Well....

Living Legends - famous literary/mythical characters for your SF game, with a
short synopsis of their literary role, and how they could fit in the World of
Street Fighter.
Example: Think of Captain Nemo as the deposed true prince of Mirganka
waging a private war on Shadowlaw from his amazing submarine.

The B.A.I. Files - In "Fortunes of War", the supernatural is policed by the
Bureau of Arcane Investigation. Their mandate is to protect "the Untouched"
from hostile suernatural beings ("Touched"), while protecting "the Touched"
themselves from mortal fear and paranoia. "The B.A.I. Files" would be a look at
supernatural menaces and PCs for any SF game, as well as a look at the 'Men in
Black' in "Fortunes of War". If I, personally, like the article, it could
become cannon in my stories. (I can do a basic run-down of the things BAI runs
into; but it would take a long time. If someones wants to do a BAI File on,
say, werebeasts, ghosts, or vampires, just send me a line.)

The Kraken Files - Details on Shadowlaw operatives and operations, followed
by an In-Character printout for PCs to find.

World Circuits - Details on local Street Fighting organizations, their
arenas, contenders, support... and champions. Nice little articles to put the
Street Fighters back in the streets.

Backers - Movers and shakers in the SF world; and they want to recruit YOUR
character! The only thing they all have in common is that they're appropriate
for PCs to take as Backers. Each would have an appropriate background point
cost.

Ninja Madness! - Ninja NPCs for every occasion. For Storytellers who have go
nuts for ninjas (there could also be one for robots).

Mad Science - An article about Mad Science as a Style (or technique) with
rules for making new gadgets.

Demolition Derby - Rules for vehicle combat.

Aside from that, there's always NPCs, new Styles (Vaudville, Stage Magic,
Bearzerk, Aboriginal Shamanism....), new Creatures (lions and tigers and bears,
oh my!), new toys for Gadget Corner, new Arenas....

Does anyone want to try writing these?

> Because wasting ammo is imoral.

Of course it is.

I'm working on a area book for Metro city, based on my online
campaign and the Final Fight series.

But I'm a bit too lazy as of yet. Maybe after I'm finished with this
work somtime in September.

I seem to remember someone mention a Final Fight sourcebook for a SF
games that came out only in Brazil or something.
If you're still here, I would LOVE to see a translation of that book
if it's possible.

What do you tell a fighter who has sworn off fighting and beats
themself up over an incedent that happened in the ring, where the
other fighter was killed or severely brain-damaged, and basiclaly
their life is ruined.

I met someone online like that, and they blame themself heavily.

I pointed out that the ref should have stopped the fight (it was
boxing) or the other corner should have thrown in the towel, but they
maintain that they should have backed off when they saw how bad they
were hurting the other person. but they wanted to win, so they are
some kind of monster, yadda yadda yadda.

is there no getting through to someone like this? is it one of those
situations where they are just going to blame themself until THEY are
ready to stop? what do you say to make someone feel better about a
thing like that?

interesting enough concept for a character, just a tragedy this
really happened. the parents of the other fighter confronted the
winner in their gym and basically hoped the same thing would happen
to them. said they hated em. and the media of course blew it up
because "monsters" sell papers.

I feel like this person did nothing wrong. in boxing the object is to
pummel the other opponent, and anyone who steps in the ring knows
they could receive heavy brain damage and only wake up 2 weeks later.

they say they saw em bleding from the ears (which only happens when
somethings seriously wrong) but kept on because it was a higher
ranked fighter and they didnt want a draw, they wanted to win. but
thats the mentality athletes have to train with isnt it, to win? how
can you pummell someone while being concerned you might hurt them?
thats why there is a ref to stop the fight, and id like to know what
the hell he was thinking. but everyone wanted to point the finger at
someone and it wasnt the ref. no one blames the ref, which i think is
just psycho.

Problem could have been with the other fighter. He may have known
he had a severe problem or illness, yet continued to fight. It
has happened before IRL. The dead guy is more to fault than
anybody else, not telling people he had a condition.

There is a very similar character in The Perfect Warrior. Don't have the book
in front of me so I can't tell you who (the wrestler), but it had the most
intense backstory of any character in the WW published books.

There was a crack.

Then there was silence.

In my experience, logic is an ineffective weapon against self-loathing. Either
he'll deal with it on his own (or with trained professionals and drugs) or he
won't. There's very little you can do to help except be there as a friend when
he needs one.

