The other role-players there did not allow me to join their room, but make a
new room altogether. The dice roller can roll 1o-sided dice and give a
result on all the diffrent dice! For example you could command the program
to roll 5d10 (by typing !roll 5D10) and the result might be 4, 8, 10, 2, and
9, for example (everyone can see the results). Of course, there's private
chat rooms for when the players wish to talk in private, and even sound
effects can be added by us!! I think this mIRC room would be awesome for
running fights and tournaments in! Who's in??

OK, OK, I'm back, and I'm mad as HECK (hows that for intimidation).

Please send me the information on how to make up characters for the Rank 9
and Rank 5 characters for both of those tournaments. I'd like very much to
be a part of them now that I have a few days to spend making up characters
and stratagies.

Waiting patiently.....

Well this you need for Ages I´m curious about C.Krug Iron tournament too.
Ahh and for this tournament just say me when and where your fighter come
(anytime and anyplace will be acept) :)

Atributes 10/8/6 (none higher than 7)
Habilities 16/13/10 (none higher than 7)
Techniques 25 (none higher than 7)
Chi Willpower: per style
Initial Health 15
Glory and Honor 15 (make a division for this ex: Glory 9 Honor 6)
Special Manuvers 25
Freebies 30
Backgrounds 15 (none higher than 7)

It´s valid spent freebies like normal initials the limitation is none of dots
can pass 7 limit.
This a initial pack for rank 9 fighters this like a new figther except he have
more points to expent and more freebies make like a normal character in the
beggining.

if you dont have mIRC and would like to get it, just let me know and I'd be

Ok, there has been a lot of hype lately about Tournaments and such. And I
am all up for it and everything but I am getting a little confused as to who
is running them and what the details are.

Rinaldo is running the Ages Tournament
Joespitt has the mIRC room up and running, (Cool room by the way, am in it
right now.)
Chris Krug-Iron wants to do the rank fivers, no holds barred.

I apologize if I missed anyone, and if I did, can you please let me know?

Thanks very much

MikeM - and if your online right now (Thursday night, 10:15 est, come to the

All right, you're in. Make up a rank fiver with 90 points on top of build.
Any style, any background. When you're done with that, send me a tactics
list of 20 moves in succession. Add on any little things that would happen
situationally (such as: when the opponent's dizzied, any situational aborts,
little character things you'd find cool in a fight.) After that, send me
the list of both your fighter and his tactics list at Inrifrost@...
or Pumonca@.... Later, dude.

Subject: Re: [streetfighter] Request for fighters
Well, this should answer your questions, I hope.

1. Stats and attributes are up to you. There is no limit, except up to
eight dots on any ability. You have 90 points to spend, excluding freebies.
Use the experience point chart found in the Main Sourcebook, or the one
found on the Storyteller's Screen.
2. I'd stated in my previous post that I'm accepting eight different
fighters, the names were already stated as to who I wanted in. I'm not
using NPC's. This is all you guys.
3.Hey! Headaches? That's why I have that Jumbo-Family-Econo-pack of
painkillers...;) Weapons are completely allowed. Just remember that
Specials cannot be used (discretionary, of course. I'm not going to argue
with a Jumping slash or kippup) while you have a weapon in your hands.

Would I forget the guy who got me into this in the first place? I'll be
waiting for your submission. Styles are on a first come, first serve basis,

The 3 mortal kombat soundtracks are great.
Crystal Method Kicks ass.
A few other good CDs with some good "fighting tunes" are The Matrix
Soundtrack, Hackers, Spawn. The Blade soundtrack is good for a darker
Gothy (WoD) setting.

Generally Industrial and techno.

I wonder if the RMD soundtrack is out. I distincly heard my 2 favorite
Crysdtal Meth songs on it (keep hope alive, and high roller).

Doesn't egroups have somthing we can use to keep track of all these
tournaments? My head's spinning... :)

Cool. Thanks!

