Yeah, you can use it against adjacent opponents and don't need to
enter their hex to execute the grab.

Its probably the most powerful grab maneuver in the game, since the +3
Strength modifier to sustain the hold almost guarantees that you can
follow it up with a power combo:

Widowmaker to Turbo Spinning Clothesline (dizzy)
- though as a Sanbo stylist you probably won't have Imp Pin.

Thigh Press to Suplex (dizzy)
- much easier to acquire as a Wrestler. Sub in Hair Throw if you
want.

I Am truly excited to here about the possibility of a new online
tourny. And I await the invite and rules set up. My streetfighter
campaign ended recently and ended well but the problem with running is
you dont get the fun of your own fights, with your own fighter.

So if tis going to be on just tell me when and where.

I need a trust-worthy person to act as an admin for my site.World
Warriors Online.it is in dire need of someone to do some world building
and the like. I have a simple to use interface that does all the work.no
coding is necessary, but a knowledge of the SF:STG is a must. Let me
know if you are interested. In the near future, if my work schedule
allows I will be re-implementing the Player vs. Player and redoing the
NPC combat (mainly an AI update), Hopefully things will die down enough
next week to allow these to happen.

Subject: Re: Improved Pin
I looked at improved pin again and yes it is worded so you can grab
some one with out being in their hex, but do you think that that was
what they MEANT to say? I had always assumed that it just meant
that the improvement that was intended was that it worked without
dizzying or knocking down your opponent. The way a flaming dragon
punch double taps an opponent who starts off next to you I had
assumed that they meant the Improved pin could only get the works on
opponents that normal pin wouldn't on was if your oppnent was next
to you when you started the move since I think they said for FDP
that it worked if you didn't have to move reach your opponent, and
for all grabs you usually have to move to grab them tht would be bad
wording for the move... I guess it's pointless to ask if their was
ever errata on the move or if they were going to errata it since
it's only about a decade after the fact, huh? lol

no one else from the old tourney is still around to pick up where we

Does anyone have the pic referenced below?
It has dissappeared from the whole world and the original artist
would like a copy of it if anyone has it saved.

I love that pic, and I appreciate the effort.
Totally not the one I was talking about though, lol.

This one was a black and white sketch and I think she was wearing
glasses and no pants.

Thanks for replying though!
maybe you've got that one too since you save everything!

a file has been uploaded to the Files area of the streetfighter

File : /Reference Section/Street Fighter RPG - styles and maneuvers (modified).zip
Uploaded by : mean_liar <mean_liar@...>
Description : This .zip file contains every official SF:STG Style and Maneuver, as well as several new maneuvers. These new maneuvers have been designed to add to the repitoire and capabilities of the 'weak' styles to make them more competitive, or add in notable moves from Capcom fighting games (SFA3 and Capcom vs SNK notably). The Maneuvers are listed by Technique; the Style doc lists costs for all available maneuvers per Style, both official and new.

In addition to the .zip file with the complete original Maneuvers and
Styles, I uploaded a .zip file with a ton of new maneuvers.

These new maneuvers are mostly intended to add some capabilities to
the 'weaker' styles, notably Aikido, Baraqah, Sumo, and Tai Chi, and
to a lesser extent Capoeira and Savate (which I really couldn't find
enough inspiration to do anything with). There are also new maneuvers
from Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom vs SNK, which add to the
stronger styles (not that they needed it).

Any comments would be welcome.

Subject: Re: new file upload
Playing other games. :)

I was working a contract for a few years and never really could
convince my group out there to give SF a try for their RPG fix. Their
loss.

Now that I'm settled with the contract over and back in Edmonton, one
of the first things I did was set up a SF campaign. And with that
came a desire to even out some of the styles, since it was all-too-
obvious that there were too many 2nd and 3rd rate styles that no
minmaxer would ever choose to saddle themselves with (my home group is
a bunch of unrepentant minmaxing roleplayers).

Other than that, I'm busy being unemployed since I'm waiting for
immigration papers to come in. Oh yeah - got married. ;P The girl's
perfect and doesn't mind the amount of time I spend at the kung fu
school (or should that be IS perfect because she doesn't mind how much
time I spend there). With nothing to do all day I've been able to
work a lot on gaming stuff (like the SF files) in addition to
training. I'm going to be a little sad when my papers finally come in.

The SF campaign I'm currently running is mostly to pass the time while
I put some finishing touches on my DnD fantasy setting (my group is
really clamouring for that), but I love SF so much and so do they that
I imagine that the game could easily run another 6-8 months, maybe
longer. In the meantime, I've got a few SF projects that I'd like to
attempt (though I know that I'll never finish them all, or maybe even
one):

weapon Maneuvers and Styles
- this came up because some of the bad guy bosses my players fight
out of the tournaments are real headaches for them, so one of the
players is going to get 4-5 slots in his Sword technique and carry a
Broadsword. So I figure if he's going to spend the XP on it I should
at least give him some maneuvers to use other than 'Fierce'.