If he's still boxing (unless he quit over that incident), I think that's a good
sign.

I would think if you withdraw due to injuries that would be a forfeit, not a
draw. Of course, it wouldn't be a KO...

If there was blood coming out of the ears (and if the opponent doesn't get
bloody ears like some people get bloody noses) then yeah, the ref gets to
shoulder his share of the responsibility.

Check me on this though, isn't the final decision to withdraw, for whatever
reason, ultimately the boxer's? Not a big boxing fan, I'm afraid.

Neat. Someone's been watching League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. (The book
was better, but the movie was not a disapointment.) Looking forward to seeing
Doc Savage and The Shadow.

You know, now that I think of it, we haven't seen _any_ fan writeups for
characters in The Pride. No Batman. No Bond (Campion or James). No Lady
Shiva. No Bulletproof Monk. No Samuree. No Batman. No Green Arrow (Oliver or
Connor). No Kyo Kusanagi. No Deathblow. Not even writeups for the post SFT
characters. And no Batman. Only original characters.

What a crime.

Me thinks I can work up a couple of Kracken Files for The Pride. The only real
question would be, how dark should I make them. I don't think it's beyond the
bounds of reason to have Shadolaw running Snuff Stuios or being heavily
involved in the child slave trade, but would it be beyond the bounds of taste?

will only spar now.
they started boxing pretty young because they grew up in an abusive
household.

the incedent happened at a pretty early age, and now they just spar
and train, no real matches. just stay in practice to have it as self
defense, the original intent getting into it.

no more 'real' matches

no i mean, if they started easing up and going easy instead of laying
into them it might have been a draw.

a lot of ppl.
the boxer can withdraw, but their corner can also throw in the towel
(hence the expression), and the ref can also stop a fight.
this is because ppl getting beaned about the head arent necessarily
known for their good decision making skills at that time.

thats what i really dont get about everyone pointing the finger like
they did.

Im trying to find an article or something about it online for more
details.

I am really sorry to hear that. Here are my thoughts on the matter.

1. Your friend should not blame himself and neither should anyone else.
He is a 'fighter'. The point of boxing is to knock the other guy out!

2. The ref should have called the fight. No ifs, ands or buts. Refs
have stopped fights for cuts over the eye. They definitely stopped it if
someone was bleeding from the ears.

3. Why would he hold back? When you are in the ring you got a job to
do. You focus on that job. I dont think any boxers really go out and try
to kill or brain damage anyone. They trust the corner people and the
ref to stop the match if something goes wrong.

I truly feel sorry for your friend, but I do believe that he will blame
himself no matter what anyone tells him. I also feel sorry for his
opponent and his family. Im sure having that happen to their child was
tramatic, and they lashed out at the easiest scapegoat.

What do you tell a fighter who has sworn off fighting and beats
themself up over an incedent that happened in the ring, where the
other fighter was killed or severely brain-damaged, and basiclaly
their life is ruined.

I met someone online like that, and they blame themself heavily.

I pointed out that the ref should have stopped the fight (it was
boxing) or the other corner should have thrown in the towel, but they
maintain that they should have backed off when they saw how bad they
were hurting the other person. but they wanted to win, so they are
some kind of monster, yadda yadda yadda.

is there no getting through to someone like this? is it one of those

interesting enough concept for a character, just a tragedy this
really happened. the parents of the other fighter confronted the
winner in their gym and basically hoped the same thing would happen
to them. said they hated em. and the media of course blew it up
because "monsters" sell papers.

I feel like this person did nothing wrong. in boxing the object is to
pummel the other opponent, and anyone who steps in the ring knows
they could receive heavy brain damage and only wake up 2 weeks later.

they say they saw em bleding from the ears (which only happens when
somethings seriously wrong) but kept on because it was a higher
ranked fighter and they didnt want a draw, they wanted to win. but

thats why there is a ref to stop the fight, and id like to know what
the hell he was thinking. but everyone wanted to point the finger at
someone and it wasnt the ref. no one blames the ref, which i think is
just psycho.

Someone did write up a Batman for Street Fighter a while back, and it led to
a heck of a lot of debate and arguing. Best to leave those characters alone.

However, for those interested, see if you can find "Gotham Knights", it is a
free fan created expansion to White Wolf's Adventure game and focuses on

Just do a search online.

A couple of things.

