the players for wait.

It´s near...

nah. the CWK isn't really potent unless it gets more than about four
hexes of hit from a point-blank activation of the maneuver. And
remember, the more damage rolls you make, the more chances you have to
botch.

do I have to post my extensive list of CWK-beating strategies again?
*sigh*...

The question isn;t the avoidability of the maneuver I think, but the
damage
it can cause when it does hit (think of what that means to a dizzed
opponent). So any time at all a victim has some space behind him he's
gonna
have to abort to another maneuver and lose willpower when the CWK
character
uses his move (and he normally will). Kinda Cheesy.

No doubt there are many ways to avoid this maneuver, but the point is that
the maneuver is simply too powerful compared to it's costs to obtain. I
simply have to agree it shouldhave been more expensive. saw it in my own
campaign, where my (ex) wife's character, a fairly new one, caused major
damage to a really powerful character with a CWK, something she clearly
should not have been able to do. She was definatly the dominant character
due to the CWK. We have also seen it in the friendly fights just recently
(of course, in this type of game there are no aborts, so that makes it
pretty tough). Anyway, I like the maneuver, but I thought it was a little
much.
In the official tournament, the maneuver will be allowed, however. It is
official, and the game will be run as such. However, characters might find
that using one maneuver over and over to defeat your enimies is not a great
idea, and they might also find that there are indeed many ways to stop a
CWK.

Yep, there are at least 3...

San He: roots the character to the ground, so they
CANNOT be moved at all...stops the CWK in it's tracks.

Ghost Form: the CWK passes right through, with no
damage (and an easy ring-out if they're at the edge of
the arena)

And the simplest CWK stopper of all: Foot
Sweep...knocks the opponent down and costs them their
action for the round.

Of course, all of these have to have a speed higher
than the CWK, but that shouldn't be to hard to do...

There's also Maka Wara, Kick Defense, Elbow Smash, Jump, Esquives,
Displacement, Head Bite, and a small ton of other maneuvers that have a
+1 or better Speed bonus, superior to the CWK's +0, which cancel an
enemy's action. Wounded Knee is always fun because CWK is a kick
maneuver. And let's not forget CWK must move in a straight line, and
pretty much costs willpower as soon as you leave your hex.

Subject: friendly fights
Gokiwa had just finished his bout with Blaise when a new fighter
appeared from the crowd. He was a man of average height and muscular
build, in a black gi. A mask covered his face, although it soon became
apparent that it wasn't a mask at all, but a mechanical reconstruction.
He spoke in a soft voice accompanied by a mechanical hiss.
"I screamed like that once. A scream that had no end. A scream from
pain that stays with me to this day. I had to cut off half my face
before the screaming could stop. I respect your resolve, but I too
have a path to follow, and you are in my way."
The stranger spun away, and his words carried across the hushed crowd.
"My name is Whisper, and if you dare you'll meet me here in an hour to
learn who is the better man."
With that, he stepped away into the crowd.

Hey Chris Hoffman, Whisper challenges Gokiwa.

Though I'm sure Rinaldo will allow us to abort to Jump or Block when we
see a Cart Wheel kick coming at us.

I think we should be allowed the option to abort on any maneuver as an
alternate strategy, especially when fighters are dishing out regular
7-point Dragon Punches. Send along in our E-mail strategy list "if
opponent does <move>, abort to <move>. That kind o' thing.

And no, I haven't forgotten. I'll try and do my fighter this evening.
*sigh* this friggin' job...

Wow. I think that's the hardest fight Gokiwa has ever fought and not
lost. (and not a single seven for damage).

Is there no end to these challenges? Let us hope not. One hour later
Whisper finds Gokiwa practicing a couple of katas designed to stretch and
loosen the muscles. Gokiwa gives you a short nod, grunts, and assums a
guard stance.

Come on, be a man. Challenge _everybody_ at once. It's the best way to
get the list.

