Ah yes, the Denzel Kincaid theorem:
"Be carefull when fighting schmucks, lest ye be beat by one"

In my group the dorkier an NPC is the more terrified we are to fight
him. Because damn, no one wants to get beat by a dork.

"It's denzel, it'll be a piece of cake! wait a minute, oh god what if
i lose! do I really wanna be the first person to get beat by denzel!"

I guess what i'm trying to say is I wish there were no NPCs in the
tournament. This is to pit our characters against each other, not
some schmuck.

I'm wondering pittman, when you asked them if you could post their
books somewhere did you sign your name like you did down there?
as "game designer for EPICS games"?

I would have said no too:)

Why did anyone ask them, we should have just done it.

Does anyone honestly think:
A) They would find it, what are the chances?
B) They have nothing better to do. I think their legal department is
probably busy with werewolf, mage, vampire, wraith, and changeling
(you know, popular games) to worry about streetfighter (the good one)

besides they dont just come burn your house down, they would warn
someone first before sueing and youd have a chance to remove it.

LOL No, I did not associate myself as a game designer. As a matter of fact, i told them I was part of a mailing list with around 200 members that were all big WW fans. They basicly told me (and so all of us) to get lost.
Now, they said they could not give us permission... they never said that they denied us permission. Seems like if they can't give us permission, they can't deny us permission, either... hmmmm...
Okay, seriously, the work is copyrighted and the company can't give permission to reprint the matrial in any form because it has the Street Fighter logo and pics in it.
But what the heck. Call me a rebel, but one that wants to go down in flames with others. If you guys want to make online handbooks, I'm all for it. As long as nobody will snitch! Hehe.
I really don't think WW would sue or anything. Heck, they don't really claim the game at all, and probably would not care if the game was reprinted in file form. I have seen several easy-to-find sites that list all the vampire material for first and second editions online!

have you forgotten that the Street Fighter rules (sans Street
Fighter-related content) HAS already been reprinted? It's called "World of

your arrangements, folks. They're not doing it to be pricks.

Well Khurnawian isn´t near to attack you and must move to enter in a close combat Mr.Military in your pattern say to wait the guy enter in the range using block.
In move 2 Khurnawian enter in your range and you hit him using backflip kick and going back 2 hexes like manuver description, I forget to say move 2 hexes back, I think everybody known Backflip description and make this litle mistake of words.

Move 1- Khurnawian don´t move and make a Roundhouse Kick but miss because Mr.Miliary block.

Okay, How many hexes are we starting out between us? Seems like Khurn would have missed because there were hexes between us if neither of us moved. Or do we begin side by side?

Move 2- Mr. Military move 2 hexes and make a Backflip Kick and Khurnawian is more faster and wait Mr.Military action and after he move 4 hexes ahead to stay close.

Do you mean Mr. Military moved backwards two hexes? if I remember correctly the Maneuver can only allow me to move backwards two hexes.

As far as I can tell, there would not have been much diffrence in the fight's outcome, just pointing things out as I see them. Of course I am fine with the win, and I do not demand a remattch (I'm a humble guy that way).

Not to mention the fact that the core rules (character creation, maturation,
dice and all that crap) are still something that makes all the game lines
money in the form of the core books. Reprinting Street Fighter and giving it
away doesn't only devalue the future possibility of rereleasing it (which is
highly unlikely), but also the aforementioned WoD: Combat, Vampire: the
Masquarade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Hunter: the Reckoning, and Mage: the
Ascension, and Changeling: the Dreaming (I think Wraith went under). So much
for discarding the rules, the only thing you're missing is Techniques. (WtA
even covers Renown).

Unfortunately, I think the people involved in SF:tRPG have all moved on, and
for every question they get about Street Fighter, I can guarauntee that
their ~active~ games get more by a very large multiplier. Now granted, a
couple of WW staff are pricks (and/or drunkards), but most are just trying
to make a living. (Not get rich mind you, that spot was taken by the guys
who's name's went on Ars Magica 1st Ed and Vampire 1st Edition, anyone they
have now is just an employee regardless of job title).

Roleplaying games (as much as roleplayers hate to admit) are a niche market.
There is a finite amount of dollars to be gained, and WW may not be the
'garage gaming' source it was when it started, it'd be all to easy to wind
up back there (Ref: FASA)

Putting a startup, barebones kit out (WW has several available that use a d6
system so you can grab Monopoly or Yahtzee dice) is one thing. Giving away
most if it is another. If you really want to compare the difference, pick up
one of the aforementioned kits. (Which, btw, they will grant reproduction
rights for with a simple E-mail or letter so long as you don't charge for
it.)

