Oh! Thanks, that's where I was lost. First it says you
can only kick, then it says you can punch with a
damage penalty. I also thought you couldn't do
anything on the turn you took to relocate the arm.

Jeff is one of the players in my group...I talked to
him last Saturday...he rarely checks his e-mail any
more...give him 'til this Saturday, but I have a
feeling he's not going to be showing back up on the
e-group...(don't quote me on that)

Lessee...

Since I wanted a more anime flair to my game, I
decided to try and bring in several anime/manga
characters as opponents...

The Inner Senshi (Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor
Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus)

Ranma and company

Geobaldi, Kahm and Battia (from Outlanders)

Sonic and Knuckles (yes, they do have comic books)

K.A.R.R. (okay, I know this one isn't a anime/manga
character, but I liked the concept from Knight Rider,
so I transplanted his control chip into a custom built
cyborg body. He's nasty...)

Hmmm...now that I think about it, that's not a
lot...but then, I have an unfortunately limited
exposure to anime and manga coming from a small
college town in Montana.

I still have the character sheet someone posted to the list like ages

Cool, good to know that at least I can the imports will work. So there
is still a future for this system... so long as there are import shops
in the USA. YAY! I spent yesterday evening driving around Atlanta
trying to find any games I could. I'm happy to say that the local EBX
still had some stuff in stock, although they hadn't received any
shipments in something like 4 months, & didn't know why (until the
announcemnt yesterday anyway). Sounds like the local sources are
drying up fast. G'luck finding games to all y'all out there w/
Neo-pockets, I gotta feeling the e-bay demons are gonna be sucking us
dry on the 'rare' Neo-pocket games in a few months... yuck

Simple you send me (my email) a character with Rank 9 using this pack

Atributes 10/8/6 (none higher than 7)
Habilities 16/13/10 (none higher than 7)
Techniques 25 (none higher than 7)
Chi Willpower: per style
Initial Health 15
Glory and Honor 15 (make a division for this ex: Glory 9 Honor 6) none higher than 9.
Special Manuvers 25

I think I would like to get on this too this time, if it wouldn't be a
problem.

Also, would any of you be interested in having a duelist tournament? I'm
asking because i would like to run a tournament and showcase it in Warrior's
Pride. Even if not a duelist tournament, I wouild still like to do the same
thing. Anyone interested?

Karate was developed in the Ryukyu Isles .IT's a mix of the martial ats the warrior fugtives from the Taira- Minamoto wars in Japan brought with them, and alot of chinese influents of Kempo/Chu'an fa, during the period wich Okinawa were under control f feudal China.
Karate didn't become officially in Japan before around 1920's.
Kempo was developed at Shaolin temple. The indian Bodidharma (sp?) came to Shaolinand mixed his filosofy with Shaolins. And from that came Kempo.

Well unless agreed upon before the battle by the fighters, then weapons
would be replaced when neccessary...for instance, a staff would be fine in
any event, but a sword would be replaced by a wooden one of comparable size
and weight. Fights that may cripple, seriously injure, or even kill one of
the combatants would, as I said before, have to be agreed upon by both
fighters.

Hmm...a Duellist tournament? Sounds interesting. I'm
game, and I have a lot of fighters in my stable to
use. What exactly are you going to need?

The character I'm preparing for the Ages tournament is skilled with a
Broadsword.
Could he be allowed in both tournaments?

Three. Freestyle, Traditional, Duelist.

Depends. Usually, IMC (in my campaign), there's a Traditional scene in
almost any style. However, they tend to be very different. For instance,
the Traditional scene in boxing requires quite a lot of Glory, while
competing in the Traditional Kung Fu or Karate scene would require quite a
lot of Honor.

Some Traditional scenes are quite tough, almost Duelist in effect, while
some Duelist fights are almost Traditional in outlook. For instance, a
Duelist fight in Karate might allow only the Bo, or a Duelist in Aikido
might allow only either the Bokken, the Shinai, or the Katana, while a
Traditional fight in Muay Thai might allow the fighter to strike while the
opponent is Dizzy, but not while the opponent is KD.

Not necessarily. I would think that a lot of the stranger fighters would
be excluded from some tournaments, while some tournaments might REQUIRE
weird backgrounds. I'm considering a 'Sorcerer' tournament, in which Focus
guys compete to see which one is the badder mage, and in there Animal
Hybrids and worse would be considered about par. I don't know about
cyborgs, though.

Shorinji Kempo is actually the Japanese pronounciation of Shaolin Kungfu,
so it's true that kempo was originally developed at the Shaolin temple. It
is probable that the martial art that Bodhidharma taught was founded in
Kalaripayat, an Indian martial art. The healing taught (Ayur-veda) is
somewhat similar to the idea behind a lot of Chinese traditional healing
as well, though that may be a coincidence (the idea of energy meridians
seem to be something that Western medicine never even considered -
strange, isn't it?) and have probably nothing to do with the issue at
hand.

Karate (now, empty hand) originally meant "China Hand", so it is probable
that the true origins of Karate are Chinese, as well. The Japanese seem to
be very good at "copy and then refine", instead of "come up with something
new".

Here's the deal.
In the next issue of Warrior's Pride (July), will be character guidelines
and maneuver lists (although not neccessarily complete maneuver
descriptions...you will have to go to J. Scott Pittman's site to get his
weapon maneuvers, for example) for the as of yet unnamed Duelist Tournament.
There will then be a limited amount of time to confirm whether or not you
will be in the tournament...this is not a deadline for characters but
instead a deadline for you the player to e-mail me telling me you will be
involved.
NPCs will be made to fill in any empty spaces.
There will be one fighter who will not fight during the tournament, but will
face off against the character who has won all of the actual tournament
fights. Kind of like a boss character, this character will be a rank (or
two) above the other fighters, but will not be a monster like Bison.

Subject: Anyone ever tried this?
Hello, I'm a tad bit new on this group. I was looking at some of the
tournamentn results and wondered if anyone ever tried an online game.
My idea was this: The GM creates, say, a fictional town or country
or
whatever that is our background in the beginning. I would probably
say a good-sized city. The PCs creates their characters and sends it
to the GM. Anyway, the PCs tell stories of things their character
goes through and whatnot. The GM comes up with a scenario that can
affect the city in some way (riot, disaster, whatever). The PCs then
write out how their character reacts to the situation. Combat is
resolved by the GM. The GM sends both participants (if both PCs) the
blow by blow, and the winner of the combat tells how the fight went.
Of course using the results as a guide. Sorry if this sounds like a
bad idea, but it just hit me and thought I'd share.

Thanks for reading,
Demond

Hey, welcome to the group. I *believe* that some one did attempt something
like this, but don't hold me to that.
