Ah, therein lies the problem. When I bought the game, the manual was
missing. All it had was the front cover. Didnt realise that until I got
home though. Wheres the desktop theme?

Thanks

I think we are discussing relative chessiness of comparative "reality
rules". Streetfighter is unrealistic, yet tries to maintain a realistic
outlook from the perspective that the world it describes could exist. I
think dragonball Z doesn't even try to rationalize it's "reality", and
simply goes to the farthest extremes possible. Fun, no doubt, but when
compared to Street Fighter, cheesy.
However, I considered Street Fighter very cheesy until recent years, when
it became a little more serious and storylines started to develop, with
movies and a role-play game. Perhaps DZ is moving in this direction. If so,
I'll be on the bandwagon.

Oh geez, here we go....

I think the first amendment does not include visual images, words, or
actions that are of an OBVIOUS pornographic nature - especially when dealing
with subject matter that could be considered aimed at children. The image of
the succubus licking a white substance from her finger, without a glass of
milk or ice cream cone within view, should have not been allowed to be
published. I hate to agree with the Man on this one.

Wow! You've had some experience! Cost depends on the school I think. My dojo
only charges about 25 bucks a month. My sensei worked in Japan and lived in
Master Nakiyama's Dojo for two years. He really doesn't care about the
money, as long as we train hard. (I once went for six months without paying,
I was told not to worry about it, they just didn't want me to give up.)

I've heard about some schools that promise your blackbelt in six months if
you pay 100 bucks extra. It's no wonder why some people don't think martial
arts are effective.

I think it's important to shop around, try all the dojo's you can, until you
find a good one that you can afford.

Well, I dont have a lot of experience, probably about 3 years worth and that
was over three years ago now. I know what you mean about the black belt
thing. I saw a fight between a green belt and a black belt. The green belt
beat him so bad. This wasnt a street fight, it was just a sparring session.
The place I took it was only interested in money. Once the first of the
month came around and you hadnt paid yet, they would come talk to you. That
was one of the reasons I left. The problem here though is there is a
JuJitsu school, and 5 Tae Kwon Do schools. I never really got into those
styles so, Im kinda left out in the cold.

I've taken about a year's worth of fencing. I started with watches and
gradually worked my way up to car sterios. I hope to eventually move up
to grand theft auto.

Er, um...disregard that above. I've taken about a year's worth of fencing
with foil. I like it, and eventually we may move on to some Kendo.

I also practice with nunchaku (after you develope calouses, it doesn't
hurt so much.)

Wow, I never realized how lucky I was. I don't pay during spring-fall
seasons because it's taking place on my land. During winter it's only 2
bucks a session.

Do you use super rules? Would you like to? What kind of supers?
----

Please select one or more of the following:

o None. Supers were the downfall of the Street Fighter Series. Alpha sucked and don't get me started on the EX series.
o The ones from Super Turbo, just this side of impossible to pull of and nigh useless unless you're up the opponent's nose (it helps if he's comatose too).
o Street Fighter Alpha One (Standard) 3 bars with each super using up one to three bars as chosen by the player.
o Street Figher Alpha One (Beginner) 1 damned bar, no instant hell murder, and auto blocks. In fact to hell with supers, I want auto-block rules.
o Custom Combos (SFA 2) are the best because you can make Dhalsim (Is he Hindu? Is he Buddist? Only his wife knows for sure.) do a forty hit custom combo in SFA 3.
o No Supers, but I do use fatalities, the bloodier the better. No Friendships, no stupid Babalities, just bloody carnage and the occasional Animality. Blood, that's what it's all about.
o Fatal Fury Style, no supers, but desparations abound.
o Bloody Roar Style, find your Animality. Get in touch with your brutal killing side.

I know what you mean about not being into certain styles, I tried some Tae
kwan do, and while it was rather similar to karate, it had enough flashy,
but not very effective, differences to turn me off. Don't get me wrong, it
might have been just that particular school. But you know, I did learn a
couple of new kicks, so it wasn't all bad.
The interesting thing I learned at TKD was the fact that traditional TKD has
no grabs! No throws! of any sort! This class taught some judo to make up for
this deficiency. A friend of mine who's been there fore quite some time
said; "Before the judo was introduced, if someone grabbed me I wouldn't have
known what to do." The above mentioned school has also introduced some
boxing to increase the efficiency of it's punching.

Of course a succubus why didn't I think of that(sarcasm).... (looks toward

Perhaps a little too much for some people though...yes?...no?
My real point seems to get lost easily here. OK, I just found it interesting
that these not so subtle sexual overtones are in a Video Game manual that
can be bought and viewed by anyone and it hasn't been censored in some way.

Being a designer, I try to keep my eyes open for that sort of thing, sex in
advertising ...and the like. I found it interesting, and I wondered if
anyone else noticed it....Just another little fact for Video Game lore.

you want overt sexual overtones, watch Fatal Fury: the motion picture.  Mai.  Jiggle city.  Shots from the butt-cam.  You name it, she did it.

Of course, Chun Li wound up in the shower, but who's complaining?  not me...