Ground rules:
Rank 5 fighter. 90 experience points to spend aside from fifteen freebie
points to spend after character creation. Weapons are allowed, out of the
Contenders book. If you don't have the book, I think Scott (shameless
plug!) has a link on his page to find them. Send me a tactics list of 20
moves your fighter will do during the fight, as well as any add-ons that
he'd do during the fight. You gotta have a sense of style, right? Any
background is allowed, just keep it from the books. Styles are on a first
come, first served basis.

The cult is great, but one time my friend Vu (as Jake Gauntlet) was beating
up some punks in a small park (basketball court to be exact, swinging kicks
off the pole and Vega like fence jumps using stunt cards, it was great, one
guy wound up in the net). Anyway, when he threw a punk into their boom box
the station changed, so we threw on a random station and he continued the
fight to the tune of "Dancing with Myself" by Billy Idol. Beleive it or not,
it was perfect! Just picture it, and remember, he used lots of Jackie
Chanesque stunts with the pole, hoop, benches, and thugs themselves. We've
also used the Street Fighter cassette that yopu can get by mailing in the box
top from the street fighter v videos, and a whole slew of other stuff.
Streets of Fire soundtrack for when I converted that movie into a campaign,
etc.

Mike No I can't belive you didn't even think of it. The Mortal Kombat sound trek aside from the "MORTAL KOMBAT" it pretty good music to do a fight to fast paced and energetic. Aside from that a few of my perosnal favorites to do fights to is Kid Rock's Ba Witda Ba or Korn's Da Boom Nung Nung Da Boom Na La Gella. I don't if that is the actual title of the song for Korn it's just the repetitve stanza that they keep saying.

Actually if somebody's going to bother and spend the time to build something like that why not just go all out and build it 3-D i.e. kinda like Motal Kombat 4 but only for the computer were you can pick a face for your charcter by inserting a picture of some sort. Pick manuvers and stats for your charcter and run the game over the net so you could actually possibly battle with people from the egroup. Of course this is a nice dream but to even possibly attain this you would have to get a bunch of programmers together. Oh wait now don't we have a bunch of them right here on the egroup might not be a bad idea for an egroup project we got the vault to store the updated program too and everybody could work on it. I don't just an idea.

You could very easily do it in a console app, but it would look like crap

Following the techno vein, what you want to dig up is a series called
"Happy 2B Hardcore". Happy Hardcore is REALLY upbeat techno, boasting 140
beats a minute. To me, it just screams "Jackie Chan was here." There are 4
volumes. Accept no substitutions. HAPPY 2B Hardcore.
Oh, and stay away from something called "Happy Happy Hardcore". it's not
the same, not even close.

IRC is far better than web based chat. First if all in IRC you can
create bots. joespitt has got a bot in his room that rools dice. Just
type "!roll 10D10" and the bot spits out 10 random numbers between 1 and
10 (or 0 - 9)
Can't do that in a web based chat.

I'm doing a cassette of fight music, entirely instrumental. So far I've got
music from the Atari Jaguar Tempest 2000 Soundtrack, Quake 2, and um, a few
others I don't remember right now. I think "The Battle" from Transformers:
The Movie is on there too.

Don't recall if we discussed this before here or not, but do you guys play
background music when playing SF? And if so what do you guys listen to? Im
trying to make a cd with some really cool fighting music, and Im drawing a
complete blank. All I got is Eye of the Tiger and that is so cliche.

Thanks for the help.

That wouldn't necessarily be bad, but the problem is A) a lot of the
internet maneuvers aer either cheap or unbalancing, and B) no all our
characters would be the same rank. . . .I probably have not been playing my
current character as long as some people in this group. . . . .

Okay, I have a few questions on the Rank 5 tournament.