NPC database
- I want this to be a small, tight listing. When I make NPCs for
tournaments, I'll usually only generate physical stats (and mental if
they use Focus), techniques, health, WP, Chi, maneuvers and combos.
The idea with this would be to have a compact listing of generic
fighters to flesh out a tourney with that don't really require too
much thought. So far I've kept all the NPCs that have shown up in the
game. One thing that occurs to me is that I never use the NPCs of
other folks when they post them, so maybe this is a waste of time. :P

That should hit all the interesting parts. :)

Dude, uncanny parallels.

In the past yr I just moved and got married too.

My new town has a way better brazilian jiu jitsu school than my old
town (new: www.grbjj.com) So I'm spending a lot more time doing that
now, which my wife doesnt mind. (I just got 3rd at gracie nationals
w00t!1 http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/4440/medal26fa.jpg)

The new place tho I can't get this stupid group I ended up in
interested in street fighter.

and I have just started a bunch new SF projects too. Learning PHP
and Mysql now so most of them are dealing with interactivity and
databases:

-Forum that automates playing online. Hello funtimes for us all!

-character/move/style database anyone can contribute to.

Maybe we could work together on the NPC database?

If anyone remembers, I did write CHAMPS, a system for
making new Maneuvers and leveling out the maneuvers to
make them all game balancing. That same work has a
system for creating unique and game-balanced styles
and backgrounds. I have offered to post any Maneuvers
made with this system on that web site.
The really cool part of CHAMPS is that no one has to
agree with the Maneuver you create - they can create a
version of their own, just like in real life. There
could be many different Military Training styles, for
example, some of which would have unique versions of
Foot Sweep.
Just a thought, and it might be a help to your job
of balancing the game a little.

Oh, thank god. I love the idea of CHAMPS (have a copy sitting in my
SF folder), but running the math was annoying enough to me that I
didn't bother using it.

My other critique of CHAMPS is that it creates balanced maneuvers -
part of why I like SF is that the styles each have a unique flavor,
and the best way to maintain that is with a degree of unbalance.

Some styles get Hyperfist, some get Hundered Hand Slap - and that
sort of unbalance is fine by me, since of the styles that get
Hundered Hand Slap...

Kung Fu gets the Pin/Imp Pin series on the cheap
Sumo (with my modifications) gets a lot of varying speed knockdown
maneuvers

...and so on. Its possible that I'm speaking from ignorance though.

I basically decided that creating maneuvers and then looking at them
holistically was easier and accomplished the same thing. That said,
CHAMPS was where I started looking first.

Not at all, that would be awesome. It might even find mistakes I
made when adding up costs, and bring up discussion of what might
need to be changed, if anything.

That is still possible with CHAMPS - see the Syles section. Certain
styles would get Maneuvers are cheaper costs. Learning Maneuvers
outside your Style is possible in CHAMPS, but would be rare if your
playing your NPC masters they way they should be - it would be
exceedingly hard to convince a master to train you in his most
guarded secrets (i.e., hundred hand slap) without training with him
for years. Good masters would not want the maneuver to fall into the
wrong hands, and evil ones would consider each person that knew it a
possible risk...

Hello,

This email message is a notification to let you know that
a file has been uploaded to the Files area of the streetfighter
group.

Subject: NPC database
Hey folks --

Just added a file with bare-bones NPC descriptions. Basically, stats
and maneuvers - everything you'd need for combat. Personalities and
abilities can be added as needed for specific games, but I usually try
to come up with an evocative name so that the personality is easy
enough to generate.

You can email me any NPCs that you'd like added to the database,
though thats not any kind of assurance that I actually will. :P

I've updated the Files/Reference Section/Maneuvers (consolidated).zip
file and uploaded the new version.

I fixed some omissions (Eye Rake wasn't there for some reason), made a
few changes based on some play testing, put the Animal Hybrid moves in
their correct category (the Style sheet had them mis-listed for some
reason) and cleaned up some bad formatting.

Enjoy!

I have the DVD. Aside from the cool fighting scenes from the munk and
other scenes, I felt that the movie was kind of disapointing on how
gouki's path began and how the movie ended which i was a little confused
about. Did gouki go good because Ryu beat him, or did he still stay on
his evil path?

has the item for about $11. It was great to finally hear
the uncensored film with the original language track and
the original score, not the censored film with a top-40s
soundtrack that the distributor picked to replace it.

The subtitles were fine; they weren't the "engrish" you
sometimes see on dvds from China.

What I took away from the movie was that the Dark Hadou was cured by
Ryu but unfortunately Ryu found that Gouki was essentially evil even
without the corrupting influence of the Dark Side of the Force.

I can't understand how Sakura got to be so popular she got her own
