Good advice.

That movie was wicked. When I first heard about it thought it was gonna
suck. Saw some promos. Not bad. Finally saw it... Amazing.
Didnt expect anything and I liked it.

Well, about the ages, the movie is supposed to be set around the late '70s
of the comic book (years not issues). It's before the Pheonix storyline, so
it's pretty close actually, with Bobby, Kitty, and Jubilee being a slight
exception.

I heard he was slated to play Gambit.
I realize this is just a rumour, but I do think he'd do a good

I don't "hate" Gambit, but I'll always think of him as
"the new guy." The product of committee thinking.

I've heard mixed reviews of X-Men... I think I'll wait
until it comes to the Dollar Theatre before I see
it...

It's too bad Hollywood has to play to the lowest
common denominator. It doesn't look very true to the
original. Where's Nightcrawler? He would have been a
perfect "double agent" between Magneto (a fellow
German?) and Xavier's contingent.

And although Fammke Janssen is definitely one of the
ten hottest females in the known universe, but she
could have at least put some dang red in her hair!

PS: HAS ANYBODY HEARD FROM RINALDO ???

mike,

whats up. and congrats on being the founder of such a fine
establishment. i guess i should just break down and let you know the
club address so you can see what it's all about. it just moved
locations so some of the links are still under construction. and
again, if like 30 people just up and joined the guy who runs it would
probably spontaniously combust. but a slow but steady infusion might
be cool.

also if you are into starting your own i would be interested, i warn
you though, it looks like quit a bit of work.

We've never really used the chat feature of eGroups. One time we tried to
start up an IRC channel, but that didn't fly either.

I've always never been impressed by Gambit for no particular reason.
(maybe because his attack call-out in x-men vs SF got annoying).

They had a very limited budget for the movie considering the type of
movie they did. I think they did an excellent job putting a comic into a
well-structured film without horribly mangling any of the characters. The
Street Fighter movie on the other hand...

I actually wouldn't mind seeing it again. It's one of those films that
many expected to suck and were blown away by the fact it didn't. However,
a movie can't ever replace a book, especially a long-running comic like
X-men, but it can bring to life certain moments and characters for a
limited time.

Hey. I was just looking over this move that was in my mail.
Some letters I keep for a while. I finally realized what would make this
move more interesting.

If a person does deflecting kick then he is more prone to losing balance You
should add something that makes him more susceptable to
falling.

Nor do I, Fred. It's the Hurtin' again, after an ill-timed absense. Maybe
I should hold off on this whole Fight Club circuit 'till I get my own
computer...nah.

Ok, as most of you have readily observed, there seems to be some discrepency
between people's self-image and the White Wolf System. Admittedly, White
Wolf does not lend itself to mortal traits. Most people find themselves
with nothing more than twos and the odd three.
A few people have thrown out fours and fives, which as most have pointed
out, is very rare. As someone else eloquently put it:

"3 is trained proffesional (snip)
4 is top expert (any of you work at peoplesoft making 250K+ a year? I
thought not), and 5 is... get this... peerless mastery of the
subject."

Now, the obvious question is, if you really are the marvelous physical
specimen you might claim to be, what are you doing playing Street Fighter
the RPG, when you obviously are so badly needed in the UFC?

I've included a list of approved fighters for the BVFC. If you're on the
list, you're in.

Herder- Wrestling
Leirbakk- Samttering of Tae Kwon Do
Brian Fish- Jujitsu
Fred Chagnon-Shotokan Karate (but you only have Computer 3. If you
want to change it, break into my Hotmail account.)
Yasuharu Konishi-Wrestling
Chris Hoffman-Fencing
Cliff Rice-Some form of wrestling

J.Scott Pittman would be on this list, but in order to have a 5 in
manipulation and a 4 in appearance, I need to see a photo... of him
negotiating peace in the Middle East.

Cayr, and J.J., you two said your submissions weren't objective, so please
resubmit them.

For those of you who have been unfairly blessed with skills beyond that of
your mortal brethren with no means to prove it, have I got a deal for you.
Send me your snail mail address and I'll send you a video tape. Get a
camcorder and videotape yourself sparring. Make sure you identify yourself
by name on the tape. I'll include a SASE to return it. If your Star Search
tape proves you to be all you promised and more, you keep your stats and get
a free focus maneuver. S'all right? S'all right.

That's it for the moment. Further house rules and global enchantments to
follow.

I could personally vouch for Shan (megaman205), he's like some sort of
genetic freak, he's REALLY strong (he can definately bench more than
250lbs), as for Cayr, I know him in real life too. . . . .and I'm not gonna
comment. As for the UFC comment, I am actually thinking of trying out for
the Olympic team in Pankration for 2004 (if it ever happens, I have heard
things both ways). I will freely admit to making the Dim Mak comment,
because as no one on this list is George Dillman, I am just not seeing it.

