I have had some of my characters make appearance in games, but they never help the team out. Just a mention of them. Sometimes of the player's other characters, too.

Im not gonna beleive that ibuki's part of the bushin style till I see it in
a story. I partially beleive she is part of Gekis school but that's it.

Im Sorry I know you didnt say that ibuki is from his clan only that you
heard. but rumors bug me. One story I also heard is that Remy is somehow
related to guile because the girl at the end of Remys story looks like
guiles daughter. Or the story that Yun and Yang are related to Gen. Im
surprised that people havnt said that vega is part of Geki's clan cause he
uses a claw just like geki and does ninjitsu. hmm.

Ehh... Here I must digress. Just having two of the manuvers of a classic fighter, does not denote a mirrored gameplay/style orientation.
From Remy's background it seems very unlikly that he will have had any affiliation with the military at all. His strikes are much more reserved. His punches are all with open hands. I still have little idea what he is, but I don't seem much similarity between he Guile and Charlie, aside the two stable maneuvers.

He at least has Sonic Boom and Flash Kick. He's essentially Guile.

She at least has Rekka-ken. Does kinda seem like a Judo/Kung Fu mix.

Actually Don Miguel is in contact with AScii, he tranlated the program to
Russian (he is Russian) & English before they had plans to bring it
here-currently it's been translated into Spanish, German, and a couple other
languages I think. Basically any playstation version will be crap because of
the lack of new features, patches, and ability to make custum graphics w/
winpaint etc. According to other sources AsCii is fine with it as long as
you don't distribute the games, but this may be an older view from before
they had plans to translate the program themselves and/or realized there
would be a market for it overseas. Regardless, unless an official PC version
comes out I'm using it b/c the Playstation version would be far too limited
and so far there is no "official" PC english version available for purchase
anyway so they aren't losing any revenue.

I just wanted to mention that my Street Fighter web page, Final
Countdown, has recently undergone a medium revamp. The maneuver and
styles listing has been re-organized into one alphabetical sheet in
addition to house rule and maneuver overhaul/addition. (Well, some of
these are a few weeks old, but I haven't sent any update notices aside
from mentioning the pages birth a few months ago.)

More character stats will be on-line in a few weeks.

like one thing they remove the medium punch and kick (it appear like the Snk

put more characters.

I've heard if you hit the light button twice in a combo, the second hit
comes out as a medium for the Capcom characters.

It's Vice, not Mature (though Mature shows up in the Rugal vs Vice

Yup as Superstar. His brother Ho Young Pak was also a "master" called Star
Warrior.

To be honest, WMAC Masters really tore my heart out. Yes there was cool
martial arts action and the costumes weren't really that garish, but ti was
the execution that was shoddy. the laughable "fight" scenes were reminscent
of fighting games, which is what i think they were trying to go for. I found
it offensive because it was like they were trying to assert a more "fighting
game" approach when it should have been more about martial arts exhibition.
Also I would have liked to have seena wider variety of martial arts. I love
kung fu and karate, don't get me wrong, but I was hoping ot see more a more
diverse range of disciplines.

For what is was worth, I DID enjoy the "personas" adopted by the fighters.
they were overdone at times (Panther, Tracer). At the same time I didn't
think they should have tried to cram in moral lessons sideways into
everything they did. Also these fighters WERE extremely talented and I did
enjoy the exhibition segments, particularly those of Richard Branden (AKA
Yin Yang Man).

All in all it was good concept but sloppy execution. My two cents anyway.

Well, I am still awaiting my copy, but from what I was told there are
actually two different styles o gameplay called the "SNK Groove" and "Capcom
Groove" (Both of which would make excellent band names).

the difference is in how the commands are executed, I beleive, as wellas the
way your life bar is measured. There's also the differeing styles of supper
attacks (ie in SNK groove, you power bar goes up as your life decreases, and
Capcom Groove you build up a power bar as we all know).

My info's a bit shady on this as it is, so don't take this as gospel.