On the other hand, if someone could sneak a copy of Shadows Over Mexico onto
the internet......(just kidding).

Oddly enough, Dragons of the East (for their Mage & Lotus lines, I think
there's an excerpt on ninjas on the site somewhere) and Killing Streets
(Lotus again) would make for some excellent Street Fighter material.
Destiny's Price (Mage again) can be used well, but it takes a great deal of
maturity that doesn't really fit well with a SF game (and could easily turn
your game into an episode of Beavis and Butthead) ;P

If you want to involve law enforcment, Project Twilight would be decent, but
the references to other game lines would have to be a tad...interpretted.
(Investigating Blanka's latest fight as a werewolf attack.)

As for getting somebody a copy of the main book, I kinda ran the well almost
dry in Milwaukee (getting zero return on sending copies to freinds who
promised me other books in return but never sent them) and don't live near
anyplace I can anymore.

we wouldnt even need to reprint the core rules.
ppl could just use their knowledge of white wolf games for "how to
roll dice 101"

just the street fighter specific stuff.

mainly the chapter on combat, the chapters on cyborgs, hybrids, and
elementals, the sf specific backgrounds, and the parts about
character creation freebie point costs, ep costs.
plus all the moves (which most guys here have reproduced without
permission already without anyone caring)

Shadows over mexico was a book they had finished almost but hadn't
quite come out.

then they lost their deal with capcom and couldnt put it out.

so all that was left is a few obscure listings in catologues etc for
preordering it..

That would take forever to scan a whole book. plus it'd be a big
file.

easier to make an ugly ass text of the neccessary rules.

Sorry to critisize, I appreciate the effort... but it conflicts a bit with my
perception of the Character.

Point one: It's Hotaru, not Hataru.  Hotaru is his family name (yes, his
family name is "firefly").  Seijuro is his given name.

Point two: The pose just doesn't work.  He isn't an experienced warrior
daring the world to come and "get" him; he is a young and naive ninja bunny
of doom.  He has a more humble stance, and still can't get the wonder he
looks at the world with out of his eyes.

Think of it like this: before the Gateway Tournament he lived on a isolated
island and trained non-stop.  Now he's been introduced to the world, but
everything is fresh and new, and a bit confusing.  I just want the picture to
reflect that a bit.

He wears shoes like those of the Kung Fu Fighters (i don't know the name in

rounded, due to the Ocidental parentage, no mustaches and the like, he (like
most orientals) has no bodyhair.
No props (tatoos, skateboards, skates, etc.). Except for the aforementioned
fact that his sleeve is longer and larger than the usual...
Anithing more???? Sorry if I forgot anything again...

Group: streetfighter Message: 11049 From: Mark Senger Date: 5/9/2001
Subject: Re: Copy of SF rules wanted
Hi everybody,

I'm new to the group, or at least to posting cause I've been lurking for a
couple weeks. So, um.. Hi.

I think an SF netbook would be a great idea. I've managed to track down all
the books except the Player's Guide and the adventure (forgot the name),
neither of which I need. It'd be great if I could just give my player's a
.PDF or .txt file of the rules instead of only having one book to pass
around. As it is, I made photocopies of the sections of the rulebook I
though they should read. I suppose that's just as bad as passing a text file
around the internet since WW expressly states do not photocopy.

Wouldn't it be cool to compile a netbook of new styles, maneuvers, etc? I've
visited a lot of the web sites and you guys have come up with some
outstanding stuff.

I'm currently re-typing the descriptive text of most of the styles for my
players so they can read them over. I'd be happy to contribute it if
somebody is gonna work on a netbook. Actually, does anyone have the
description of Ninjitsu or Majestic Crow Kung Fu from the books? I have the
stats but I had to make up descriptions.

Did someone say they were from Milwaukee? So am I. Know anywhere I might be
able to find those last two books?

Okay, that's all.

_Mark

I got one from Napoleon's by UWM off their used rack, but don't count on
seeing any more. There was another place that had two locations. One
location was near where the old Melody Top used to be (Chuck-e-Cheese, a
K-Mart, a Ponderosa were all still there last I saw, a few blocks from
Northridge shopping mall.) That location is primarily models, but they can
tell you how to get to their other location which had a bunch of used stuff.
(They might still even have a copy of Contenders if that's what you're
looking for.)

Best bet is to pick up a Yellow Pages and flip through the Hobbies section.

Moves from the players handbook (and everything else) can be found in
the files section in the file called "Combatica" (for your contenders)

I will put the basic rules that are in the phb (and all other books)
on my page soon, maybe this weekend, when i do "the big update".
theyll be in text files or html though (scanning takes too long!).
