Most do. I think there are a few exceptions though

Ahh Im sorry steve but I disagree on this. Wu shu is quite acrobatic but
nowhere near the level of Gymanstics. And while it is not used in an
applicable manner, it has definate application.

No its a good question. The thing is , even if WW created it it can become
an official part of the SF universe supposedly Ive seen several
magazines that state the characters styles and such And they seem to be
consistent with what the RPG states in most cases.

HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAA

Yah hes being truthfull.
The key is this, if it works, why change it. Why do more work than
neccisary.
As far as Im concerned deflecting punch is the second best move in the game.
It was a problem I had to worry about in my games.
But Im not worried about, fully.

No Your right, It was a crow fighting a snake but when you read the
description for the style the say it is akin to Crane style kung fu.

Has anyone but me noticed my last like, 80 foot sweeps have never struck
home? I thought you get one dice of damage to roll even if someone blocks.

Subject: Re: "Friendly" Fight 32 Mr.Military Vs El Sid.
They didn't hit because you were out of range most of the time. Same with
the backflip. Maybe change your tactic to add "if opponent is out of range,
do not perform back flip maneuver" That would keep you from winding up 16
hexes away from your opponent at the end of the match. Or "if more than 4
hexes away, move into range as next action" to keep you in close. Mr.
Military seems to be a close in fighter and unfortunately just as often seems
to have opponents that keep their distance from him. Why everyone picks on
the military guy I don't know, I believe he started with a good strong
showing early on.

Subject: Re: "Friendly" Fight 32 Mr.Military Vs El Sid.
You move only 1 hex for foot sweep and not all fighters go for it or move in
your direction most part block for combo or retreat to block, and for
conclusion the foot sweep is very slow manuver and most part of fighters have
manuvers with more speed and hit you first and you pray for your stamina holds
the damage, and your foot sweep damage many people 4 and 5 in stamina I know
you need only 1 point of damage to knockdown a enemy but if the opponent is
blocking he don´t fall and I read main book and another pages where I can
found manuvers to see it.
this from your own words:
Foot Sweep *(sf 113) An attack intended to bring an opponent crashing to the
ground
Kick Maneuver
To Learn: {kick 2}. Most continue on to learn spinning foot sweep {kick 2,
athletics 1}
Power Points: shotokan karate, special forces, sumo, thai kickboxing, aikido,
baraquah, jeet kune do, ju jitsu, pankration, tai chi chaun 1, any 2
System: This is a crouching maneuver. If damage is scored, the victim of this
maneuver suffers a Knockdown, unless he was blocking.
Modifiers: cost: none, speed -2, damage +3, move -2

Actually it's something I threw at my WoD players once, I mentioned it during
an earlier discussion on this list. Usagi Yojimbo was not on my mind when I
thought of the original concept (besides, Seijuro isn't a Samurai, he's a
Ninja).

All you must do is send me notes with tactic for example:

Note

1) If my Hurricane kick is out of range don´t make and waste willpower insted
make a block
2) If my enemy dizzy make a buffalo punch
3) If my fighter is knockdown them retreat 4 hexes
4) Avoid Carthwheel kick, Tumbling attack or Dragon punch aborting my current
manuver by a retret of 6 hexes.
and you can add other notes.

it depends on who you ask.  My fiance studied Wu Shu for about twelve years in school. :)  Also, I've got a book that pretty much lumps all forms of Kung Fu under the generic term Wu Shu; it even considers Shaolin Boxing and Tai Chi as substyles of Wu Shu.  I think that these days the lines between Wu Shu and Kung Fu are pretty blurred, but I'm sure it varies as often as the practitioners themselves.

Ahh Im sorry steve but I disagree on this. Wu shu is quite acrobatic but nowhere near the level of Gymanstics. And while it is not used in an applicable manner, it has definate application. ______________________________________________________

Hey

The lines arn't that blurred. Wushu is kung fu. But as youve already stated
it used for fitness purposes. The term Wushu is used these days to
reperesent what you see in the tournaments for competition as well.
So any time you seen Wu shu, it is kung fu.
Youll find there are a set of forms for wushu, A sum of basic forms that
people know, then theres The compulsorys Nan Chuan(Southern Fist)
and Chang Chuan(Northern Fist). The Same goes for weapon styles
Such as Nan dao (Sothern broadsword). Later such things as monkey and
drunken or easgle claw are taught, depending on the school.

The main saying about modern Wu Shu practitioners by traditional stylists is
"Yes It looks good, but who would win in a real fight."
and a modern wushuist knows he wouldnt.

China is now lately coming out with new basic and advanced forms for Wushu.

Ask your fiance. ;)
