Group: streetfighter Message: 14931 From: Giovanni Date: 1/4/2004
Subject: SF game online
Hey gang!

Just wanted to let you know that I've got a SF game now online over at
http://rpol.net/

Everyone is welcome to join! The setting, character creation, Q&A
information is all there. What you have to do is go to the website and get
an account.

Once you have an account, look through the games until you find the "Anime"
link. Click on it and you'll find Street Fighter: Bay City Chronicles. Now
when you have your character ready, just click on the "request access" link
that should be either at the very top or the very bottom of your page. You
have to do this so I can grant you access to post in the game's message
board.

Even if you send your character to me via email you still have to use the
Request Access link.

If anyone needs any help just let me know!

I turn cities to salt... I even when I feel
like it rip the souls from little girls and from now till kingdom come...
the
only thing you can count on .. in your existence ...is never understanding
why."
-Gabriel from the Prophecy

PS: Per Wayne's request I sent a copy of this email to Chris just in case he
was interested in using his Kabuki again

Could be a file extension that is being talked about, to which I wouldn't even hazard a guess what type of program would use a .rpg file. Plain text perhaps?

We still have some opening in SF: Bay City Chronicles at www.rpol.net

It's more of a Gotham/Dark Knights type of game as opposed to your standard
anime/high adventure type.

Just drop a line or drop on by and check us out!

well its about time someone wrote in. i was begining to think that none
wanted to talk.
i have a curoius question, is there such thing as the graffics meaning
pictures or music being on the street fighter cd games on either playstation, 3do? i
have the super street fighter II turbo and street fighter alpha on cd but im
trying to find out if they have any pictures on them. i know theres music on
the street fighter alpha cd when you put it in a cd player but is there
anything on the super street fighter II turbo cd? or do you need a special illegal
chip for that to put in your cd writer? i have alot of pictures if anyone wants
to trade

fred chagnons page (find in my links

if you are persistent you can grab one up. look at the sick amount i

alpha sequals are each better than the last.
EX sequals are ok if you like something different and quirky, but
cant really compete gameplay wise.
sf3 versions introduce a few new gameplay features and many new
characters (few returning ones) and so some fans love em, some fans
hate em. I personally like them.

taken by themselves tho, not as part of a larger franchise, the sf3
versions are VERY solid games, some of the finest 2d fighting
available IMO, whether you like the character roster or not.

Be sure not to discount the online companies that deal with used
games! I frequest Titan Games (titangames.com), and Noble Knight
Games (nobleknightgames.com)... they may not have it in stock right
now, but they'll often point you in the direction of someone who
might. Both very good companies, been nothing but happy in my
dealings with them.

well the "street fighter versus (insert super heros here)"
series were pretty cheezy.

why dont you say exactly which games you dont like and why rather
than "everything after alpha". that way if youre going to be off-
topic you can do it in as few posts as possible.

Matt

p.s. and what sense of the word "cheazy" do you mean?

anyway, i think its strange that someone hasent put all of the sourcebooks on kazaa or online. I mean, that game is so old that i would think someone would have done it already.

Not that I know of.

BUT, you can purchase
Street Fighter - Code of Honor Collection(3 discs)
Street Fighter - Soul Powers(3 discs)

And get the entire cartoon series on DVD

A.D. Visions also brought out the MegaMan cartoon in two sets and the
Darkstalkers Cartoon in one set.

For some strange reason they call him Hakuma. There are two episodes
with him in it. One in each set.

Street Fighter - Code of Honor Collection(3 discs)

Strange Bedfellows. Guile and Bison have to team up to deal with him.

Street Fighter - Soul Powers(3 discs)

Ken, Ryu, and Gouken(Akuma's brother) are who Akuma faces in this
episode.

Well you still havent told me exactly what youre talking about. why
bring it up at all if you cannot really explain where you stand?

What version did you see a "tornado" for a background during a dragon
punch? could you possibly be instead talking about a SUPER dragon
punch? are you aware that the background changes to a humongous
explosion during supers in Alpha (the one you think is not over the
top)?

Alpha is also home of the custom combos, the most overdone and over-
the-top thing ever. and the most cartoonish graphics of the series
(while youre on the subject of cheesy graphics)

come to think of it, can you think of one SF game where the
background DOESNT change for super moves? how is this unique to
games "after sf alpha"?

I think the sf games are pretty consistent with the exception of EX
(made by another company) and 'SF vs <any super heroes>' (which had a
different engine)

+ All feature about the same type of super moves (all with changy
backgounds)
+ All feature supernatural attacks such as
fireballs/electricity/stretchy-arms/teleportation/gravity-defying
which are carried out to about the same extreme.
+ Most importantly, all feature about the same game engine with the
exception of minor tweaks.

So if youre going to keep saying "they" have "cheazy"er graphics etc.
after alpha, say what game, and what graphic please.

I would really like to know what you mean on this.

you could have explain that answer in a different way instead of being nasty
about it.
i was talking about the version after street fighter alpha 2 where i live. i
dont know the version of it because all i saw was the screen.
what i mean by cheazy is:
when ryu did the super dragon punch, i found it over dramatic when i saw the
tornado in the background as apposed to in alpha and super street fighter II
turbo when all you see is the screen turn black and then you see a shadow while
he doing the move. as far as the graffis go(as in what the character looks
like) i didnt find anything wrong with it

the bulk of my msg was explaining my oppinions on them.
is this the "nasty" part:
"I would really like to know what you mean on this."
because I was being literal there, not sarcastic.

if I was nasty in any other way its probably because you never talk
about sf:rpg.

that does sound pretty cheesy, but we still dont know what version..
im not sure if its any more or less cheesy than the screen exploding
or 3 giant meteors destroying the planet earth as in some other
versions (but thats completely subjective).

see this is why i kept asking questions. you started by saying "all
versions after alpha" were cheesy. in reality it sounds like you only
think 1 version is cheesy, and youre not even sure which version or
if it was or if it was after alpha.

sf3 is very good in my oppinion and it came out after alpha. your
comment on it didnt make sense to me but it turns out you didnt mean
to comment on it at all. now i understand you much better.

I'll publish anything that's sent to me, but I won't be writing any articles
myself until I get my hand on a copy.

Naturally, the best way to make this happen would be some kind hearted soul on
the list to send me a copy. :)

Mike brings up a good point though, The Pride was intended to be a resource for
SF:STG exclusively. With the game getting progressively harder to find, and a
new SF game comming out, should it remain so? If not, should it be extended to
all RPGs with an anime martial arts theme? How about Wuxia? Martial arts in
general?

I smell a poll.

Subject: New poll for streetfighter
Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
streetfighter group:

With Living Room Games publishing a new
SF game, and the increasing scarcity of
SF:STG books, how broad should the focus
of Warrior's Pride be?

o Living Room Games is the work of the Devil (or, if you prefer, microsoft). I will not allow the purity of The Pride to be tainted by it's infernal evil. I also cross myself whenever I fight Akuma.
o Yay! A new SF game. The Pride should support both! I just want to be loved.
o Even though it started out on a SF:STG list, The Pride needs to expand it's horizons and include all anime martial art games (DBZ, Thrash, etc). Goku rocks.
o Wuxia style games (Feng Shui, Dragonfist, Defenders of the Realm, etc) should definately be included in The Pride. What is the Matix?
o Remember Waaaaayyyy back when? When Dragon magazine would publish an article on just about any game as long as the article was intelligently written? Yeah. That's what I'm looking for. Don't call me old you whippersnapper!