I unlocked Evil Ryu, Akuma, and evil Iori. I would have prefered 6
buttons also.. but this game still rules. They could have used some more
characters.. but overall.. I'm happy with it.. much more so than the other
"vs." games.. this is more of a Street Fighter game than a friggin zany
button masher. I prefer Capcom groove.. but SNK groove works cool when you
are low on health.

The only difference is the power bar, really. In SNK, it only goes down if
you fill it to the max, and you fill it by holding the Roundhouse and Fierce
buttons. Also, some secrets can only be unlocked if you beat the game in a
certain groove. I very much like the SNK groove, and my favorite team is
Terry and Mai, or Terry and Ken.

In Capcom groove, your super meter increases as you do special attacks
(and maybe take damage).
In SNK groove, your super meter only increases when you use the "charge
power" command. Although, SNK finally dropped that style of play after
KOF97.

My players will be facing off with him in the next game session as he has
been in the background of the campaign since the beginning and now
threatens the entire world. His stats will probably find theire way
on-line afterwards (if he dies).

From the King of Fighter's storyline, he created his own style.

I would probably use Kung Fu to try to make him using non-custom made
styles/maneuvers (but I custom-built him).

Dragon Kick or Flying Thrust Kick for Genocide Cutter
Fireball or Improved Fireball for Kaiser Wave/Reppu-ken

However, the Dark Barrier (reflective shield against fireballs) and
Godpress would be tough (be insanely good at Energy Reflection?).
Siberian Bear Crusher would be best for Godpress.

Also: Double-Hit Kick, Handstand Kick (for his standing Axe Kick), and a
few nasty grabs - and whatever else you deem fits

Definitely independent.

On a personal level yes. On an organizational level, possibly. He at
least has his own air craft carrier/base, Black Noah.

Both myself and our alternating Storyteller have the world filled with
many threats beyond Shadoloo . . . but Shadoloo is the most enduring
threat.

Yeah.. it's probably because the game is intended as a classics genre.. to
me, anyway. After all.. it plays more like Street Fighter II than alphas or

Awesome movie! Bar none.

It also gave me a good idea for a topic of discussion. This is an action
movie with not only martial arts, but car chases, sky dives, explosions,
etc. The whole movie itself could quite possibly fit well within the Street
Fioghter world...with a few changes that would make for a nice campaign.

First of all, the three girls seem to have skills that come right off the
SF Character Sheet. Lucy Liu is a tech head who's skilled with electronics,
mechanics, demolitions etc. Cameron Diaz seems to be able to operate any
type of vehicle, and Drew Barrymore tends more toward the ass kicking bad
ass concept. All three are stealthy, (gorgeous) and can sweet talk their
ways in and out of any situation.

Now ehere was I going with this....oh yeah.

Comparing this movie to the SF world made made me realie that there tons of
room for a good campaign outside of the ring.
I've been involved in a few campaigns now and they all seemed to be in some
way focused on the actual Street Fighter Circuit.

What I think I'd like to see next is a campaign that has nothing to do with
the street fighter cicuit but simply uses the Street Fighter Role Playing
System, to create the world for a good action-movie campaign.

Has anyone got any good examples of campaigns they've run that weren't
Street Fighter related, but still worked out well?

I ran a game of A.N.G.E.L.S. (before designing the EPICS system, which now is the offical rules system for that background) using the Street Fighter rules, and it worked out quite well. I wanted more hand to hand and less firearms, and SF reflected that "reality". The campaign had nothing to do whatsoever with Street Fighter. Of course, I had to leave some of the more "video game" Maneuvers out of the list of possible Maneuvers.
Over all, it came out with a very "Matrix" feel (although Matrix wasn't out at the time, all my players later said that the movie had the same feeling).

Stats for these maneuvers are in the vault under the

Rugal was a suck ass Krauser ripp off anyway.) so maby

Seeing as how my game has been running strong for
about 5 years we pretty much have dona away with
shadowloo it still exists but it much weaker. Some of
the threats we have are as follows.