Another thing that is key with stats in white wolf is that I see the stats
as a range. For example, strength of 2 means you bench less than 250lbs (me
personally can bench about 160), str of a 3 is 250 - whatever the low end
of 4 is.

Actually I think having a tourney for fun is a good idea, but how do you
determine what is right and wrong? And how would you know who would do
what? I personally know that even though I am technically better than Shan,
and have about 2 years of experience on him, he could beat me in a fight.
And although I think it might be fun, I see too much of an avenue for bad
feelings from the fights, since they are, in effect, ourselves. . . .

ZEN NO SHOW

Cost: Any 1

Using his innate psychic abilities (and command of the
obvious) the fighter gets a glimpse of the future and
sees himself taking a world-class beating at the hands
of a much more proficient (or angry) opponent. He
wisely hops into a cab just before the match. When the
fight starts, he is already halfway home, where he
will turn off the lights and not answer the door.

SYSTEM: The fighter forfeits the match, losing 1 Glory
and 1 Honor, but gains 1 experience point for using
his head for something other than a punching bag.

Speed: as fast as you can run
Damage: to your reputation
Move: to a new address if necessary
Cost: 2 Willpower (because it makes you feel like a

I'll be using this one against Cliff if we ever get in
a Boston Crab contest!

Subterfuge : 2 (I got my degree... not totally honestly!)

Blind Fighting : 0 (I cannot do that)
Drive : 0 to 1 (I got my license in 95, and did not drive since!!)
Leadership : 2, I think. Already survived (and helped others to) in a blaze.
Storyteller since 13 years! Club leader since 13 years. Kung Fu
semi-teacher.
Security : 0.
Stealth : 1. I'm not puny, but... little!
Survival : 0.

Arena : 1.
Computer : 2, no more no less.
Investigation : 1
Medicine : 0
Mysteries : 1 to 2, Occultism is a great interest for me!
Style Lore : 3, Martial Arts are a passion in theory!

Honor 3, Glory 0

Allies : 3
Contacts : 2 (I know people who know people high placed)
Resources : a little 1. help me! ^_^!
Sensei : 3. My friend Christophe, who teach me, is not so easy to reach
(always travelling between China, France and Viet-nam), but he's a crack. He
went to Shaolin-Si for eight months (as a monk, not as a tourist), learned
secret styles of Kung-Fu, is invulnerable (yeah, we tried everything to hurt
him for one full hour, and he didn't even break a sweat), has a good spirit
(humble and friendly) and is practicing Wa-Jutsu, Ju-jutsu, Kenpô, Kung-Fu
and Karate since 1982... Yeah...

Punch : 1 to 2. Mantis style.
Kick : 2. I can do that.
Block : 2 to 3. I'm practicing "eight-directions Kung-Fu" and "Seven Stars
Xiang Tao", learning to avoid and/or break the trajectory of any
conventional blow.
Grab : 2. Locks mainly, and chinese grappling.
Athletics : 2. I run fast, and am supple too.
Focus : 1. Just the basic Chi Kung, Tai Chi, Ma Bo, and chinese tree
exercices. ("wow, my hands are hotter and hotter!")
Kung Fu Rope : 1. Long rope with a metal pike.

Maneuvers : Atemi Strike (chinese way, mantis style, with two fingers
protruding), Monkey Grab Punch, Knee Strike, Foot Sweep, Spinning Foot
Sweep, Butterfly Kick (effectively in combat, I mean), Deflecting Punch,
Deflecting Kick, Joint Lock, and it seems to be done!

Sorry if I seem offensive, but I really checked the books of SFtSG, and ...
what could I say, that's my level! I'm not a total beginner. That's all I
have to say to my defense. Please do not flame me. ^_^!

Okay, i don't think it's appropriate to explain the stats, so I'll go with
three in Manipulation and three in Appearance. Add a flaw to my character -
conceited, heh.

Hey Guys sorry I haven't responded to a message in a month or two but I was occupied with summer school bummer. Anyway I just recently got through with it and I came back. So did I miss anything massively interesting like for instance did White Wolf all the sudden have a stoke of genius and deicde to put out the Street Fighter books in reprint. Probaly not but one can always hope. I managed to read an interesting e-mail about darksun that somebody posted a few days back you forgot to mention the fact that the elves are not to much of a problem due to the giant 6 ft tall 400 pound mantis's walking around eating them. Anyway I'll try to keep a little more current from now on see ya later guys.