For those of you interested check out www.streetfightercomic.com

For that Adventure!/Gotham Knights thing, I did look online and can't
find it. You dont happen to know the url do you? Adventure! is my second
favourite White Wolf game. (Street Fighter being the first)

I picked up a bunch of Ninja Heroclix figures from the Marvel Heroclix
game. They work really good as minatures when doing combat. Better than
using dice to represent your character.

Im starting to feel the Street Fighter bug again and think I may start
working on a new campaign.

Is anyone currently running Street Fighter? How is that going?

Take total number of matches, divide by losses to the third

Er... No. I'm afraid that won't work. What about poor Ryu with his zero
losses. Instead: Take the wins, divide by the total # of matches and take it
to three decimal places. That'll give Ryu the 1.000 he deserves.

Nope, just an independant vampire. A vampire who will be sending out Docs

Haven't seen it yet, actually. I just like the idea of bringing in the
classic characters.

Okay... could someone do a conversion of Batman?

That's a point - what classic/comic book characters would every like to see,
and who's willing to do it?

Shadowlaw isn't a factor in Fortunes; and BAI isn't quite as well-off as FIB.
BAI actually spends most of its time diffusing 'potential threats'; like
staking out suspected 'Spontaneous Risers'.

Which makes it prime territory for Articles. Hint, hint.

Sort of. I'll see if I can articulate the idea better. Each local
'division' would count for little (if anything) away from it's territory.

Well, I'M probably a bad judge (Fortunes isn't exactly rated "G"); but there
is a line between adult evil and purile carp. 'Freak Legion' disgusted me;
and I don't think we need the 'Book of Vile Darkness' for SF. On the other
hand, Shadowlaw is EVIL; and sanitizing it would probably only work for a couple
of articles.

So, I'm not sure how 'evil' is 'too evil'. And I can't judge the comfort
level of the whole List.

Comic characters I would like to see?

Batman
Daredevil
Bullseye
Elektra
Robin
Nightwing
Oracle
Huntress
Iron Fist
Shang Chi
Black Cat
and Rick Jones because everyone needs a side-kick.

Thats just off the top of my head. I can think of more.

Didn't you know? As soon as you run out of sanity points, you become the
Warrior's Pride Editor.

See it. Somewhat predictable, but enjoyable nevertheless.

That's pretty much the focus of the FIB in Faans.

It's a play on Sweettooth's opening monolog in Twisted Metal Black. "Six
months in the nuthouse, is the longest I've ever been locked up."

I'd probably rate her at 9 or 10 in White Wolf, but that's
just me. Check out

http://natsci.eckerd.edu/~smithcj/ha_three.pdf , one of the
files located at my site. I recommend that you consult the
sections on "multipool". I think you could simulate Washu's
capabilities by giving her 1 gadget pool with variable
effects. You wouldn't need to convert that much to make it
usable under White Wolf rules, and I already have
conversion notes available:

It could also work for sorcerors. I'd love to make up stats
for the Black Rose Society from Utena, as they could
distort, confuse, and control the various characters in
campaigns.

Anything will get published, as long as it has even a vague connection to
street fighter. I mean, Fortunes of War doesn't exactly scream Shoryuken.
Stories, Rules, Art, anything.

Hello. I've been lurking a bit and reading what's here. Gathering
up files to create an unofficial supplement. Starting first with the
Ranma 1/2 RPG-fan supplement that I accquired long ago.

Now I have to get all the characters fans have done up. ^_^

Print them out and bind them.

If you want a character that would be a pain to write up in Street
Fighter, Rom Stol from Machine Robo. The Sky, Space, and Heart Fist
school of Martial Arts has a LOT of techniques in it.

I'll try to scrape something together for the Pride.

Ah it's a long involved seven step process, no wait, that's how to unsubscribe
from the SFSTG list.

Actually, all you need to do is send it to sfstg@...

Yep, that's all there is to it.

I've got a character name generator over at my site:

Just click the button until you are satisfied, then pick
two of the three names.

Not sure if there is a bad cheat or bad bug on your P vs P part

Someone called Violence made his health go from 70 to 154 and his Chi went
up as well. Yet he has had no fights. Sounds dodgy?

Any one know what happended?

You were my first one. Then you called me a cheater. I feel so used. (Hey,
that's a haiku).

Hit the submit button. Exercising your index finger does wonders for your
health. Didn't notice the Chi, but I don't use chi so it could have slipped by
me. How high did I get?

Yes I am Violence, even though I am peaceful like flower.

Incidently, there is a forum for reporting bugs, general trash talking, and for
giving Michael more work. There's a link on the side bar.