On a scale of 1 to 10
1 being the league of woman voaters and a 10 the
technocracy from mage the assention.

Shadowloo: You know about shadowloo.
Bastard O Meter: 6 (shadowloo aint what it used to
be.)

U.C.W.A.: unlimited class wrestling assoceation. Like
i said in an earlier post most wrestlers tend to be
evil in our game. UCWA is one such group of evil
wrestlers. Consisting of about 4 main bastiches
(El diablo verde: same guy from VTM but not a vampire,
Billy mcronin Master of drunken Sambo, King Ragnarock
Mystery dude my players havent met yet, and Joseph
Masterson : the mack daddy pimp of evil wrestlers.)
Anyway these guys are doing numerous evil things that
the players havent connected to them yet.
Bastard O Meter: 5 (not bad for a group consisting of
20 dudes total.)

Alpha Complex: A one time shadowloo moon base where
bison kept a satalite which could brain wash world
leaders. but the sataliter went heywire and blasted
the occupants of the base and than it became alpha
complex. Well after the events in Fatal fury the
motion picture someone else went after the armor of
mars and peiced it togeather, But the pc's stopped
mars
only to find out that mars no longer controlled it
Laocorn did any way some of the pc's got a magical
crystal to trap lao-korn in the crystal and than later
on one of the pc's discovered an alien portal to the
moon where he quickly deposited the crystal with
loa-korns spirit the Ocupants of alpha complex
conected the crystal to their failing computer core
and loa-korn posessed it and became the computer and
directed
the people to concor the world which the pc once again
had to prevent.
Bastard O Meter: 6

Shadow Roo: on ocassion shadoroo has made plays for
the parlament of Australia but have been thwarted.
Bastard O Meter: 7

Geese Howards Crime Sybdicate: Not Much to discribe
here that people dont already know.
Bastard O Meter: 9 in south town 4 elsewhere.

well thats about it!

For the time being I am running a campaign in a fictional world based loosely on medievil Oriental setting. It is the best Street Fighter campaign I have ever run. It got some real Hong Kong movie action feel to it, and lots of swordplay/Martial arts...
I will have details about this world with new maneuvers to fit in on my homepage, when i get it up and running.

Oh Lucy Liu, the things that you do.
</rumination>

AAAANYWAY.

I *really* wanted to like this movie. It was silly, campy, Kung-Fu-y, had
lots of action, didn't take itself the least bit seriously, and had enough
T&A to handle my libido for the next six months. But something was just...
missing. Maybe it was the trauma of re-living the seventies over and over
again. But I came out of my viewing of Charlies Angels more confused as to
why I didn't like it, and why I *should* have liked it, than anything else.

Maybe it's one of those 'beer' flicks. You know, the ones you initially
hate but find yourself wanting to see over and over again anyway. Like The
Rocky Horror Picture Show or Army of Darkness. I'm inclined to go see it
again just to see what I didn't 'get' the first time around. Or I could
just have the urge to go see Lucy Liu stomp all over Tim Curry again.

uh...

On to the topic at hand.

Most of my campaigns usually wind up deviating away from the circuit
completely anyway. The usual pattern whenever my players start new
characters is;

1) Recurring manager character hurredly trying to put together a new team
since his last one got distracted and gave up Street Fighting. Spots
promising newcomers and asks them to sign on with him.

2) Newly-signed PCs start entering tournaments, and eventually bump up
against the wrong side of the law in one form or another. Sometimes
Shadoloo, sometimes United Enforcement, sometimes a third party.

3) PCs decide that this evil needs to be fought, whether through
newly-acquired personal grudge or just because "it's the right thing to do".

4) PCs spend more time with groups like Interpol than their manager, who
sighs and resigns himself to the fact that he's doing a greater good, even
though he's lost yet another team.

5) PCs eventually piss off someone more dangerous than they feel like
dealing with, decide to lay low, and we then return to step 1.