Well, SF2 always did have that peek at Chun Li's panties when she got knocked
out. Not to mention Mai Shiranui. I am guessing that the Japanese are a
little more open about sexual matters (well, maybe not more open, but more
accepting). I am also guessing most video game players are young males, and
nothing sells to young males like not so subtle sexual overtones. Look at
all those old pulp scifi covers with nubile scantily clad women being
threatened by monsters.

Yeah, I would love that. I havent figured out how to get the hidden
costumes yet.

When I bought the game, the manual was missing. All it had was the front cover. Didnt realise that until I got home though. Wheres the desktop theme?
* argh... memory... failing... there's some mega desktop theme site I got it from. do a search
on Yahoo or something... Tecmo's page may have it too.
The histories aren't that interesting. Kasumi's a ninja, Lei Fang a college student, Jann Lee a bodyguard,
Bayman a hitman, etc. nothing stunning.

Bayman is, IMHO, the finest grappling character in any fighting game, ever.

Of course a succubus why didn't I think of that(sarcasm).... (looks toward
his plethora of occult books and sighs) .....

Supposedly it was just (according to an old GamePro) a secret. In the
Japanese version one learned his name (Ken) near the end, as he had amnesia
for the early portions of it (due to the disease). The 'disease' was a
mutagenic disease that imbued it's infectees with additional power, but
would eventually kill them. (That was the source of the monsters he fought
earlier.) >>

Kwan Do for a while. J. Y. Song's TKD. he was an 8th degree BB, very good,
nice, but also Strict. I only made green belt, but the one tournament I
entered as yellow belt, I made 1st place. Trained EVER so briefly in Muay
Thai. From a Malayan teacher, kinda watered down, hybrid with Western KB.
However I got some STRIGHT Muay Thai Experience when I went to Bangkok I got
to sit in for several sessions of THAI KB. It's harsh, but I gotta love it.
Heck, I doubt that my body would let me get back into martial arts any more.
Right now I can only standing kick about 6' 10" and Jump kick around 7' 2".

Sure, I've had my own experiences with the martial arts. Spent two years on

really damn good), a few years with various styles of Karate (one in a sort
of Isshin-Ryu style, the other was formal Shotokan for two and a half
years...made high purple. I was pretty proud of that) some months in
Kickboxing, and I'm dating a girl who studies Gung Fu. Cool.
Unfortunately, every time we meet, she wants to spar and it's a pretty close
match every time. Oh, well. Hee. I really don't mind the sparring.

Well, as far as the amrtial arts go, I've had a very eclectic experience.

My formal training comes in the form of Tai CHi Ch'uan, Northern Shaolin
Long Fist Boxing, and some Tae Kwon Do.

As far as informal training, I've learned various techniques from Muay Thai,
Judo, Jujutsu, Aikido, Ninjutsu, a smattering of Savate, and I've been known
to dabble in Capoeira.

I'm a bit of a martial arts scholar, more so than a practitioner. I am at
least passingly aware of the many and diverse fighting styles, even many of
the obscure esoteric ones from the unlikliest places; like Egypt,
Czechoslovakia, and Iceland.

One thing I want figure out, the main book of STF explain about the options
for a tournament and where he can be stay. The game are doubt to me because in
the video game series people with hand guns (Eagle, Rolento, Vega, Hayate)
using weapons, they win receive less honor and if the game is fight with hands,
they are at right place? Because guys with weapons only in duelists
tournaments?

I play Werewolf, Vampire and Mage- Werewolf and mages have an martial
styles from his own- The Garou have their Kalindo (I don´t know if the word
writen is right) and Mages have Do- If both are some kind of martial art why
this don´t have a conversion for STF rules?

Vampires got one in WoD Combat as well, but the reason that none of them
appear is because they heavily require the addition of the mechanics that
are very specificly geared toward the system they appear in.

(IE, Kailindo requires shapeshifting, Do is mainly a focus for Rotes that
already resemble SF Maneuvers.)

While true that you lose honor for fighting against unarmed oponents, with
weapons, that doesn't me that you can't.

Vega has ZERO honor, and i tend to doubt that the otheres are excatly HIGH
in that department.

However, you dont' have to be in duelist only tournaments.
There are Duelist, Traditional, and Freestyle tournies.....
however there are also MIXED tournis. Anyone can enter these <think it's in
the players guide.>

The WW trouni is mixed.

Well, for one thing, Do is a bit powerful. Let's see what would Do's
advantages be: access to all maneuvers ala JKD, and doing health levels
instead of dice of damage. Ouch!
Of course, I could see certain Street Fighters with it: Dhalsim, Akuma,
and Oro spring to mind.
As for Kalindo, Street fighters doesn't even have werewolves, so
shapeshifting maneuvers would be of little use. They would require more give
than even Twelve has.

Sure thing, but if build the style how much chi and willpower are good? Or
the chi and willpower are "normal" from W.O.D books?

According to my sources on the west coast, yes. I haven't actually
seen it yet, but they tend to be very reliable.

Ever try to do _anything_ even remotely resembling HTML with Word97? My
god, It would have looked better if I wrote my page in crayon (sea green)
on the screen.

That's _one_ of my gripes about Microsoft.