1. We can make up our own abilities? We can have an eight in anything we
like? ALL our abilities could be eights? Seems like a legendary tournament,
not rank fivers.
2. Are the extra 90 points freebie points or exp points?
3. How will you handle blind fighting rules?
4. How will you handle aborts? What maneuvers can we abort to, and can we
abort to crouching blocks?

Number One by Manowar is _the_ Street Fighter song! Actually, a lot of
Manowar's songs would be good for battle themes.

While were on the subject of Transformers the Movie songs, I think Instruments
of Destruction would be perfect to introduce your main baddie (or M. Bison).

It's not that hard. Rinaldo's is called Gateway and he always places Gateway
in the subject heading. Chris's is unnamed as of yet (either that or he's keep
it a secret, very tricky!), but when it is, I'm sure he'll do the same for us.

The IRC tournament (which I won't be in, sorry guys), once it gets started,
will probably do the same as well.

Anyone who wants to join an IRC based rank one tournament can email me with
Basic Starting characters, I'll work it out and see if we can find a time
to do the fights, I would suggest this weekend while I'm watching the NFL
draft. Rules for creation are anything goes, but Duelists will not be
allowed to use weapons on non duelists, there are duelists in the
tournament, and they DO have weapon maneuvers. You are allowed to create
cybernetics, animal hybrids, and elementals, you CAN combine those three,
BUT, you can not use Cybernetics dots for the focus requirements for the
Elemental maneuvers, you also can not combine elementals. There are three
new styles in play characters may want to consider: Tae Kwon Do (I have my
own version which actually isn't that great, but there are three fighters
who practice it), Jade Falcon Kung Fu (Hiryu's style, it is a combination
of Wu Shu and Ler Drit, it is VERY weak on focus, only balance and musical
accmpt), and Black Arts (Think of an evil, purely cerebral combo of the ler
drit mind control manevuers and Kabaddi, pretty much lacking any physical
moves). . . .Any questions, email me. . . . . .Send fighters to my email at

Is it at all related to Battletech's Clan Jade Falcon?

Now we know what Shang Tsung used to enter Liu Kang's dreams in the movie.

Ha ha ha, you got me with the Jade Falcon, I was tring to think of a good
name for the style, and Jade Falcon fit. Black arts is a little different
than Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat, but kinda similar.. . . .I mean you

hm.

just a little off-topic, the one time I pondered creating Shang Tsung in
Street Fighter, I decided to build him as a standard fighter with Kung Fu,
and then give him the Spheres from Mage: the Ascension.

I don't think that would be the best way to do it, Shang tsung definately
uses a "lesser" magic, I mean you could probably make him in Mage, however,
Shape changing and soul sucking are vulgar to the biggest degree I can
imagine, he would have been building up paradox like nobody's business. . .
. . .The only trick he's got you can't do in Street Fighter is his shape
shifting trick. . . . . .
Group: streetfighter Message: 6455 From: Steve Karstensen Date: 4/14/2000
Subject: Re: [streetfighter] Rank One tournament: Kanzaki Open
Not necessarily. Since he gets his powers "granted" from Shao Khan (or if
the rumors of Tsung being a demon are true, he's actually lesser Umbrood...
and being from the Outworld would classify him as such anyway) he could be
considered... oh, what the hell are they called. Starts with a D. Kinda
like the Nephandi, but not really. Anyways, if he were Umbrood, he would
gain no Paradox.

In addition, Tsung's island sanctuary could easily be considered a pocket
realm (remember in the film how Sonya couldn't use her radio or Johnny's
cell phone once they were ashore) and thus normal rules of coincidence and
Paradox would not apply.

And finally, none of what Tsung has displayed would be vulgar, depending on
where he did it and who was watching.

Its pretty cool really worth checking out if your into comics.

The reason I'm doing this is so people can get some of the "cheesy
craptacular" characters out of their systems, with minimal restriction. As
it is, I like rank 5. Not too high up, not too little. And I've dealt with
many min-maxers in my day. I'll personally be looking over the character
sheets and doing my own tallies.