Subject: Re: [streetfighter] Buena Vista Cat Fight
Alright you all asked for it. Here's me in all my glory, the most
non-threatening character to ever grace a spiral notebook:

Name: Lord Azathoth
Player: Al Lukan
Chronicle: My life needs a soundtrack
Style: Fight Dirty
School: Whatever I pick up, three time white belt dropout
Stable: Mentally? Not at All
Team: Whispering Load, N-Force
Concept: Gamer for life
Signature: Kick opponent when he's down

Physical
Strength 2 (average)
Dexterity 2 (average)
Stamina 2 (I tire easily but can take a beating, so it evens out)

Social
Charisma 3 (I'm a charmer!)
Manipulation 3 (Definitely)
Appearance 2/3 (Depends on if I'm wearing my contacts or due for a haircut)

Mental
Perception 3 (Above Average)
Intelligence 3 (Above Average)
Wits 3 (Above Average, but then the average person around here is pretty
dumb/slow/oblivious)

Talents
Alertness 2 (Becomes a 4 for the first hour after watching a scary movie)
Interrogation 4 (You have no idea, I am the biggest sneak and can get
anything out of you without you even knowing I tried, usually with the old "I
already know" ploy, I could back this up but it would take too many stories)
Streetwise 2 (was a 1 till I got jumped, now I know where to walk and where
not to)
Subterfuge 3 (I sell Insurance for Chrissakes!)

Skills
Drive 3 (I am "At One with my car")
Leadership 3 (Definitely effective leader in times of strife)
Survival 0 (wilderness + Al = "Boy lost in woods" headline)

Knowledges
Computer 2 working on a 3
Mysteries 2 or 3, I know a lot of esoteric stuff
Style Lore 1 (I know a boxer punches and a wrestler wrestles…)

Backgrounds
Allies -A shitload
Arena-Any couch, I excel at wrestling on couches and have never been beaten.
Off a couch I'm mincemeat though.
Backing-Yeah, right
Contacts-Um… 2? Tons with useless info but only a few who know anything of
value
Fame-Nope
Manager-Nope
Resources-1, I live paycheck to paycheck
Sensei-1 My uncle the black belt
Staff-nope

Techniques
Punch 2 (I know how to put all my weight behind a punch and how to connect
with a jaw)
Kick 1 (I know how to angle to get full force in your chest or chin)
Block 2 (That time I got jumped it was 9 guys kicking and punching me and I
defended myself and walked away uninjured)
Grab 1 (2 on a couch, I don't know why but whenever I wrestle on a couch or
in a schoolbus seat etc. I am unstoppable! I just use the contours to my
advantage. Really. And fought a lot on the school bus...)
Athletics 1 (I ain't going anywhere fast. To quote my friend when we were
running from a gang of college dropouts in the local sump, "Here, you take
the knife, you're the slowest of us.")
Focus Yeah Right
Escrima Sticks 1 (I can swing them in a nice defensive arc and hit stuff with
them. Yay!)

Style: Fight Dirty-My Uncle only taught me the brutal effective stuff not the
artistic kata stuff. Basically, if you can't knock a guy on his ass with it
he felt it wasn't worth teaching me. This ex-marine did the same thing and
showed me how they killed VC sentries quickly and quietly in Nam', but I
never practiced those since they tend to crush the windpipe of the person
you're sparring with.

Special Moves: Since there are few moves I can perform "consistently" instead
I'm just listing every move I ever remember doing or training to do.
Punch
Dashing Punch (description sounds like how I start my fights)
Modified Spinning Back Fist a.k.a. the "Bitch Slap"

Kicks
Double Hit Kick (Can do it from years of playing HackeySack but choose not to
because I feel it leaves me too open for a strike to the balls)
Flying Knee Thrust (Used it on a kid I didn't like while playing football,
ran up, leapt forward and drove a knee into his chest. We tied that game, no
OT)
Foot Sweep (First move my uncle taught me, and I've long since forgotten how
to do it)
Heel Stamp (Love this move! Keep them at a distance!)

Grabs
Knee Basher
Pin (actually an arm lock)

Athletics
Jumping Shoulder Butt (Basic Move, prefer the Dashing Punch or Heel Stamp
though)

Focus
Sure, Mega Gundam Flare… Alright, you caught me that's the fake one.

Others: Lots of neck and throat strikes, a couple pressure points, and some
other nasty stuff I would never use unless it was life or death-obviously
these have been studied but never tested or put into practice (except the
pressure points). Most blind, disfigure, or attempt to cripple the target.
Don't let that scare you though it's all academic at this point and I would
never say I was a fighter to be feared by any means.

Combo: Heel Stamp to Heel Stamp to Heel Stamp etc… Just keep knocking them
back as they come in on you while you wait for backup!

Chi:1
Willpower: 5

Honor: Not in a street fight, but otherwise I'm usually pretty honorable
Glory: Um… You guys know me.

Health: 8, again, I'm not a good fighter but I can take a beating

Gear: use whatever is available as a weapon or distraction, dirt in the eyes
is a favorite but the wind never seems to go the right direction :)

I noticed that sometimes I moved between four and five, and that was a

The procedure for Warrior's Pride submissions can be found in the "In