I'm sure that Rinaldo will post a new list as soon as he get's his five
(or is it four) more players, so here's a partial list off the top of my
head:

Mr. Military - he beat me, twice, so he's always at the front of my mind
Genryu-Ka (SP?) - Cool name, really sticks with you
Danielle - She also beat me, but her day will come
Akuma - Oops, wishful thinking on my part
Whisperer - I think that's your character, but it would be cool to fight
yourself ala mirror match
Blaise - Eight Drunken Faeries Practioner
Justin Credible - I think he was banned, but I'm sure he'll accept any
challenges you give

Well, that's all from the old noggin, looking forward to battle.

The only house rule that will efffect any one in
the the SFA4GSI is the guard grush and inish

Guard crush
For one extra power point the character may buy a
guard crush combo which means if the combo hits more
times than the character has in the block technique
the hits in exces of the block are un blockable and
the +2 speed is lost after the block but any combo
bonuses still apply.

Inish
Roll a d10 and add the speed of the move to determine
who goes first if its a tie compair wits unless ita a
ranged attack like a fireball in which case they
cancle each other out.

Cliff!

Actually, Im not sure if the San he will stop the charater doing the cart
wheel. We have all seen in the street fighter games that a move such as
cartwheel seems to continue even if the person is blocking.
Try the Hurricane kick on some on and the get pushed allittle and even if
there back is against the wall the hurricane keeps going.

Actually, the laser introduced in The Perfect Warrior was agg.

You have to do more than 'twitch a finger' to hit with a bullet (or light beam).

Subject: "Friendly Fight" Twenty-five Whisper Vs Gokiwa.
Well my friends maybe the friendly fights may have their end, but this
only because the official tournament is near to start, I just need more
two
and I´m ready, for motives of work(My Brother use the computer for his
job,
sometimes I can´t check my e-mail,, right now while I make this one I
don´t check my mails yet) This bout is a interesting one.

Whisper style: Shotokan Karate player: Azathoth05@... country:
Unknown and I need known.

Appearance: A man in a black gi. He wears a metal mask and has stringy
long red hair that flows down around his shoulders. He wears a red sash
and footwear, and circuits and wires race up and down the length of his
arms.

Quote before fight: Test my strength!

Vs

Gokiwa style: Shotokan Karate player: Chris Hoffmann country: Japan

Appearance: A typical Japanese teenager in a dingy Gi. Look closer and
you'll see the vacant look in his eyes, the almost invisible grimance of
pain on his face, and how he cluches his stomach like something has been
riped from it.

Quote before fight: .....!!!

Arena: Remains of remains of Gouken dojo.

Fighters are 3 hexes from each other ring bells and fight start.

Move 1- Gokiwa move 3 hexes and make a strong punch but Whisper retreats
2 hexes and Gokiwa hits air.
Move 2- Whisper make a block for his combo and Gokiwa hit a jab punch
for his combo Whisper receives: 1 point of damage .
Move 3- Gokiwa try to make a Dragon punch for his combo but Whisper
Dragon punch is more faster and Gokiwa receives: 3 points of damage and
Gokiwa going back 1 hex (efect of Dragon punch), but it don´t stop
Gokiwa and he move 1 hex to make his Dragon punch too and Whisper
receives: 4 points of damage and going back 1 hex (efect of Dragon
punch).
Move 4- Whisper block for his combo and Gokiwa blocks.
Move 5- Gokiwa move 1 hex and make a Dragon punch but Whisper is more
faster and make his Dragon punch Gokiwa receives: 4 points of damage and
going back 1 hex but Gokiwa don´t stop and move 1 hex and make his
Dragon punch Whisper receives: 4 points of damage and Whisper going back
1 hex.
Move 6- Whisper block for his combo and Gokiwa hit a jab punch for his
combo and Whisper receives: no damage.
Move 7- Gokiwa try to make a Dragon punch but Whisper Dragon punch is
more faster and Gokiwa receives: 7 points of damage going back and falls
at ground knockdown.

Whisper wins by knockout.
Whisper winning quote: Good, The doctor was right after all, Who´s next?

Ok, here's Gokiwa's tactics: hang back and avoid the Judo Woman until she
get's knocked down (probably by Mr. Military's foot sweep) then come in
and nail her with a Dragon Punch. Then when she get's up Blaise can sneak
a jab in and that should be the fight.

Eh, Oh! You ment INDIVIDUAL challenges. Ok, Gokiwa accepts! Rinaldo,
use the last set of tactics I sent you.
